The American Pontoon Company Lied, cheated, did not fulfill prepaid special order and would not answer phone calls or messages. Manning South Carolina

The storage facility I keep my pontoon in during the winter collapsed because of heavy snowfalls.  The pontoon experienced substantial damage and among many other items the sides and rails needed replacement.  The pontoon repair facility I was using in WI ordered custom rails and sides for my pontoon from the American Pontoon Company with my and my insurance company's approval.  This was a prepaid custom order made in early May 2014 to be completed prior to July 2014.  

The repair facility followed up in June a couple of times and I called as well.  It was hard to get through.  Upon one successful contact American Pontoon said that the order was close to getting ready for bubble packing.  After another successful contact they said it just had to be bubble packed.  After another successful contact they said that it was waiting to be shipped.  No more successful contacts after that.  No one answered the phone and no one responded to voice mail messages to return a call.  During the period from late June to mid-July I called at least 2 dozen times.  The insurance company called several times and the repair facility called at least 20 times.  Scores of calls were made and we all got through maybe a total of 6 times.  For every unanswered call a voice mail was left and never returned.

By mid to late July it was obvious that we would not hear from the American Pontoon Company so we made other arrangements with another vendor to get rails and sides.   Luckily the repair facility that I was using had paid for the special order with a credit card.  It took months, but the credit card company did issue a credit.

In the 3 successful out of the dozens of calls I made to American Pontoon Company I spoke to Adrian the owner twice and his wife once.  Both obviously lied to me about the status of the order being ready to be shipped and or bubble wrapped for shipping.   They have never contacted the repair facility, me, or the insurance company with any explanation.  

American Pontoon has a nice website and when you want to order from them they appear competent and helpful.  After that the lies and fraud start.  Beware and stay away.
