Complaint Review: The Ranch - Nunnelly Tennessee

I entered the Ranch, also known as www.recoveryranch.com, in Tennessee and from day one I felt a bad vibe about the place. First, they take away your cell phones, and you can't make calls nor can you even call your kids for 7 days. I feel the staff wasn't really trained to deal with people who have all kinds of addictions. I also had a bad experience where I accidently left my ipod and camera in Mark's car on the way to the airport and he never gave them back to me. This place should be avoided at all costs. It should be called Shutter Island because when you go there, the people are not normal. The staff is dishonest too.

Please email me privately, as I am about to fork over a ton of money to go to the ranch ( sept 2013)

Dear former patient:
please please email me privately, as I am about to make a decision $$$$$ to go the ranch ( sept or October 2013)
did you stay the entire contracted time.?? If not, did you receive any kind of refund?
All rehabs :
1) Do NOT allow electronics ( I agree with that)
2) need to enforce boundaries for all addictions. (VERY necessary)
3) piss of their patients/clients at different intervals ( part of the process)
so please email or tell me here why this place should be AVOIDED more so than any other strict/addict-annoying rehab facility?
dont clients hate all rehab staff?
thanks,
Piper

Addiction treatment

Is for you to focus on your addiction and issues. Usually you are not even allowed to bring in a cell phone or any other forms of communication so you can get help not make phone calls to your friends and family. Some treatment centers required residents to stay at least 6 months and AA/NA asks that addicts/alcoholics refrain from starting new relationships because the focus once again is about your addiction and issues related to such.

Does this mean you still have your addiction?

Sounds like you're not too happy with their methods.
It must be difficult when the patient is smarter than the staff. :)
