Last year, 2008, my husband and I were excited about our New Year's resolutions to lose weight. We determined that an elliptical was the best option for our lifestyle. We priced them at stores, and ultimately decided that the Orbitrek Elite, distributed by Thane USA was the one for us.

I quickly phoned in our order and anxiously awaited its arrival. After 3 weeks, I inquired why I hadn't received my order. I received a confirmation letter that the item had been shipped, but the tracking number never worked. They told me I needed to give it another 14 days. I waited to no avail.

Being a mother of 4 children as well as a full-time teacher & part-time realtor, time slipped away. I contacted them on several occasions throughout the next few months... mostly when they would charge my account for the product I didn't receive. A couple of times, they requested that I complete a postal investigation form which I gladly did & returned via FAX. They say it was never received. Unfortunately, their claim of not receiving my FAX didn't cost them a thing. My claim of not receiving the Orbitrek Elite $266.88!

They ended up charging me the full amount, and unfortunately, I wasn't able to stop payment in time to keep them from receiving the full payment for the elliptical. I wish I had the chance to try this product out. Unfortunately, I never received it in the mail, and THANE USA would not refund my money no matter how many times I requested it or faxed them their information back. Instead, they charged me the full price... for nothing.

Their ad says, "Over 1 million sold." I wonder how many of those were actually delivered!

I am thoroughly disgusted with Thane USA. I will never buy from them again, and will warn others of their poor service to consumers! What a poor reputation to be giving US businesses right now! If Thane loses just 1 customer because of this review, I will have succeeded. I hope no one else has to lose any money because of their experience with Thane USA.
