I was contacted by Bill Reed who claimed that we have ordered toner from him for our office printer and that we were probably due to order more. I asked when we ordered last and he gave me an exact date of over 6 months ago. Being that I was still somewhat new to the company he sounded very sure of himself so I believed him. He then sent us the toner and an invoice for it ($489!). When I saw the invoice I looked up the the company name under our list of contacts and it did not appear. I then asked my boss and she had never seen this company before. It turns out we have always ordered from the same company that sold us the printer, which was not this Toner Max company. Thankfully I never opened the package of toner and sent it back along with the invoice. Bill called me a few days later to see if we had received the toner. I told him that I sent it back and had learned that we have never ordered from him. He said that was odd and and would have to check with his supervisor. Again I told him that he specifically told me that we ordered toner from him (Bill) before. He then said that was information that he received from his supervisor and that he'll talk with them. I then asked for the name of his supervisor and he then hung up on me. I looked up this company with the BBB and this company was given an F. Go figure. This company is a scam and judging by someone else's complaint about them they have changed their address and phone number multiple times. Watch out!

No Bill Reed with us

POSTED: Monday, November 18, 2013

I have worked for Tonermax for the last 10 years and we have never employed anyone by the name of Bill Reed.  We are located in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and not in California.  We don't offer terms and have never invoiced anyone.  You have to pay directly on the site.  This has nothing to do with us and I think that you might be confusing us with a different company.  If you have any questions about us or our company please contact us via our live chat located directly on the website.

Also as a side note, our BBB rating is an A, which makes me think even more you were looking at a totally wrong company.
