I signed up for a free so called bottle of the Amazon Diet, my only obligation was suppose to be to pay $4.74 shipping.

This company deducted $149.90 from my checking account without my consent or authorization, and sent me three bottles of their product that I never asked for. In addition caused my account to go into overdraft and I was charged additionally by my bank.

As I went through the intial sign-up process, I was very careful to look over their web page to be sure that I was not signing up for anything additional. The only pages that came up where the sign up page, and a page to enter my banking information.

After a quick submission of my bank information, it almost felt as though the computer gobbled up my bank information very quickly after I hit enter, and by the way after you do this there is no turning back. I receive in my e mail a confirmation of my order for $4.74 only, no indication what this companies intentions were.

I receive the free bottle with a receipt, but I did not pay attention to the very very very small print at the bottom of the receipt. This is where it states they will "BILL" you $149.90 and will send you a three month supply after 14 days. You don't have to do a thing, if you don't respond you are hooked in. However, the deceptive thing about this is that they say they will bill you, they never state that they are going to deduct from your checking account again.

If you don't respond back to them in the 14 day time frame then conveniently a package is sent to you in the mail, and they have already deducted their $149.90 from your checking account. In addition, their receipt with the three bottles say "You will be billed" and it appears that you have a choice of how to pay and that you have a balance of $149.90.

Low and behold, I checked my account and found it in the negative from their deduction and the now $35.00 NSF fee charged by my bank.

I have now had to dispute this charge with my bank and have been back and fourth with Amazon Diet/Momentum Direct, whatever their name is??? They have made me feel as though they have not done one thing wrong, they have since sent me a check back for $110.45 and deducted a $19.95 Shipping and handling charge and a $19.50 restocking fee charge??? Their product was sent back to them in tact, never opened but I was charged a restocking fee???

What a racket! I have since contacted an Attorney and am in the process of completing the fraud activity with my bank. This company needs to be stopped in their tracks and there needs to be something done that does not allow them to hoodwink anyone else into their clutches. A warning needs to be placed on their website that gives the consumer a fair chance to make the decision of whether or not they want to be signed up for their products. This is illegal activity, do not give this company any of your financial information!

Still ripped off

AUTHOR: Kim - (U.S.A.)

I finally got my money back from this slimmy company! They however only gave me back $110.00 of the $149.90 they stole from my account! I was not only charged for shipping and handling $19.95, but I was also charged a restocking fee of $19...How do you say either way around it this company does not do business on the up and up! Instead of doing fairly by me they still chose to rip me off for $30 some odd dollars, does it really cost $19 to put an unopened bottle of product back on the shelf? and does it really cost $19.95 for shipping and handling when it cost me only $5.00, (WHICH NOW THEY HAVE RIPPED ME OFF FOR AS WELL, HOW DO YOU SAY...AT LEAST GIVE ME BACK THE POSTAGE FEE THAT IT TOOK FOR ME TO SEND YOU BACK YOUR PRODUCT!) to send this product (THAT I NEVER ASKED IN THE FIRST PLACE FOR) back to them...I say that it has been such a lose lose situation for me that if in fact this company is attempting to be a reputible company "Good Luck with that". The way you treat people only makes them mad and not ever to want to do business with you AGAIN! I guess your motto is Momentum Direct, it only takes one time with the billions of people out there to become rich, so who cares anyway...I will still yell it to the top of my lungs and everywhere that I go DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AMAZON DIET OR MOMENTUM DIRECT! You will be sorry...AND BY THE WAY YOU EVENTUALLY WILL REAP WHAT YOU SOW MOMENTUM DIRECT! Have a nice life....

It sounds to me that this is an individual who works for the Amazon Diet. I'm sorry but the web page is cunningly devised! The place that you press enter for your so called "Free" bottle is conveniently above the terms and conditions portion...which by the way does not come up on the screen until you scroll down. If you are an individual who has been convinced to try their product by way of another website (i.e. survey page, etc) the fact of the matter is that you are not looking to read their entire webpage.

If they were so on the up and up then their terms and conditions should come up elsewhere BEFORE you put in your financial information. I take full responsibility for not reading before buying, however, there needs to more of a chance to say no! Once you put in your financial information there is no going back and if this company was so on the up and up they would make it a point to cover themselves to be sure that their one and only opportunity is not missed to provide their terms and conditions to consumers. Not to mention, the very very very small print on the bottom of the receipt is not something you are looking for if you are only signing up for a so called free bottle!

It is indeed a scam and a rip off to charge someone $19.99 to put a bottle back on the shelf and to charge $19.95 for shipping and handling if in deed shipping and handling is $5.00 or less! If this was such a reputible company then the thing to do when your business practices are creating droves of unhappy people then you would think that this company would get a clue and change the manner in which they do business! In the end I am the consumer, the way I was handled makes me not ever want to do business with this company again, I felt ripped off and stolen from in the end...whatever happened to the Customer always being right?????
