The 4X4 Store We Got Trucks! Buyer Beware! Do not make the mistake I did! They do not stand behind their Trucks! Carleton Place Ontario

Due to knee surgery truck hunting was a problem, walking was limited so I decided to search the internet for my truck. I found a truck I liked, it was a 2008 Ford 150.

On September 3,2014 I contacted the dealership to get more info, I spoke with Dave Lamothe. He was very helpful in the beginning, always available when ever I called no matter when I called,returning emails, phone calls ect.. in a timely matter.

I asked for a carproof thinking that would be the most important part when purchasing and they readily sent it to me. I asked them to do a full walk around the vehicel since I was unable to go there myself.

I explained to them I wanted this vehicel to pull a horse trailer and needed it to be reliable. They promised me I would have no problems and would not be disapointed in my purchase of the vehicel and they stand behind their trucks. I never talked them down in price but did ask for the caps on the rims, trailer breaks and rain deflectors on the windows. They agreed.

The deal was done, I pay for the truck and promised delivery would be September 8,2014!! 

We never recieved the truck until the 11th

On September 11, 2014 the truck finally arrived at our home! I was excited! I did a walk around the vehicel and the first thing I noticed was the windshield had a 12 inch crack in it along the bottom of the passenger side. I called imediatelay and spoke with Carl, one of the sales people and told them. They were surprised but agreed to repair it. I then emialed them to let them know that looking further I found the drivers side signal did not work and the back up sensor did not work. This was not the fully loaded vehicel I purchased.

September 13, 2014 We drive to a friends outside of town to pick up a washer with our new truck when we hear a clanging noice???

September 15 I called the 4x4 store telling them of a clanging noise coming from the truck and they told me to check to see if there was a can banging around in the back.

September 16 the trucks hot engine light comes on and truck shuts down on its own, I shut the truck off and restart and all is good.

On September 16,2014 we finally recieved confirmation on repairing the window but as for the other problems they never repied and we were yet to recieve the rim covers. I sent them a email explaining to them that we were having machanical problems with the vehicel.

This is when The 4X4 Store shows it's true colors.

September 17 I call The 4X4 Store and speak with Carl telling him the problems we are having with the truck. He tells me to find out what it is and let him know

During this time I contact our extended warrenty dealer to find out who their prefered mechanic is so if it can be covered under warranty the truck is there. We find out it is Class A Automotive a respected auto repair in Peterborough.

We make a appt and on September 25 we leave the truck with them to look over.

September 25 we recieve a disturbing phone call from our mechanic telling us he found 2 codes no good

1st code is the Power Steering Pressure Sensor

2nd is the Cylinder over temprature sensor

Both No Good!

As for the clanging noise i have been hearing since we purchased the truck he tells me that the Rear Emergency Brake shoes have come apart???? All these repairs I was told was going to be close to $2000. dollars!!!

I imediately contact The 4X4 Store very upset and tell them what the problems were and I expected them to take responsiblity. The sales guy said he would take the message to Dave and my mechanics contact info in case Dave had questions. 

Ater I hung up I decided to also send a email, just in case the message never got to Dave.

September 26,2014 I never recieved a reply from Dave and decided to call. Dave was not available but Carl was. Carl told me they never recieved the phone message but recieved my email. He said that they were responsible for the brakes but felt they should not be for the sensors. I sent Carl a email stating I felt they should be responsible for all of it since I only got 5 days of driving and 2 of those days it broke down. I never recived a reply

September 26,2014 I call again The 4X4 Store and I am told to get a estimate of the repairs from my mechanic and send it to them.

September 29 I call The 4X4 Store to speak to Dave, again he is not available but they were able to relate a message that he is waiting for their garage to call them on the estimate.

September 29 I send a email to The 4X4 Store explaining my frustration and asking to repair and refund!

September 30 I call again to speak to Dave, again he is not available, at this point I have had enough and say no problem will look into it it legally, This was at 1pm. At 4pm I get a call from The 4X4 Store, almost fainted from shock! It was Carl telling me he finally caught up with Dave and they were willing to pay half the bill?? Excuse me but I want them to pay all of it! I feel they sold me this truck and should stand behind it since I owned it for such a short time.

October 2nd I call and again Dave is not available, I speak with Carl, I tell him I am willing to accept $1500. toward the bill since it is going to cost me shy of $2000., he says he will speak with Dave and get back to me.

October 3rd I call The 4X4 Store again, and again Dave is not available. I speak with Carl and he informs me that our mechanic is to expensive and they are willing to give us $1250. Hello we are not bargining in purchasing, we are trying to fix a truck they sold us in this condition!!! Just agree to fix it! they obviously know they are in the wrong but don't want to pay out to satisfy the customer. I did research during all this and I wish I did it before I purchased the truck because I am not the only person over the years they have done this to, the most recent is Febuary 2014. I want them to step up and take responsiblilty! Stand behind your Trucks!!
