I asked Brenda (hair stylist) to trim and layer my hair. Brenda chopped off the front of my hair and now it looks like i have a bob in the front and long hair in the back.
I called the next day to report this and to ask for another stylist to fix my hair and I was told that the same person that messed up my hair would have to fix it. I explained that I do not want Brenda who obviously does not know how to cut hair to try and fix it and then mess up my hair even more.
I asked for the owner's name and they would not give it to me. There is obviuosly no way this company is willing to fix their error and so I feel it is necessary to report them to your bureau.
Thank you.

Brenda should not fix the do
AUTHOR: The Purple Squirrel - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Monday, March 01, 2010
This is a very old post but as a stylist I wanted to say Brenda shouldn't be the one to repair the hair style. She obviously didn't understand the client the first go around. Brenda wouldn't do any good at repairing the clients experience. If Brenda listened to her client and would work slower more precise in her cuts the client would have ample opportunity to ask her to stop at any point of the service. Talking to the client and assuring that client that Brenda is the Pro is key. Understanding what the client seeks is vital. If the salon states only Brenda can repair it and that is the only solution given it is a cop-out. A stylist shouldn't wear her/his heart on his sleeve. If there is another stylist who is there doing nothing at the moment its just good PR to offer to repair what seems to be the problem or another cut more complimentary to the client for FREE. (saying that Brenda should offer a percentage of the money she made off this angry client to the repairing stylist) Its loving your profession. The salon would gain a satisfied client. On the other side of the coin...she may never be satisfied and you just have to do better the next go around.

Sorry, Peter.........your wrong

Peter, you have this one wrong....your example of a meal in a restaurant is very different the a butch job on a persons hair. Would you continue to take your car to a mechanic that severly damaged your engine? Would you go back to a surgeon that initially operated on the wrong part of your body? Yes, you would expect these things to be corrected by the same facility, thus getting what you paid for, but wouldn't you want a more experienced mechanic, a more knowledgably physician, within that organization to correct the mistake? This I think is commen sense, just as you analogy about the restaurant is commen sense.......they, however apply to 2 very different things.. Most women consider the hair to be a "crown" on their head and a very large part of how the perseve themself and an import issue for their self-esteem. A woman (and in some cases a man) cannot feel good about themselves if it looks like little elves hacked away at their hair while sleeping. The salon should have accepted her request to have someone other then this stylist fix her hair. That is a very reasonably request.
to the letter writer....the only reason I can think of is often times hair stylists are self employed, meaning the "rent" a chair at a buisness, but pretty much set their own rates and don't get a paycheck from the salon, although I can't help but imagine that there must be certain behaviors that would govern these contracts for the business, as it is thier name and reputation at stake. I don't know, just an idea for an explaination. Good Luck...and if nothing else, your hair will grow out, but you probably should just spend the money, if you haven't already, and go some where else and try to have it fixed, after all you have to walk around and be seen with it!

blah blah blahhhh!!!!

Your rebuttal is lacking in common sense. If this woman does not want the original stylist to fix her hair, then that is fine. But she cannot turn around and claim that the salon is ripping her off, when they did indeed try to resolve the problem. The woman decided to decline their offer. It is not up to the salon to make a second offer to her.
Why should a different salon fix this woman's hair, and do so for free? It is not any other stylist's fault, so why be punished with having to provide services at no charge to make amends for a situation they did not create?
Would you go into a restaurant, and after consuming your meal, complain to the manager that the food was no good, and then demand for them to pay for you to eat another meal at a different restaurant?
That is exactly the type of behaviour you are exhibiting in this salon!!
You have two options: either accept the salon's offer to have the original stylist fix your hair, or obtain additional services from the person of your choice fix your hair at your own expense.

Peter, "moron-of-all-subjects"!

I knew you would show up as soon as someone had a bad hair day at the stylists. Just can't help yourself, can ya'?
Let me ask you this: if you go to the barber for a little trim and he shaves your head bald, are you going to go back to the same barber the next time and allow him to do it again?
Be careful how you answer this; it is a trick question! Don't smoke your brain cells figuring out the answer (or have you already done that?)

A BAD HAIR DAY
AUTHOR: Linda - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, October 08, 2003
Peter, there isn't a gal in the world that would go back to a hairstylist that previously butchered her hair! She requested that another, and probably more experienced stylist, repair the damage and she was denied. Her request was not too much to ask, and any reputable salon would have bent over backwards to "make it right." Women talk, and the reputation of this salon is seriously at stake. If she tells her gal friends of her horrible experience, and they tell their friends, and so on and so on.

There is NO ripoff here!

You have NOT been ripped off!
You state, and I quote, "There is obviuosly no way this company is willing to fix their error and so I feel it is necessary to report them to your bureau."
However, previously you stated that the salon was willing to have "Brenda" re-do your haircut.
As you can see, they DID offer you a solution to the problem at hand. Just because you do not LIKE the solution, does not mean that the company did not try to resolve the problem, and does not mean that you were ripped off.
Get over it! Either let "Brenda" fix your haircut as agreed upon by the salon (if they are still willing to help you after you filed this ridiculous report against them), or pay to have it done somewhere else.
