The Model Shop Audition America Mall Model Search Fort Lauderdale Florida

The Model Shop or Audition America is a rip off.  Once you sign up to be a contestant in their model search, the rip off begins.  You PAY a fee to have sub quality photos completed on a CD, and then they send you a Kinko’s put together book of these poor photos and expect you to choose the best photo, and have it placed on comp cards. This was a $300 expense. Once you have completed this poorly put together photo shoot, they want you to PAY to be in there talent portion of the model search where all those who have PAID money,

will receive a one year contract with The Model Shop; even though it is continuously advertised as ONE winner for the one year contract. After you receive the winner letter in the mail, you must have comp cards completed and sent to the agency for the bookers to book auditions; in addition to gain access to the casting board for your own research of auditions taking place.  What they do not tell you is the company producing these comp cards, is the same model company.  

So in addition to the $300 for the terrible photo shoot, you will be paying them an extra $200 for comp cards that are terrible quality as well.  However, once you have PAID out roughly $500, you will not receive any contact from the agency, nor will you be able to access the casting board due to constant reconstruction of the website.  It has now been 6 months since my daughter was awarded a contract and I have yet to hear from a booker or access the website.  I have sent numerous emails detailing my concerns and have yet to hear from ANYONE from this agency.  

I was leery about this process from the beginning but the excitement and enthusiasm my daughter had to be a part of this process deterred my scam radar.  I am writing this, hoping individuals will research this company and see the post from individuals who have been scammed by this company and its operators.  Also, I think it is horrible that area malls will let these individuals set up their stages to scam people out of money.  They should do some research on the company as well before letting people rent space.
