I set up an appointment with the Geek Squad for my boyfriend and was told at the time the appointment was for 10am Monday January 2, 2006. I was also told that if I cancelled my appointment in less than the required 2 hours (see their terms of service below) I would be liable for the $129.00 fee. Monday came and at 9:57am I received a call to tell me the agent was not going to make the appointment. I received THREE MINUTES notice. I called back and tried to set up another appointment for today. The agent transferred me to the Guidance department and they told me they did not have any other agents to send out. So I asked them how they could provide 24 hour 7 day service if they did not have any agents available. Shouldn't there be agents on stand by. They told me they could not send someone out and told me to call the Meriden CT Best Buys since they were the ones sending out the agent. I called the Meriden store and they told me that the agent was NOT coming from their store. I called the Geek Squad toll free number again and was told "I am sorry but let me type in your complaint'. I asked if this would result in someone coming out today and I was told no.

So what I gathered from this experience is that their time is worth money but mine is not; that they do not have agents on stand by because no one was available to come out; that Meriden only has one agent so hopefully not more than one person needs assistance in that city at the same time; and that they lie. I am posting this complaint to let others know in advance so they do not lose a day of work waiting just like my boyfriend did. I am a VERY dissatisfied customer. Since 11am this morning when I had made my last call I have not received a call from them with an apology or a solution to this VERY poor display of Customer Service.

You may cancel your order if you give Geek Squad at least 2 hours notice prior to the scheduled performance of services. Cancellations must be completed by calling 1 800 GEEK SQUAD (1 800 433 5778). The payment amount will be fully refunded in the manner the purchase was paid.
