I began working with the Swaby Law Firm in October of last year. Within a few days I began to realize that Attorney Lola Swaby was very unethical in numerous ways. She ripped off clients by overcharging them for work that she didn't even do. In addition she refused to deal with clients and was subjecting me to having to deal with clients who were angry with her and disappointed with her work. She threatened me in losing my job if I didn't sign court documents when she was out of town on vacation. During the time that I was there I raised the standards, work was finally getting done, clients were becoming happy and the firm was finally being run as a firm.

Attorney Swaby ripped me off in many ways: (1) first she re-nigged on our agreed salary; (2) she allotted me vacation days, sick days, personal days, snow days and some federal holidays which I was eligible for after the 90 days probationary period. After the 90 days she decided to give me another letter changing the timeframe to 6 months simply because she did not want to pay me for Martin Luther King Day; (3) she gave me an advanced pay of $1400 which was repayable in $100 increments every 2 weeks. After the first payment she terminated me because I expressed how I felt about many of her practices. She then later forged my name on a document called a "Confession of Judgment" and filed it with the court. The fact that someone can do that and get away with it simply because she is an attorney is simply unacceptable, but due to the fact that she knows that there is almost no recourse she will continue to lie, cheat, manipulate, disrespect and abuse not only her employees but her clients.

Attorney Swaby has behaved in many immoral and unethical manner and simply because there is that unwritten code of ethics amongst attorneys that they do not want to go after other attorneys. She even violated my rights by making a discriminatory statement to me on my last day stating to her sister that "this is the reason why we didn't want any black people working in our office".

I responded to her court filings and she responded with more lies and more documents that she made up and cannot produce originals, where is the justice. I know that there are several clients out there who would file complaints against her if only they felt that something would be done.

She needs to be stopped because someone like her should not be practicing any form of law. The Supreme Court in each state sets standards that governs attorneys but what's the use of having them if attorneys like her are allowed to continue to practice.

Clients Comments regarding the quality of work provided by The Swaby Law Firm, LLC and Attorney Lola Swaby

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 15, 2008

I felt compelled to provide anyone reading this matter with excerpts from the affidavits filed in the court case The Swaby Law Firm, LLC v. Karen ----, Case No. 2201-CV-08 before the Court of Common Pleas. See below:

Affidavits from Clients of The Swaby Law Firm, LLC.

Client One: I was faxed with the arduous task of taking care of insurance and burial issues, in behalf of my children who are too young to undertake such responsibilities. After encountering several difficulties trying to address these issues on my own, I relented, realizing my need of a lawyer. Before being a lawyer, I know Lola Swaby for her personal integrity, strength of character, strong sense of right and wrong, sense of justice and commitment to fulfill her personal and other obligations. It is not surprising that these qualities remain and have suffused her professional practice as a lawyer. Due to these considerations, I have retained this law firm to handle my petition for guardianship of the property of my minor child. This law firm was also instrumental in having the insurance company disperse funeral expense payments to the funeral home, after several months of delay. So far, in all my dealings with the firm regarding my case, I have dealt with Ms. Swaby, I am very pleased and satisfied with the level of professionalism and quality of service I am receiving. This often extends above and beyond the call of duty. Consequently, I would not hesitate to use this firm for future legal services.

Client Two: I am pleased with The Swaby Law Firm as my representative since September 2007. During this time, I am most confident in The Swaby Law Firm's ability to represent me in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. The law Firm handled all matters with diligence and keeps me informed of all development regarding my case. This was done with written correspondence and phone calls from the law firm. I am privileged to have The Swaby Law Firm represent me. I would very much recommend The Swaby Law Firm to friends and family in future matters because the Firm's reputation is built on integrity and professionalism.

Client Three: Lola Swaby and I have had the pleasure of working together since November 2007, when she was hired by my company to handle all of my legal needs. I was in need of an attorney to set up my business, develop a contract and handle my trademarking. Lola implemented the startup of my business and spent the time necessary to ensure that [the company] was properly set up in a professional manner. I believe Lola Swaby is an exceptional attorney. She has been my mentor and has strive to help me make improvements. I admire her commitment to help me do well in my area of expertise. Her commitment to excellence should be valuable to any organization interested in having their legal needs taken care of quickly and professionally.

