this school is a ripoff -parents and kids please do your research on this school.the asst.dir.of admissions or ada(s) as they are called, will tell and show you everything you want to see and hear to get you enrolled in this school.i've seen kids that could barely spell their names get admitted into this school,as long as you can qualify for a grant or student loan you're in.the catch is when you get in they place you in remedial courses(that don't count towards your degree)which is extra money they make.if you fail then you retake it,still not earning credits for core classes, but paying 100s of dollars i credit hr.earned.Again this is referring to the business aspect of the school.there's this son of a .....named richard walker who has the title director of finance and administration they put in charge of security on the campus.he's very easy to recongize,he looks like the character "peter"on the show "family guy".security is on point,so parents you don't have too much to worry about in that sense, and it isn't because of that sloppy...there admissions dept is like a revolving door the average time a person stays is 1week to maybe 3 months.also, the school doesn't share vital information to all, example about 2 mths ago the county haelth dept came in testing certain individuals for tuberculosis on the "hush hush".this info.should have been shared with every person in that bldg.as well as being disinfected, but they didn't.also they allow crossdressers to use female restrooms, they promise graduates jobs and some graduates wind up homeless trying to pay the loans without a decent job.you can contact news channel 36 in charlotte,nc for more insight on how this school can/has ripped off several.melanie brannon-asst.to pres of school, darchele smith-career svcs dir.and everybody that deals directly with the money except ginny smith is a crook.this is real, again news channel 36 in charlotte put them on "blast" big time.will keep you updated.peace

They were right

AUTHOR: Neokitty - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 13, 2012

apparently they were right, The Art Institutes were sued by the government for 11 billion

just google it tons of articles about that . I was fooled into going there with the promise of a job placement I remember it saying it in the commercials but when it was time to graduate that last week they tried to get me a job at Bestbuy , office depot, and Office max. They say the school is 28k for the graphic design plan but it then turns into 90k (ask any student there). The teachers barely teach you anything if you ask questions they tell you to look in your book.  Do not waste your time on this place find a community collage much cheaper and im sure they have better teachers.

So You Are A Good Example?

AUTHOR: Bman - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 08, 2010

I am sorry that you had such a bad experience. I have no idea what you went through so cannot comment with any fairness. Yet I wonder about a person that criticizes "kids that could barely spell their names get admitted into this school," since it is obvious that you need some of the remedial training that you are so angry about having to go through given your sentence structure, syntax, and spelling. I think you are right, there needs to be something better in place to stop students from entering that have little chance in succeeding in an accelerated program structure. Without a solid entrance requirement in place there will be students allowed to enter the system that are unprepared for a very tough fast moving system. Yet I wonder how these potential students can be served, and by what system? If not here where do they go when their pre-college training did not train them for success in any university or college setting, and this is their only chance to make a go at the art training needed to make it in a tough marketplace? At the foundation of this system is the idea that anyone if they are trained correctly can learn to create art. This goes back to the John Nagy commercial art system that was first advertised in comic books back in the 50s. See: http://www.weberart.com/signature/gnagy.html This idea does work when the student is prepared to do what they must to make this learning happen. Yet without a clear focus and hard work one cannot do what is required to be a working artist (whatever your medium). As for the sickness, remember this is a corporation, which tend to be opaque until the problem is shown to be a real threat, and not gossip or a fabrication. Health issues are always important so if what you say is true and there was an outbreak of tuberculosis brought on by uncaring officials then this is very bad. Do you have the proof to support your allegation?
