This company sent me a letter informing me that I must "fulfill my obligation" in February of 2010 or they would charge me $65.80 for the four books I had not bought from them yet. When I signed up for this book club, I did recieve a letter stating that in order to receive my "free" books, I must order six more over the year.
Although I had already ordered at least four books, and honestly I believe it was many more than that, I did not argue the point and quickly ordered the four books. Thinking that the matter was done and over with, I let it go.
At the end of March, with no other e-mail or regular mail to let to inform me of a problem, my account was charged $32.90. Frustrated, I contacted them through email immediately and explained that I should not be charged for anything. Three days later, I get a computer generated response stating that I may pick out two books for this amount. I refuse, explain myself again, and demand my money back.
THREE more days... going into four, pass... I get a response late in the evening stating that I had purchased sale books, which did not apply to my "Obligation". No where on any letter or email, or anything on their website states that this is part of my obligation. Further more, my account online only shows this last order, and they have not provided me with a list of all books purchased over the last year. I have once again demanded my money and asked to cancel my account. No where on the website does it say how to do this, nor give a phone number ANYWHERE!
On DAY 7 of this frustrating situation, I wait, once again for a response, and will update this complaint IF I ever receive one.
I highly suggest, to all, to avoid this website!
