I have known Rusty for years and as a person he is ok but as an honest businessman he is like Dr. Jeckl and Mr. Hyde.

He repaired three of my vehicles with two of them being basic services. However, when my disabled veteran son dropped off his 1971 Chevy Pickup to have a new engine, rebuilt transmission, major suspension work, minor brake work, and some other minor repairs completed it was unbelievable what happened.

What Rusty did has been proven to not be the first time he has been deceptive and dishonest as you will find in many other previous complaints.

You see we paid Rusty 6745.89 dollars to perform the listed work on the truck that was given to my son by his grandfather to be restored as a heirloom. However, what the finished product was, was not what we requested in writing nor what Rusty promised, nor what we would ever want done.

Rusty kept the truck for 18 months as my son was deployed. However, the last 6 months of waiting we had to call Rusty every week to just get another fairy tale on why the truck is not finished. In July of 2015 we picked up the truck and within 48 hours it broke down as the carbuerator was not installed correctly. I had another shop look at it and they fixed it right for 500.00 which I paid out of pocket because I did not trust Rusty.

Within one week of picking up the truck from Rusty the new radiator he installed blew a hole and the mechanic at Meineke (great location on Academy in Colorado Springs) where I towed the truck showed us that the radiator was not new as ir was just painted black and the cooling system actually was missing a thermostat. Funny when Rusty supposedly replaced that also.

I had Meineke fix it and I called Rusty who said basically all warranties must come from his shop so I was out of luck.

I considered it a life lesson and moved on. Within 3 days the new engine that was suppose to come from Jasper Engines threw a rod. I had it towed to Meineke and upon their inspection was informed that the engine was not new and actually just painted to look new and was NOT the right engine for the truck. The Identification Number that comes with any engine was verified to fit a 1985 Chevrolet and not a 1971 Chevrolet. It also became clear that many of the bolts used to assemble the engine were mismatched and sone even were missing.

When Meineke and myself called Jasper and several other engine places they nad no knowledge of Rusty or the Car Shop. I visited Rusty at his shop to address the issues and he stated that only he could perform any warranty work. I told him okay I will tow it to you once you show me the actual warranty showing 3 years 100K just as Jaspar offers. He told me it was a Vega Motor and not a Jaspar Motor. So I asked him for their number and he did not have it. I researched Vega Motors and they also had no record of Rusty buying an engine. It soon became obvious that Rusty just did some minor engine work and painted it to look new. He told me to tow it to him and he would take a look but also said that if  my if my son overheated the engine the warranty would be voided anyway. However, when the truck started steaming my son pulled right over and called me so the truck never reached the heat temperature to blow an engine. Rusty then told me that because I took the truck to someone else he would not honor anything. I then asked him,"would you have let yourself refix a truck that you had for 18 months and did just about nothing right'?

He called me a profanity and told me to get out of his business. I took this to court and won hands down and Rusty will pay me back every penny even if it takes me years to proof to the court he lied on the derogatories.
