Three weeks ago I attended a Sunday group lesson and party afterwards at The Ballroom Dance Company in
Tigard Oregon. It was a lot of fun until an angry male named "Paris Guffey" decided to get reckless and aggressive
towards me and my dance partner, cutting into us at sharp angles, coming out of nowhere. I had to literally pull my partner out of the way to keep her from being ran over by Paris Guffey not once but several times. I tried to be a good sport about it and not say anything thinking that Paris Guffey must be new here of something.

Then two weeks later I came back to attend another Sunday group lesson and party. Once again there was
Paris Guffey crashing over my partner and I, and once again I'm pulling her out of his way to keep from being ran over by Paris Guffey, only this time I come to find out that Paris Guffey isn't new here he's the instructor! Again I tried to "look the other way" and not say anything, but Monday morning after I had had time to think about the reckless aggressive behaviour of Paris Guffey I decided it would a good idea for the sake of everyone to call the Ballroom Dance Company and let the manager know how Paris Guffey was behaving towards guests and amateur dancers. That turned out to be
big mistake, here's what happened:

On Monday I called The Ballroom Dance Company and asked to speak to the manager, Nicole Sitts answered the
phone and tells me that there is no manager present and then asks me to to leave a message for Sunnie Page. When I told Nicole Sitts what had happened, the first words out of her mouth were "one of you two won't be allowed back at The Ballroom Dance Company again!" I remember thinking why would Nicole Sitts make this decision if she's not the manager? Then Nicole Sitts told me that there's no way that something can be done about this issue with Paris Guffey before the next group lesson and party on the following Sunday, so I told Nicole Sitts in that case that I would tell Paris Guffey myself to curb his reckless aggressive dance style. I also told Nicole Sitts that I did not feel comfortable doing that nor did I feel like it was my job to correct Paris Guffey's behaviour.

I waited for three days and hearnothing from The Ballroom Dance Company managers or owners. On Thursday I called to see if my complaint had been addressed, Lisa answered the phone and told me that so far nothing had been done, I
then told Lisa that if something didn't get done about Paris Guffey by Sunday that I would complain on Yelp.com as well as other online venues.

Then on Friday I received a blistering email loaded with legal threats, legal code and state jurisdiction information along with information that when skilled dancers are on the floor at The Ballroom Dance Company that social dancers should
not be there too! This goes against everything I have been told and instructed on for 16 years at various ballroom dance studios, the rules and dance etiquette are clear that instructors, pros, and competition dancers are to show courtesy and yield to amateurs, elderly and children who may be sharing the dance floor. Nicole Sitts goes on to inform me that
Paris Guffey is a "highly skilled dancer". That really made me feel sick actually, because Paris Guffey has two huge problems with his dancing:

1. Too much pro-am and instruction from a female have made his dancing very "feminine" in other words Paris Guffey now dances like a girl, and I'm not saying this mean spirited either, it's true.

2. Paris Guffey's floor craft which is a term he has never heard of before equates to a dancing circus animal, or zero. This bozo has no floor craft. Despite the fact that the owner of The Ballroom Dance Company, Sunnie Page is actually a total class act herself and that the facility itself is the biggest and best in the state of Oregon, I give The Ballroom Dance Company a 1 star rating and if I could give them a 0 star rating I would do that instead. The management team and rules regarding instructor conduct need overhauling at this studio, period.

I appreciate The Ballroom Dance Company's respect for this complaint and I wish Nicole "Ditz" and Paris "Run-Away-Truck" Guffey the best in finding new students to run over on the dance floor, insult and threaten with legal jargons ORS 133.225 / ORS 161.255.

PS: Nothing short a written letter of apology plus a full refund for the last two episodes I endured at The Ballroom Dance Company will change my thinking for this rude display and flagrant disregard for others. Regardless, I would never go to this studio again if you paid me to.

POSTED: Thursday, July 07, 2011

Please allow me this method to let it be known that I have spoken with the studio manager of "The Ballroom Dance Company" today and my concerns regarding management and instructor conduct have been resolved 100%.
The studio manager "Nicole Sitts" was VERY receptive and courteous towards me today and I felt much better after my discussion with Nicole Sitts.
As I have stated prior, "The Ballroom Dance Company" in Tigard, Oregon is the biggest and best ballroom dance studio in Oregon.
I would recommend "The Ballroom Dance Studio" to anyone interested in ballroom dancing.
Also, thank you Nicole for your kind attention to this issue.

