*Consumer Comment: DAC Customer with happy results
I was told by the debit advocacy center they they could get a forebearance agreement and they knew full well they could not help me . they took my money up front knowing they would not be able to get the agreement. I repeatly called them trying to get a refund of the money I had paid them and they refused to refund my money. they bold faced lied to me and this is totally wrong in our day and time with the economy the way it is. these people are only our for the money they can scam from people who need help and promised help and never came thru with any help at all.

My husband and I recently hired The Debt Advocay Center to help us modify our loan. We had tried repeatedly for 6 months to get our mortgage lender to work with us to no avail. Yes we did pay an "underwriting fee" which was not unreasonable to us, and just paid the final "negoiation fee".
The whole process took us four months and at times we were skeptical; but we signed our final modification papers with the mortgage company Tuesday. We were able to restructure our loan and save us $800 a month; $9,600 a year.
Our "negotiator" at DAC was very good at keeping us updated once a week on the progress of the modification and very quick to return my phone calls.
Sure, theoretically, we could have gone through this process ourselves at no cost
(except loss of time sitting on hold, being transferred from department to department and leaving messages that aren't returned by the mortage company); but we work full time and we tried for six months without any progress on our own!
This was well worth the price to us. We will be able to make our payments each month and keep our home!
