This company (The Real Estate Network, LLC), and it's owners (Scott Morris and Matt Garcia III) are the biggest real estate ripoffs around! To make a long story short, I attended a real estate investing conference from these guys and they convinced myself (along with around 50 others) to attend their "boot camp." It costed me $6,719 in certified funds and three full days of classroom work and travel.

What did they promise in return? A wealth of easy money created by real estate investing! They promised access to funds, including they're company out of TX - Excel Mortgage, who is one of the hardest, most expensive mortgage lenders around. They can't even fund foreclosures bought in the state of UT because state law says that a 24 hour funding has to happen (Excel takes a minimum of 72 hours). Also, we (the attendees) were promised easy and quick access to the two owners, but they both take a few days to answer emails, and we were never given their cell phone numbers (contrary to what they told us). Stated in the contract is also that we'd talk to other members of the company ONLY if Scott or Matt were inaccessable, but then we were directed to NOT contact those two unless we couldn't get a hold of the other members.

They also promised us that they'd air an infomercial on local TV that would send tons of wholesale properties our way. Has it happened, yet? NO! Will it ever? Of course not! When I asked the SLC contact what happened regarding the TV spot, he has no idea either! I believe they charged him a pretty price to be the "special contact" for this deal, also (to be our "wholesale contact."

So, what else was put in the contract? That we had to split our profits on our first five properties with TREN in exchange for this "mentoring." WHAT MENTORING?! We have NO access to the monies they promised us, we have hardly ANY access to anyone to mentor us (they fired the guy that was our "first contact" almost immediately after the boot camp, and the all left town - they live in TX). The contract itself seems incorrect - it states that it doesn't end until the profits of the five properties are split, but it also stated that the mentoring only lasts 6 months.

After the three day boot camp, none of us have received ANY type of mentoring, even after trying to contact these ripoff artists!!! Oh, also - if you attended their boot camp in the state of CO, you only had to split your first two properties - ??? Why are they so inconsistant???

Anyway, if you ever hear of this company - The Real Estate Network, LLC, or of Scott Morris or Matt Garcia III, RUN AWAY!!! If anyone else has been a victom of this scam, please also post your thoughts on here. Maybe there's something we can ALL do about at least getting our $6,719 returned back to us.

Scott has moved on to conning people to be an OIL Trader... LOL

AUTHOR: Jeff - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, February 25, 2013

Scott Morris is something else. A couple of years ago he decided he found something new to peddle and it is a product that promises great wealth easily, just follow his proven system, and if you don't succeed, it most certainly is not his fault! Sound familiar?? Scott is nothing more and nothing less than a marketer and he focuses his efforts of various methods that are typical of scam artists where they KNOW it will be difficult to hold them accountable.

One of the worst places to find scammers, are those that sell real estate programs. They claim riches doing what they do and YOU CAN DO IT TOO except they really don't do it, they just sell information to YOU so YOU can do it and they get rich convincing you that they have some sort of magic formula to create riches.

Well, you saw how that worked out with Scott unfortunately as he got rich but then his lavish lifestyle had him file BK and then it was onto the next sheme.

Another VERY prevalent area for big promises of riches is day trading in the stock market, Futures, and Forex. This is ripe for scammers. It only makes sense Scott would show up here. He has something called www.theoilmoney.com where he peddles various systems and advice at how easy it is to scalp and make big dollars trading oil and other futures etc.

Early on, the stuff he was selling, was totally amateur hour stuff but I would imagine, which is marketing prowess, he got a lot of suckers to buy. Then he got a guy on board named Aldo LaGrutta who is a fairly famous guitar player and and self described expert day trader and now Scott is pushing him and his various systems, which have morphed about 7-8 times now to different systems and websites with these 2 guys.

Bottom line, it is more of the same. So far, Scott prides himself as being an internet marketing genius and he will readily admit, at least he did to me, that he doesn't trade. He is the marketing genius. I don't know if Aldo trades or not and I am not saying that Aldo doesn't at least seem to have a sense of what he is talking about. I will say that even if ALDO does have an idea of what he is talking about, he is not a very good teacher. It may have something to do with a language barrier. I don't know.

