The Jewelry Exchange in Dallas uses abhorrent practices to avoid their own mistakes.

I was in search of an engagement ring for my fiance. I chose the Jewelry exchange because of the commercials stating high quality and factory direct pricing.

I initially contacted the store and stated that I had seen several diamonds of interest advertised on the Internet. They proceeded to have the stones sent to the Dallas store.

There I worked with the Stare manager, named Alex, and he showed me the stones that I asked for from teh net. He then showed me a stone that he personally recommended as better than the ones that I was looking at. The price was of course a bit higher than the ones that I was there to see. But since it was to be for a special occasion I thought it would be better to follow his recommendation.

I checked the stone and there were no visible imperfections other than a certain amount of carbon visible when looked at under a loop. I chose the setting and made my purchase.

After I gave the ring to my betrothed, she noticed an imperfection in the edge of the diamond. It was large enough to be visible to the naked eye.

I notified the manager that I was not happy with the ring and asked if something had happened in the mounting process that would account for the noticable imperfection. His only response was that it was the stone that I chose to purchase.

Then he drew in his supporting cast of sales people that inspected the stone and assured me that it was an inclusion or naturally occuring fissure. To that i stated that it was not there when I initially viewed the stone.

The response was the same, only that it was the stone that I purchased.

I have now been fighting with them for 2 months in an attempt for them to make it right and they have stated that they will keep looking for a stone in the same price range. Now, they have only even brought in stones after I have loooked on the interenet and tole them what to bring in and have not brought in anything additional that they thought I would like.

I highly recommend that anyone dealing with them, get the appraisal statement and then have it re appraised subsequent to purchase.

Keep in mind that they don't have a money back policy and will make you run through hoops to fix their mistake.
