Ok, so I get this postcard in the mail, 1 month after my big promotion to executive management. It stated since I was a successful women, I was nominated to be a part of this "elite" publication- to celebrate my professional success, and personal recognition of achievement.
Wow! How cool is that?
Then, after mailing the post-card, I get a phone call, from "Leeann Kelly" who is obviously reading a script. She congratulated me, briefly interviewed me, and quick got to the pitch-- buy our platinum membership-- you get all this, or our bronze, which only included..
But I informed her I wasn't spending money today; so she reminded me that I was to 'celebrate' my accomplishments, and enjoy the ability to network with the elite.
What a bunch of whooie, but I continued to listen.
Then, she offered me some deal reserved for NPO's, and bragged on what I would get. When she got to the price I finally interrupted and said "I am not spending any money" BUT she kept going (reading) as if I didn't even speak!
So finally, figuring this was going nowhere, I just hung up.
Don't get sucked in, your "status" is elite enough, and this is really just an organization to take your money. If you did fall for them, check out poetry, at least expand your creative horizons and feel good too. Ha ha ha.

First, I would like to congratulate you for not falling victim to this scam. Sadly, many people do and quite honestly, it is easy to understand why. Manchester Who's Who sales representatives make people feel special and important --for a fee.
It is a HARD SELL. The representatives will try to swindle you into spending 800, 500, 300, and finally 100 in an attempt to make money on you. The best way to avoid the phone call is to throw out the postcard they send you in the mail. You see, they buy your name from a "professional" magazine you might subscribe to, or an association you belong to. Then they send a post card "application." On this post card they ask for your phone number. When they call you, they will then tell you that you filled out an application etc etc.
Then, they will "interview" you. Ask your acomplishments and tell you they are "well deserved" Finally they will hit you up for money for a service you don't need and they really don't provide.
If you get swindled and try to cancel your membership, they will tell you that you cannot. They will put you through to a finance manager who will tell you that you purchased something that was made especially for you and therefore non-refunable. DO NOT BUY IT. In reality all they do is print up your information on a normal printer and send it out in fancy paper. In fact, paper is discarded frequently due to employee error so do not believe them when they tell you that you cannot cancel. You have the right to and you can.
I only worked at this company for a short time. But during my time there I heard many people mistreated, verbally harassed and made a fool. Please do not buy into this organization, it is a waste of your money and you will get nothing out of it but a lighter bank account.