What I can say is they keep changing products about every 4-6 weeks and each one is THEE holy grail until the next one comes out and then that one is FOR SURE THEE hold grail etc.

Basically, they are working really hard to find a sweet spot of marketing and a product that will sell like crazy and the marketing techniques are nothing short of embarrassing but I suppose it works and they rope in a few unsuspecting.

The best way to know if people peddling this kind of crap really know what they are doing is have them PROVE it for you to see. If they really are as good as they say, then they should have NO PROBLEM demonstrating their system on DEMO mode right there in front of your eyes to see as they take trade after trade. There is nothing wrong with doing that but you will not see folks that are MORE THAN LIKELY JUST SELLING A PRODUCT and not really making money trading, do that for you.

To not make money doing what they are doing but to claim they are selling you the method of how to do it... Hmmmm... Sound familiar?

His focus on doing this sort of thing is extremely low overhead and just involves having some very common indicators on a trading program, renaming them to something fancy, calling them his own, calling his latest variation as of this writing www.evolutiontradingprotocols.com and telling you it is the holy grail and sit back and pad your wallet. for this, he will only charge you $3K to $5K or more. Remember, it is about the 7th or 8th hold grail strategy they have sold in the past 2 years.

Just warning you, he is at it again.

Victims: Report this company to authorities

AUTHOR: Dennis - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 22, 2006

Having read the rebuttal Mr. Morris has posted to my report about the Real Estate Network, and finding that rebuttal to contain misrepresentations and inaccuracies, and continuing to have promises made by Scott A. Morris go unfulfilled, I would not believe a word Morris has written or said at any time.

I encourage all victims of this company to file complaints with;

The Austin TX Better Business Bureau,
http://www.centraltx.bbb.org

The Attorney General of TX,
http://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/consumer.shtml

the Attorney General of the state where TREN conducted business with you,

and the Federal Trade Commission.
http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/consumer/home.html

If reports are true that Morris and his partner are felons convicted of fraud, the proper authorities need to be notified to help protect other consumers. Any additional information that can be posted regarding reported convictions of Mr. Morris and his partner, Matt Garcia, would be helpful. At the very least, it appears that there is a pattern of unfulfilled promises and withholding of refunds by this company which should be investigated by law enforcement.

Thank you to all who are spending time and energy in order to hold this company and its founders accountable.

Scott will make it right -- yea, right!

AUTHOR: Judi - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 08, 2006

Scott always promises to "make it right", but never keeps his promises. He and Matt are like drive by shooters who breeze into town, take your money, make promises and run. Fortunately, there have been enough of us band together to warn others of their deceitful ways -- don't forget, both Matt and Scott are CONVICTED FELONS! Geesh--- wish I'd known that before I trusted them with my money! Sometimes you just have to learn the hard way.

The good news is, TREN is about out of business folks -- now be on the lookout for 800400BANK -- run by the same scam artists. They'll take your money, they'll make promises, they'll laugh all the way to the bank. If you go after them, they'll huff and puff and threaten all kinds of law suits -- but frankly, they can't blow your house down. They are impotent.

The Truth

AUTHOR: Scott - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, September 01, 2006

My name is Scott A. Morris one of of two proud founders of The Real Estate Network. I have responded to the other two posts on this web site who at least have the guts to identify themselves. This person does not even leave his or her first name.

A lot of what this person says inuendo. He askes questions like "Will it ever happen"? And then he answers his own question with, "of course not".

I have received no complaint from Salt Lake City telling me I am difficult to reach. I am working with several of our students there and we are having success there as we have in every city.

This person may be unhappy because they did not go out and use our system. Statistics tell us that only 10% of people who attend training seminars or buy business opportunities do anything with them, and of that 10% only 1% succeed. Is this because the systems don't work? No, the reality is that most people are to busy making a living to make any real money. It's not our fault, and it may not be theirs either. What I do know is that I am dedicated to my work and to achieving greater and greater financial success. Getting up at 5AM every morning and working until late hours, traveling all over the country every week logging hundreds of thousands of air miles, and never quiting are only a few of the things I do every day to stay ahead and get ahead.