Nicole Sitts Ditz aka bimbo

AUTHOR: Steven - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 24, 2011

Nicole Sitts Ditz is now trying to claim that I am a "locally owned dance studio" in order to post false business information on (((ROR REDACTED))). This "bimbo" has now proved that she is a man hater (her fathe r was a jerk, so ALL men are jerks...), a liar, paranoid, sociopath, delusional, depressed, non stop angry/vengeful (vengeful because of the abuse from her poor upbringing) and finally this nut has zero common sense.

Thank God I don't go to The Ballroom Dance Company in Tigart, OR. I can't believe Nicole Sitts Ditz actually thinks I'm mad or even care about this place, what a joke. I wouldn't go back to this un-organised, mis-managed circus act again if you paid me to.

Oh well, this is what happens when you let a wacko case like Nicole Sitts Ditz deal with a simple customer complaint that is now a major issue being viewed 5 million times a day over the WWW, nice work Nicole you're smart!

Rebuttal

AUTHOR: Steven - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, May 02, 2011

Thank your for responding, your thoughts and comments are very much welcome.
1. As this person's partner you aren't really objective though, are you?
2. Nicole Sitts is listed on her emails as "Studio Manager", please get your facts straight before you try and straighten me out, okay.
3. If Paris is dancing you into someone with your back to them, how would you know if that were happening? Don't take my word for it, BDC has security cameras, maybe you need to view them.
4. You are correct about my not being happy about no longer going to BDC I really liked that facility and the dancers I met there, along with Sunnie who is the best. However this crap with your "religous friend/partner" needs to be addressed and if I get kicked out because Paris the-run-away-truck is someone's sacred cow then big deal. Maybe when he hits and injures someone you'll believe me then.
5. Have you ever heard "the customer is always right" before?
This situation which is now all over the Internet is living proof of "why" the customer is always right, I'm "telling you" that your partner is reckless, I'm not "asking" you if your partner is reckless, do you see the difference?
6. Please use some common sense, if someone says "you are being too rough" don't argue with them and say "no I'm not", apologise and see their point.
7. My primary concern on the dance is to look out for my partner, not run her into someone and not let someone run into her, Paris is a walking hazard. In 16 years of going to dance parties I have never seen and instructor behave toward guests this way, ever.
8. Because you don't know this for some reason , instructors, pros and competitive dancers should show courtesy and yield to amateurs, the elderly and children when they are present and sharing the floor.
9. I sincerely hope that point #8 finally gets somewhere, unfortunately everyone seems to only be focused on them selves and their precious egos.
10. Our job as experienced dancers is to put others "ahead" of ourselves, always.
11. If want to help, then set an example and start doing that now.
Again thank you for your input and I am confident that this issue will end with positive changes which need to happen.

This guy is just plain nuts.

I go to those dances, I haven't missed one in over 4 months. Nothing like what he is describing has ever occurred while I've been there.

I know Paris, I've danced with him. He's always smiling and polite. He definitly dances faster than most of the other guys there. But I have never felt unsafe as his partner. The idea that he would try to use me as a battering ram is totally surreal.

I mean, he's super religious. Anyway all the teachers and the people who compete dance fast like him. But you know, they know what they're doing. The rest of us are just having fun, but they're working.

It's the beginners who're watching their feet who bump into other people but it's like "whoops sorry" everyone smiles and keeps dancing.

And I don't know Nicole very well but I have talked to her a couple time about new classes and showcases (plus she keeps band-aids at the front for when people like me get blisters). I'd say she's very nice and quiet. She's just one of the receptionists though, everyone knows Sunnie is in charge of everything and she's out having a baby so it makes sense that Nicole would have to pass messages to her.

I feel really bad that he used their last names all over the place, he just smudged their reputations because he didn't like getting kicked out.

Anyway, I personally don't believe this Steve guy and I will continue to attend and enjoy the BDC dances. And I'm glad he won't be there, I have to deal with enough crazy people at work, it's nice to know they're being screened out of my recreational places.
