I purchased a 98 Jeep Cherokee from Greatest Deals on 3-8-08. The vehicle needed some minor work that the sales person said would be taken care of. He told us to call on Monday and schedule and appointment. Which that didn't seem right. Why couldn't they keep the vehicle and schedule as soon as possible for the repairs? That in itself peaked my suspisions.

The "sticker" price on the vehicle was $7995, after negotiation with the vehicle I was able to make a deal of $6500. Something just didn't seem right. I had looked at several other vehicles around town within a year of this one for $4000. After I got home with the vehicle to lessen my suspicions, I did some research online about the value. NADA and Kelly Blue book were both within a few hundred dollars of what I paid. As I dug further into research I found that the EXACT vehicle I bought (vin# was shown online) was listed on their website for $3000 less than the "sticker" price.

I was also assured by the sales guy that ALL vehicles come with a 90 day/ 3,000 mile warranty. When it came time for the paper work we were told this vehicle doesn't come with the warranty that it would cost us something like $1500 for a 2 year warranty. The owner Steve Nacht begrudgently honored the 90 day warranty because we were promised it by the salesman.

I put $4000 down on the vehicle and agreed to finance the remaining balance at $100 a week. The information I found on their website that this vehicle was priced nearly $1500 less than I was being "financed" just appalled me. The car would be paid off in less than 2 months with all the added fees. My first payment is due soon, but with other reports I've read on Ripoff Report, I'm very skeptical about the payments being applied.

I agree with Andrew's report last year that something needs to be done. Class action suit, something. Whatever the case may be, I feel I have been screwed.

I am currently disputing multiple problems with Greatest Deals on Wheels in the Vegas area. After filing multiple complaints with the company in person and in writing, they sent me a letter today 4/29/08, that they are closing their doors soon going out of business. This company has seriously screwed me with a vehicle I purchased from them. Their simple answer to me is I bought the vehicle AS IS, and thats it. GWOD simply refuses to help with costs of a long list of items I found out about when a reputable shop provided an inspection for me. Of course after the purchase.

The following is just a sample of my problems I have had with GWOD.

Very poor customer service, the sale price of the vehicle, cash price in person $2,000 more than advertised website price.

GWOD did not pay for warranty provided with the vehicle (not finding out until I needed the warranty 30 days later). I assume no warranty is ever paid for until customer files for service at a shop, saving GWOD money on each and every warranty provided to customers that do not use it within the 90 days / 3,000 mile deadline. I was just lucky to file warranty issues within time, and GWOD was forced to follow through with honoring the warranty that they sold me to begin with.

I had multiple problems through DMV with improper paperwork provided for registration. As soon as the DMV read the name of the company on some paperwork, they immediately told me it was a red flag. Thus proving I am not the only person this has happened to.

GWOD also provided false information on Inspection report at time of sale. They simply checked off GOOD on all items without properly inspecting the vehicle as required. In fact, I took the vehicle back to them to correct an exhaust leak I noticed on the lot the day I bought the vehicle. Their mechanics tried to weld the exhaust manifold crack they found. YOU CANNOT WELD CAST IRON. Thats a band aid just to get me off their lot.

The mechanic even told me that the exhaust manifold was cracked and needed to be replaced. GWOD refused to correct the problem anymore than put some weld on it. The weld has since come loose and it is leaking just as bad as it did the day I first started it.

I have a long list of items found during a proper inspection that clearly shows that GWOD did not provide proper inspection.

This company is trying to leave me absolutely high and dry, with a seriously over priced vehicle that isnt worth a 1/3 of what I paid for it (approx $500 over Kelley Blue Book RETAIL value in EXCELLENT CONDIITION). Excellent condition according to KBB is a vehicle in excellent mechanical and appearance condition. This is simply not the case.

The owner Steve Nacht is a crook, and must be exposed. I would like to find each and every unsatisfied customer and pull together to start a class action lawsuit against this crook and the rest of his disrespectful group. Just days after buying the vehicle, I went in to approach them about the internet price of the vehicle. My original salesman (Jesse) completely ignored me as if I wasnt even there. After speaking to a manager, because Steve was in Miami at his other location, they simply gave me no respectful answer and continued to just ignore me until I left.

They must be stopped before this goes any further.

Warranty Issues

AUTHOR: Brandon - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, April 22, 2008

It has been 30 days since I purchased my vehicle from Greatest Deals. About a week ago I notice a serious problem with one of the tires. The front driver side tire had a large split between the rim and the tire. I took it to a local Goodyear to have the tire replaced and to have a few issues looked at. They recommended that I get a 52 point inspection done. They began work on the tires and said that it would be best to replace them all because each of them were balding and the cords were hanging out.

After they finished with the tires they proceeded with the inspection. By the end of the day they came up with $2,500 worth of major front end repairs that needed to be done. From the front axle boots to differential service to transmission problems, the list goes on and on. That present day I did not have time for anything other than tires. So my girlfriend returned a few days later to see about getting the work that was covered under warranty taken care of.

When the mechanic called the warranty company to get approval to do the work. The warranty company said that our warranty wasn't valid because all the paper work was not turned in. So my girlfriend called the dealer and they simply said that all the paper work was processed online and they warranty is valid. So she called the warranty company and asked why the warranty wasn't valid. She was told that the dealer never paid for the warranty. After a day of calling constantly they finally took care of the issue and got the warranty validated. It seems as though they didn't pay for the warranty in hopes that we wouldn't use it. Since they didn't want to provide it to us to begin with, that was their way of saving a few bucks.
