The Billing Resource, USBI, ILD How in the H#$% Do They Do It? Internet

Beginning with my last AT&T bill, July, I began receiving bills for companies I did not know. Right now I do not recall the name of the first one, but AT&T removed the charges from my bill.

This month's AT&T bill, has three companies I do not know, The Billing Resource, USBI, ILD. I searched them on the Internet and they are all business related or for services such as fax, voicebox, etc.

I know from my research here, they are not new to you, but what I want to know, is how get the charges on my bill? I surf the web, but am extreme careful to read as much as I can about what I sign up for or the buttons I click.

I have contacted AT&T about these charges and no doubt they will be removed from my bill. However, there must be a way to protect one's self from these predators. I am sure they are betting somebody does not go through their bill and just pay it automatically.

How do they get away with this?
