I would like to again point out that these issues have now been resolved, I would also like to state that in my anger I said some things which where not true about the folks in question.

Simply put this was a business deal which went wrong and could have been handled a lot better. For the anger and slander I gave to George and mel I apologise and hope now this will be the end of it as I'd hate for this to keep going.

They where good people to us while we where there, as I say a business deal gone horribly wrong then I jumped the gun in anger.

I am the original author of this rippoff report, I would like to publicly respond here to confirm that these issues have now been resolved, the Jelley family have been in touch and we've worked things out.

My apologies to them for this public review, it was though the only way I could think  of to get their attention, in hingsight I think I could have handled it a bit better, anyway issue has been resolved and I wish them good luck in the future.

This women is a known liar and everything she has said here is lies!!

Once she had our money she didn't confirm receipt of it for 2 weeks in which time I had phoned and emailed several times with no success on reaching them. We began to hear A LOT of bad stories from residents on the Island about the sellers, we where told the bar was in ruins making no money and to get out wile we still could.

So I gave the benefit of the doubt and asked their daughter if I could see the past years books, to which I was told "oh we never kept book" this right away confirmed what we'd been hearing, they where trying to flog off a dead business because who on earth does not keep books for their business! 

On top of all this my own father had a major stroke, so I kindly asked the sellers to return my money based on the fact that it had been just 2 weeks since it had been sent and that my father was ill plus the no books bullshit. They refused stating that like everything in life deposits are non refundable...

This isn't some small deposit on a dress or suit this is 10,000 euros which they DID SCAM us into giving them because they made out the bar was profitable then when approached for the books claimed there was none? Any wise business man would have done the same as me and ran a mile! These people where up to their necks in debt to the landlord so no doubt they used our money to clear the debts of their failing business, idiots.

My partner and I are 26 and 24, she is pregnant too and we are just starting out in life, these people are in their late 50s, shame on you both to take this money from us in such a deceitful fashion. 

By the way, this isn't over we just signed forms on Thursday to take you all the way to court, so your illusion that this was over and your solicitors advice is completely wrong.

I'm going to take you both to the cleaners mark my words on that, the fact you have spun this web of lies here to present yourself as the victim just makes me more determined now, my online campaign was stopped  until I seen this, now it will intensify 10 fold... Silly little woman

My name is listed on the report title and I am joint owner of a bar in Costa Teguise Lanzarote with my husband George.  Our bar was on the market for sale and the buyer was to recieve our lease. fixtures and fittings and the goodwill of the bar.  The person who wrote this report after visiting us in the bar befriended our daughter and her partner an spproached them and asked if they could buy the bar details can be found on the  Estupendo  estate agents web page in Lanzarote.  We were offered half of the asking price and decided that we would give the other half to our daughter so that her and the purchaser could become partners.  Arrangements for a deposit to be paid were made in November for the completion to be in January, we instructed our accountant here to draw up paperwork toi this effect but the purchaser made no attempt to visit to sign.  At the end of December we recieved an email to see they no longer wished to proceed and asked for the deposit to be returned.  We sought legal advice and under spanish law the purchaser was not entitled to a refund of this we nicely explained this and advised that the person involved could come to the island to sign paperwork to this effect or we could give maybe some compensation if we did sell the bar.  The person who wrote this report then started a hate campaign on trip advisor who then removed all comments and personally to us by email we receieved threats that as the person used the internet for aliving they would destroy our reputaion and therefore our business.  I have casn prove all this as i still have all the e mail copies.  Our fewllow bar owners and friends in lanzarote have rallied to our support and helped to remove distructive comments.  We did not stoop   to the same level of threats even when our physical well being had been threatened.  The purchaser then employed a spanish lawyer whos sent us a letter which we forwarded to oue solicitor who advised us to ignore it.  They then tried to call us they said to reach an amicable agreement which we refused and advised them to write to us and we would then forward this to our solicitor, this never happened and we have heard no more from them as they arfe well aware that legally they dont have any right to the funds. This was not excepting or scamming a tourist for money it was a bonafide business agreement of which the purchaser made no attempt to folllow us up to receive paperwork on the deal.he decided to try and threaten us instead which has caused untold distress to all our family.  The reason we changed the name of the  bar is that Infinity was the name our daughter and partner gave the bar and thanks to the harrassment that we have recieved our daughter no longer has anything to do with the bar. please check trip advisor and facebook from the great comments we have always receieved from our customers.   Also be aware that we have never tried to scam anybody and have not excepted any money other than for food and drink from tourists in our bar.  If the purchaser feels he can prove that his spanish solicitor felt he was entitled to his funds back then let him prove this in writing. As far as I can see you have printed this story without any evidence.  He calls it a scam because  he thinks it gets more publicity.  Anyone is welcome to approach us for any further information.