This person should ask himself "what am I doing every day to achieve success"? The answer is right there in your daily routine, not in what you got or did not get out of TREN's boot camp. We gave you the tools to succeed as a real estate investor. If you chose to look for problems instead of solutions, there is nothing I can do to stop your spiral toward failure.

Taking out frustrations as a nameless complainer on an internet web site is just plain unfair and mean and you should be ashamed. This person knows me and this person knows I am not the person he describes in his complaint. I challenge him to reveal his identity so that we may have a discussion about the things he is unhappy with. If I have dropped the ball, I will pick it up and make it right.

Thanks,

Scott A. Morris

The Real Estate Network, & Scott Morris & Matt Garcia III Ripoff! Promises, promises, and nothing in return (even though signed contract says differently). Austin Texas

AUTHOR: Tren - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, August 04, 2006

These guys really are ripoffs! To make a long story short (as much as possible), I attended a three day boot camp with The Real Estate Network, LLC, lead by the two owners Scott Morris and Matt Garcia III. The boot camp covered real estate investing.

It was in Salt Lake City February 16-18, 2006. It costed me, along with the other 50 people who attended (we were all picked and accepted) the entrance fee of $6,719. In return, we were promised many things, including financing, mentoring, connections to the resources needed to do real estate investing, along with much more.

What did we get in return? Two guys who sold us a few home-made books to guide us, a mortgage company based out of TX for hard money loans (who can't even close a UT foreclosure loan in the 24 hours allotted by UT foreclosure law it takes the company 72 hours minimum to close a hard money loan) called Excel Mortgage, three days of travel and expenses (we had to pay for our own parking and food), and hardly anyone available to guide us and answer our questions when needed.

Oh yeah we also have to split the profits of our first five investment properties with TREN. But wait that's only if you're in a state other than Colorado. The people from CO who joined TREN still had to pay the $6,719, but they only have to split the first two properties. They also received 60 days of access to TREN's DTC office (the computer room, bi-weekly conference calls, TV leads, etc.).

They promised us that we'd be able to access them and their knowledge when needed, but truth is they hardly ever answer emails, and the only phone number we have for them is the one that tells us when the next seminar is. They promised us that we'd have their cell phone numbers!

They even put in the contract only if Matt or Scott is not available will you be working with another member. Well, they gave us a cell phone number to another member as our first contact, then fired him within one month!

Speaking of contracts it states in one part that the contract isn't to end until five properties are split, but another that we're to only receive training, mentoring, and coaching for six months. Most of the time, it can take that much time to just get into your first investment property! Something like that (being stated in contracts) already sounds like it's either been breached, broken, or something of that matter (to make it already void).

Even if not at that point, we were given access (the sign on and password) to TREN's website, which contains some information to help us (videos and contracts, etc.), but that has already been terminated, and our six months isn't even up yet! So there's another way that it's been breached!

Another un-fulfilled promise is that they were going to do a TV spot in the SLC area. This was supposed to have created many, many leads from homeowners who wanted to sell their homes. You'll have access to hundreds and thousands of homes at wholesale price with this TV spot is what they promised us.

They even interviewed several members, and picked one to be the Master Wholeseller, and I understand that he was charged a large amount to become that specific guy. What happened to the TV spot? Who knowsI've asked several times and the response I kept getting was it should be on the air soon. Nope it never happened. Just another broken promise.

What kind of access did they give us to contractors? Ask your fellow SLC TREN members who they use is what we were told. A lot of the training included information that's specific to the market in TX, and is completely void in UT. Example: HUD home bidding laws are completely different in the two states. So are foreclosure laws. How do I know this? Because I was so excited after them telling me how easy it is to go out there and get homes, I tried every way I can, and had to learn myself. I could have done that without paying $6,719.

If anyone out there hears the name The Real Estate Network, LLC, or Scott Morris, or Matt Garcia III, run away!!! They're scam artists, frauds, money-grabbers, and ripoff artists! If anyone has fallen victim to their scams, please get in contact with me and together maybe there's a lawyer who will help us, or something we can do to at least get our $6,719 back.

Contact me at (((email address ROR redacted))).
