My husband and I were also scammed by The Candle Brokers and Divine Marketing. We paid for our candles in the fall of 2003. We finally received our candles in January 2004, well after the holiday selling season. We received names from Divine Marketing of locators to locate our candles. Between 4-5 locators called, but all of these never showed up to locate our candles. Finally one came from Ohio. He got us in locations in the worst part of our town. We tried to steer him to better areas and locations, but he told us that we needed to be near the blue collar markets.

Most of the places he wanted us to put our candles were in such poor areas that I was fearful to go. We put in our candles in a 5 locations. We were promised 15. He said he had 12 firmed up for us and he'd come back for the other ones. He never did. And out of the 12, only 5 ended up saying that they had actually "agreed" to it. Out of the 5, we only have 2 locations and have only sold about 12 candles.

We are feeling miserable with the candle stock in our garage and no place to put them. We've tried locating them on our own, but to no avail. It's been a horrible experience and I am sick about the money we have lost...and extremely embarrassed that we've been "taken". I would like to file a complaint as well, but don't know where to go. Gina, this is the first time I've read your report. I was actually happy to find a kindred soul in the sorrowful situation we are in.

I don't know what my next step should be. I just want to sell what I have and get out of it all. I want to make the money back. I noticed their website is "under construction" now. Don't really now what to do but don't want others to fall for it.

Please file a complaint against them as Candle Brokers. I have sent in a complaint also. Call the Federal Trade Commission and file a complaint.

DO NOT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS! They are such crooks. I will stop at nothing to get them. We need to shut them down or they will continu to make hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I am stuck with over 1,000 junk candles too. The FTC and AG Office says that they will do something if they get enough complaints. Call on a regular basis and demand that
we get protection.

I'll tell you the same thing I told the other victims. Unload the trash on ebay. Or yard sales. Or swap meets. Get what you can.

The only way out is to sell your way back to profitability again. No, not the trash candles. Good candles. The real pie candles, with the good scent. You'll have to go out and find those on your own.

Unload the trash on ebay. Or yard sales. Or swap meets. Get what you can.
