I had a second Husky ratchet go bad on me after paying out of pocket once already and being denied the lifetime guarantee. I figured what the heck and I splurged on another $30 ratchet thinking what would be the odds of another one going bad. I don't misuse or abuse it in any way.

Well, now it happened and Home Depot is claiming the same thing that if over 90 days I need to go to Husky directly. So I go to Husky website and they say to return any of their products just go straight into Home Depot. I honestly don't have a lot of energy to spend fighting this but it is a little tiring how these corporations always have a way of sticking it to the little guy.

At least now I feel a little better after venting this to anyone who might be reading this and possibly had similar experience. It sure would be nice if people/ entities could sell honest product and honest business. This really is wrong and I wish that someone who liked to battle these types of fraudulent claims would somehow get them to change their policies to match their claims. I am sure it is happening all across America because that is how I got turned onto this website. Good day to all.

husky direct number tool replacement

AUTHOR: John P - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, March 11, 2009

I joined this cite to file another report about homedepot and husky. Avoidig their lifetime guarantees but just found their tool replacement line and they are sending a new one out. So here is the number 1-888-434-8759 it goes to Stanley but they actually take care of you instead of blaming you for not having your receipt after 10+ years or any other excuse they could use...
Hope this helps someone out there I just needed the model number on the wrench

I have worked in returns at the home depot for about 2 years now...you are correct husky is a lifetime tool....however, if there is extensive ware (as in you have obviously used the tool for other then its intended purpose or used it extreamly hard) they will not return it, instead they will set you up with all the manufacturer's information and then husky will replace or exchange the porduct...however if that is not the case and it just broke as you said and the cashier at returns says no, ask for a head cashier....if they say no ask for an 'asm' (assistant manager) now unless you are notorious to this home depot (return a lot of things for store credit with no reciept) the asm will have no problem with the even exchange.... if that doesnt work, call in at another time and ask to speak with the store manager....

what i'm trying to say is you have a better chance trying to speak to a manager about those kinds of things then a head cashier, in my experiance the managers almost always say yes....because its good customer service....

hope i could be helpful

I am sorry for the inconvenience that you had at your home depot store. I work the service desk and have had a few people bring in their husky tools, along with the faucets, and other items that have a lifetime warranty on them. At our store, you would have been greeted, then we would have gotten the department head or someone in the department to bring you a new one, switch the package, and you would have been on your way. I have done this numerous times since home depot is supposed to call the company and receive the RGA and what not. Even on waterheaters I have done this. You should not have had any hassel returning the first one. Trust me, we can make the companies do what we want them to do in a heartbeat. We have even started implementing new customer policies. Again, you just talked to the wrong people at that store.

Try again at home depot.

The husky tool guarantee clearly states to return the tool to home depot. You can see this at the husky tool website:

http://www.huskytools.com/faq.aspx

Further, they contact page also directs tool owners to contact a "sales associate" at a home depot store for assistance:

http://www.huskytools.com/content.aspx?pid=d51eefd0-7a45-4fbf-9326-9d1753eb98ff

I would PRINT the FAQ page from the husky tool website and then go to a Home Depot store near you with the defective tool and the PRINT OUT of the FAQ and request a replacement tool. If necessary ask for the store manager to assist you. If the manager refuses to exchange the tool, then ask the manager to TELEPHONE Husky Tools (while in your presence) to straighten it out.

Good luck.
