The Kitchen And Bath Factory Shoddy products, Unreliable Service and Appalling Owner! Tampa Florida

My mother purchased custom cabinets in excess of $8,000 from The Kitchen and Bath Factory in Tampa (hereinafter "TKABF"). Within weeks, they started peeling and showing the true nature of the type of "craftsmanship" and products this company represents.
So she contacted TKABF regarding replacements, since they came with a warranty. They reluctantly obliged and stated it would be taken care of by the distributor.

One year later and many phone calls to stay on top of them before the warranty expired, she finally gets an answer. TKABF states that the distributor had gone out of business and no longer could supply replacements. My mother understood, but the problem was still unresolved. She suggested having them replace the lining of the cabinets with something comparable. They conceded.

When TKABF arrived (very late of course) to replace the lining on the cabinets, she noticed it was COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, than what she had previously. This would not have been an issue, if they had agreed to replace the same pattern on all cabinets, mouldings, and backing so that everything matched. But they were not willing to do a proper and complete job. Only patchwork, shoddy, unprofessional, "oh it's good enough" work.

As a business owner myself, I would never want a anyone seeing that as a representation of my company.
So the workman leaves and my mother's kitchen is completely destroyed and left in worse shape than before he arrived! So she requested that TKABF remediate the problem, as they should have before.
TKABF's response was, "Well we feel that we have done all that we can for you at this point, and you will need to pay for any additional work?!"

Of course, she couldn't believe her ears and requested to speak with the owner...oh boy. He tells her that there is nothing he can do to assist her further & then proceeds to curse and demean her character!
Now I know what you are thinking...2 sides to every story, but I assure you, she didn't have a moment to get a word in edgewise to even ATTEMPT to tell this owner how unprofessional and irrational he was acting, almost as if he was experienced in this type of behavior and spoke this way to all of his customers.

Needless to say, the next step will be contacting our local Consumer Affairs reporter at WFLA-Channel 8 News tomorrow. An Attorney is scheduled for Thursday.
I hope to assist anyone reading this report who is researching this company and has not had the displeasure of utilizing TKABF's services. If you have been a victim as well PLEASE share your story.
