Hello, I did not want to be the bearer of bad news, but it's the truth and if this review helps someone not make the same mistake I did, I will sleep even better at night. *Note: I never wanted to write this but Mike Caldwell left me no choice I've been dealing with him off and on for over a year. I have screen shots to back everything up and hope no one else has to deal with him as he is not a man of his word. In the shortest answer, save your money and RUN AWAY from Mike Caldwell and his sorry excuse for a "company" called the 297 club as quickly as possible!
Long story: I saw Mike Caldwell's ad on Craigslist in November of 2017. I was in a rough spot financially and was interested in the ad as it appeared to be a sensible & lucrative business. Only problem was, I did not have even 10 bucks to my name! I talked with Michael and he was very helpful and understanding of my situation and he offered me a "discount" on the onboarding fee of, you guessed it, $297. That was awesome of him, I thought, so about a month later, after doing some odd jobs on Craigslist I earned enough to "buy-in" to this elaborate scam. Mike was so helpful, he explained he could get me in at the discounted price of "$150" basically half off! Needless to say, I was excited to get in at that price! (Who doesn't appreciate a discount?) I paid Mike Caldwell the $150 sometime in December of 2017.
Within 3 short months, I realized what a mistake that was. To recap, for anyone who doesn't know what this game they'll have you play is all about. The "product" they offer is a lead scraping software that generates beat-up, cold, and unsuspecting business owners/entrepreneurs personal information; which in my eyes is just unethical to begin with, these are NOT viable leads! You are then thrown into a "call center" where you'll answer calls whenever you want to clock in, but these calls are not businesses calling looks for leads, they are regular people just like you and me, looking for legitimate work from home opportunities! It gets worse... So here I am, busting my backside, taking as many calls as possible to recoup my initial investment of $150. About a week into this I recruited one entrepreneur.
If you watched the webinar, you know that the 1st person you recruit gets 'passed up' to your upline. So, I don't make anything, but I just made Mike $200 bucks, not too shabby (for him). At this point, I think I'm seeing the light with this opportunity! Another week or so passes and I have over 7 people interested, all but 6 decide it's "not for them". Unlike me, they must have done their thorough research! I was able to recruit one person out of those 7 and ironically, he was struggling financially, just like me. I called Mike to see how do I offer a discount, he didn't respond, so via email I reached out to the person above him and this is where things started to get really fishy.... He basically tells me, they ( the 297 club ) are not in charge of how you receive payment or how much,
and that there is only a $97 Admin Fee to be paid, after the $97 Admin Fee is paid, they'll have access to the whole system! So, not only is the product and company completely BOGUS, it also only costs $97 to join and that's how Mike Caldwell was able to give me his "generous" $150 discount. This is how you're able to unethcially "make $200 over and over again". I gave the interested prospect a discount, same one as Mike gave me, $150. He paid it, and it only took him less than 6 days to realize this is a huge, messed-up ponzi scheme. He is actually the reason I found out for sure that this company was not legitimate. He informed me about all the horrid reviews on Mike Caldwell and how he goes by multiple names and has had other businesses no longer around (lookup pgleads/paragon leads or just google Mike Caldwell)
He stated he wanted a refund (rightfully so) and I was more than willing to give him one, only problem was, I needed to pay rent and I did not have his investment! This is where things went down south. My unsatisfied prospect blackmarks my PayPal account and extracts $150 that I did not have and then my PayPal account gets deactivated. At this point, I'm constantly calling Mike Caldwell, with no answer, no callbacks-nothing. Now, not only have I lost faith in humanity, but also I've lost all of my money! I keep trying to get ahold of Mike and when I finally do, he is the opposite of what he originally appeared to be. He becomes demeaning, says "it's my fault I can't keep clients on board" and that he isn't going to give me a refund because "it's not his problem".
At this point, I am not asking kindly for my money back, as I feel very disrespected and lied to. He reassured me I won't be given a refund and to just "forget about it" and "bring more people in". Knowing that this whole operation is a scam and ruining people, I don't know how I could recruit people into this Scam! Which leads me to believe, Mike Caldwell has No Conscious or Soul. How could you knowingly promote a scam? At the end of December, I take his advice, I just stopped trying for the refund. I Realized I'll never get it back. January 8th of 2018 he says " he might have someone interested in buying my software license for $150" Can you guess what happens next?
Yup, absolutely nothing! 2 months pass and not a word from Michael Caldwell. I did however receive a random group email with multiple unhappy 297 victims and we all had something to say, especially me. I explained my story for all to see, called it a Scam like it is, and he apparently did not like that and offered me a refund! Of course, I accepted his offer and deactivated my software as he requested, and of course, he did not deliver on his end. I decided to email him March 1st, 2018 during my birthday month, reminding him of the refund HE OFFERED ME, that was a mistake to hold him accountable to his own word. He became irritated saying I was "pestering him this whole time while I could have been making money" offers to put me back in the system, get this, FOR FREE!!
I declined and was infuriated and DEMANDED my refund that he offered, with no avail. Some more time passes and I decide to call him, he surprisingly answers and is VERY standoffish, says the same thing no refund but " I can put you into the system for free" this time, I accept his offer and just say "okay" with NO intentions of joining his Scam. Even more weeks pass and I do not hear a word from him. He randomly responds on April 22nd and says this : "Heath, Just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about you. It's been a pretty crazy week getting ready for my son's first communion. In any event, I'll get you set up today. Thanks for your patience." That was April 22nd! I have not responded or heard back from him since, It is now August 27th 2018!
Now at this point, I'm only writing this review for the principal, to help other people be aware of this scam. Yes, if you are like Mike Caldwell and you also have no conscious or soul you can make money with the 297 club. I just can not imagine peddling a product with no value, only costs $97 and then charge people $297 for it. I really hope this review helps save people from joining a known scam and if anything changes I will update my review accordingly. I believe in the good of all people and I have humanity's best interest at heart, Mike Caldwell and the 297 club do not! Thank you for reading, you've been warned.
