I attempted to purchase a home in Gilbert AZ in March of 2009. I decided on using The Lending Co. as my Mortgage Broker, Denise Rohwedder was my Mortgage Consultant.
I let her know the terms of my loan upfront and what I needed. I established to her I was a first time home buyer, and that the Bank that owned the REPO home I was purchasing had agreed to pay two thousand ($2000) dollars in closing costs towards the purchase of my home if the home loan would close on or before March 31st.
This gave us just under 3weeks time to close the home loan. She assured me she had closed houses in less than two weeks and this would not be a problem.
She stated it was imperative that I give her any information she would need for the loan as soon as she requested it. I gave her all the information at the time she requested it, and never had to delay any of her requests.
So as the story goes, she didn't make the closing date of the 31st but said she could make the 1st. Which didn't make sense at all. How could one day make all the difference.
Well once she realized I was rather upset, she said well atleast now that your closing in April your first mortgage payment wont be until June, instead of May.
I made sure this was true as now I wouldn't be losing quite so much money as I would be delaying a payment which would help offset the $2000 I lost in closing costs.
Well when I recieved final paper work to sign, the Payment Agreement Sheet said first payment was to be may 1st. When I called her to ask why this was, she said not to worry about it, that there would be no way the bank who they were selling my loan to would receive Docs in time and that the soonest my payment would start was June1st
As May approached I received numerous letters from the bank who purchased my loan from The Lending Co stating my mortgage payment would be due May 1st.
After receiving these I immediately attempted to contact Denise Rohwedder and left a voice mail and I received no calls . I also tried texting her and never received any text or calls back.
I finally turned my frustration to the manager at The Lending Company. His name was Dave and when telling him my story he first told me that he didn't even have any employees by the name of Denise Rohwedder, Then after convincing he told me that he had over 100 employees and didn't know them all...
I explained my story to him and he stated that his company was not liable for his employee completely misleading me. He also stated he wasn't sure why Denise missed my closing date, and when I asked him if he felt they should compensate me for the money I was out, he told me there was nothing he could do. I asked him who I would need to speak with then, and he said he didn't know.
This company Is extremely unethical and whether or not I have any legal grounds, I strongly suggest no one uses them as clearly they are just out to steal your money.

Ty and others.
Want to get their attention just threaten management with your intent to file a complaint with the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions (AZDFI). If they are a legitimate company this will get you aresponse.
In the unlikely event youyou do not get one thenfilea complaint and while you will not receivea responsefrom AZDFI (www.azdfi.gov) overnight you will definitely get one (they send your complaint to the company for a response) and then you can have a direction to a resolution.
Also, not for you Ty, but know that all Arizona loanoriginators have to be licensed as of 2010.
Hope this helps!

"I am very aware of this particular situation and want to express an apology that Ty Gilbert had experience because this is not the normal experience in dealing with the lending company"
First of all your lack of knowledge with the case is evident, My name is not "Ty Gilbert" my signature clearly states" -Ty
Gilbert, AZ
U.S.A"
This demonstrates more of a general lack of concern for their customers as clearly they refuse to spend any amount of time or general interest in their customers well being. You obviously are not very aware of my particular situation because you were not even aware of my last name. Since it is not Gilbert, and that Gilbert is the City where I purchased my house.
As to the comment "cannot satisfy every single customer because of different circumstances that arise" makes me want to do business with you again?! Are you kidding me. You just told any potential client you cannot guarantee them satisfaction?
What kind of business tells their customers they cannot guarantee customer satisfaction?
In a customer service related field YOU do everything you can to make sure your customer is happy. You do not blow off customer as I was treated.
Further you do not attempt to dismiss a complaint by saying you are familiar with the situation when you clearly are not!
Really.....Again.... Another reason why this company is a joke!

Just ran across this complaint by accident and wanted to weigh in on this situation. I am very aware of this particular situation and want to express an apology that Ty Gilbert had experience because this is not the normal experience in dealing with The Lending Company. First of all, let me state that The Lending Company has quite a number of Loan Officers and we cannot monitor every single situation first hand between the customer and Loan Officer.
Ms. Denise Rohwedder is not longer an employee of The Lending Company and has not been for some time because it was not mutually beneficial. I will just leave it at that.
The Lending Company stives hard to maintain an excellent reputation in the community and has done so since 1995. We have many thousands of referrals from our customers over the years and many happy satisfied customers whose loans did fund on time. We will strive to continue to build and maintain good relationships and cannot satisfy every single customer because of different circumstances that do arise.
We are proud of our track record and will continue work to improve in all areas of the loan process.
Sincerely, E. Easley
