I was emailed a job offer from this comapny. Here is the email:
- Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, engage in conflict resolution and routinely interact within other departments.
- Interpret and apply business rules based on customer segmentation and develop business options to create additional value.
- Initiate customer contact for additional orders/products
- Encourage E-Commerce tool utilization by customer base and determine SAP and other system tool improvement options.
- Coordinates forecast information, routes market/customer intelligence, manages Vendor Managed Inventory or consignment.
- Manages Master Data, Logistics Network Data, and inventory data as needed.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, assist in departmental training efforts, and design and implement department policies and procedures as it relates to elevating customer satisfaction.
- Proactively interfaces with customer contacts at all levels of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned.
me: What type of customer service is needed for the Lightning Car Company? Online? Telephone? Live on the website?
David Reed: Before i start i hope you understand that your essential job duties are to develop short- and long-term objectives, goals, and strategies that raise and maintain contact center service and recruit, hire and train new online customer service staff and you must have the ability to work independently (we are not interested in babysitting!)
- Requires above average interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to resolve customer problems and effectively communicate both internally and externally to ensure total customer satisfaction with products and services.
- Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
David Reed: Your pay for this job is $25/hr and Work hours are from 9am-3pm....Mon-Fri and you are also expected online on yahoo IM during working hours.
Daily task will be given to you online via yahoo messenger and also via email

what bank do you operate with and have you ever been penalise for bad transaction? if yes why?
me: Laurentian Bank of Canada. Never penalized for bad transactions.

David Reed: You will undergo a two weeks accounting training course online... you will need a SQ Introcel software and SVG software that will enable you connect online for this course. You will receive money orders from the company and you're to cash this money orders at your bank thereafter you're to send the money via western union to the supplier information that i'll provide to you.
David Reed: I will also like to inform you that the company is located in the UK but i am presently in the US supervising the on going construction of the company in Tyler, TX and Orlando, FL and Canada which will be ready by June this year.
David Reed: once this is done, you will receive the software by UPS in 2days... i will be here to direct you as we proceed
David Reed: I will send you an email containing our employment agreement form. You will receive your full employment package by FedEx during the training period
David Reed: All communication will be done on IM, Email and phone...if you need to reach me and i'm not online then send me an email or call me on (407) 545-2142
David Reed: Do you understand or have any question to ask now?
me: Yes, Why are you sending me money to send by Western Union to suppliers for software training? As an ex-banker, I have to question why you wouldn't just send me the software. Me cashing your money orders could leave me in a vulnerable position should they be returned nsf or fraud. How do I know I can trust you with this?
David Reed: The same wa the company is willing to trust you with the money orders...
me: Is this a test as to my trustworthiness with money in regards to your company? Would it not save time to send the money directly to the software suppliers as opposed to you sending it to me, then from me to them? Also, am I paid for the training?
David Reed: Yes you will be paid for the probation period
David Reed: I will like to inform you that there has been issues within the account department of the company and so they thought it would be great if all home workers handle funds for the purchase of the office supplies themselves and moreover the office supplies will be used by you and not the company....Now i hope you understand why the money order is been send to you, this is to ensure for proper accountability of funds.
me: What kind of issues, please? There are Canadian banking issues when ti comes to foreign money orders. All Canadian banks tend to hold anywhere from 7 to 30 days, depending on the issuing bank. Or could send on collection. Then, I'm actually paying for the software in advance out of my own pocket, on your word alone that the funds are there.
David Reed: How do you mean?
David Reed: Can you pay for the office supplies out of your pocket for now until you get the money orders?
me: No, I can't. Can you send me the packages?
me: I don't know if I even have the job.
David Reed: why do you say so?
me: You want me to buy software for a job that I don;t even know if I have it or not.
me: How much is this software?
David Reed: Just $1500 and you have got the job
me: Prove to me first that this is not a scam.
me: I'm not paying upfront for anything. It would have to come out of your pocket.
David Reed: Send an email to me and i will email the employment forms to you ok
me: Sure but what does that prove?

I was told to do a Yahoo Instant messenger interview with your Recruitment Officer David Reed. On March 8, 2010, I had the interview, Mr. David Reed offered to have your company issue me money orders for accounting computer software needed for my training. I was to deposit the money orders to my bank and send upon his instructions by Western Union to your computer software suppliers and I would received the software 2 days later. The job of the customer service would be mine, if I complied. He then asked, when questioned about the strange arrangement, if I could pay out of pocket for the software. I replied no, believing it to be a scam. Is this your company's way of doing business? Do J. Fisher or D. Reed even work for your company? If not you have a problem. Please let me know ASAP, I have all emails,Yahoo messenger and information copied. If you so require for authorities. I will wait 2 business day for an answer if not I will report this to authorities myself.