Client Four: I have been a client of The Swaby Law Firm since July 2007. The Swaby Law Firm handled my affairs and surrendered services to me in a very professional and prompt manner. I am very much satisfied with Ms. Swaby and I will continue to use The Swaby Law Firm.

Client Five: I have endured outstanding services from The Swaby Law Firm and without hesitation would recommend Lola M. Swaby to small business owners in need of a honest, reliable and professional attorney. Lola M. Swaby met all of my company's deadlines and educated me along the process of completing services. Without a shadow of a doubt, I would enter any legal battle for my business with The Swaby Law Firm in my corner.

Client Six: I have had the pleasure of working with Lola Swaby and The Swaby Law Firm since October 2006, when her legal offices were located next door to my business offices. At present Lola M. Swaby, Esq. and The Swaby Law Firm continues to serve as my legal counsel. Lola M. Swaby and The Swaby Law Firm have handled numerous Real Estate Transactions and other legal matters on my behalf and have always handled my legal needs with the utmost professionalism, courtesy and accuracy. During my professional relationship with Lola M. Swaby, Esq., I have never known her to be unprofessional or disrespectful to me or any other client who visited her law offices. It has been a pleasure working with Lola M. Swaby, Esq. and The Swaby Law Firm and I would not hesitate to recommend any one to them or continue to utilize their services.

Client Seven: I have known Lola M. Swaby since 1994 and had the opportunity to observe her behavior in a wide variety of personal situations. During this time, I watched Lola evolve from an eager law student to the successful attorney she is today. I have known Lola to be a smart, confident individual who always follow the correct rules of law. She is also ethical, conscientious, and law abiding. Furthermore, I have know Lola as a self-employed attorney to check and double check all documents that leaves her office. I have never known Lola to allow a non-attorney to act on her behalf. Lola has always embodied professionalism when she handled a civil matter for me. She was very discrete and no one knew that I was her client except the persons I informed.

Client Eight: This is to affirm that the Swaby Law Firm has completed the filing of papers necessary for me to organize my new LLC, successfully. Ms. Swaby went over and above the initially contracted commitment and all efforts, on my behalf, were completed to my satisfaction.

Client Nine: This letter serves as a character letter for Ms. Swaby. I had the pleasure of meeting her two years ago concerning family assistant issues. She accommodated my time frame as a commuter and her professionalism was astounding. She advised me in the most sincere way I felt any legal professional can and her timelessness regarding my legality aided in my learning more about her on a personal level rather than only perceptional level. Her integrity, professionalism and timelessness speaks volume to me even when I dropped by her office without an appointment. She is a sincere and intelligent legal officer and I hope this letter reflect how much she has helped me [..].

Affidavits of Other Employees 0f The Swaby Law Firm:

Employee One: I entered with Attorney Swaby from May 2007 through August 2007. During this time I was able to learn the basic fundamentals of the law in an environment that demanded professionalism and commitment. Attorney Swaby always pushed for excellence and encouraged me to work to the best of my ability. She is very respectful and personable. While working at The Swaby Law Firm, LLC, I was required to answer the phones, file documents, research, assist with the drafting of documents (which were often dictated by Attorney Swaby), and complete any other necessary duties. As a novice to the law field, I frequently had questions. Attorney Swaby was always approachable, prepared to answer any questions, and willing to share her knowledge. Attorney Swaby always reviewed and approve any and all documents that were sent out by The Swaby Law Firm, LLC or given to clients. I never once heard her raise her voice, take anything out of context or say anything disrespectful. I had a wonderful experience working with Attorney Swaby and have already made plans to work with her again for the summer of 2008.

Employee Two: I had the pleasure of working with Attorney Swaby in early 2007 when I became a part-time employee of The Swaby Law Firm. During the time I've known Attorney Swaby, and worked with her at The Swaby Law Firm, I have never seen or known her to be abusive or aggressive towards any clients or others, or act in any unprofessional manner. Rather, Attorney Swaby was always professional, courteous, patient and respectful; everyone who came into the office had nothing but good things to say about her and the work she did on their behalf. In fact, prior to working with The Swaby Law Firm, I had little or no office or computer experience, and Attorney Swaby and her sister, [...] who serves as the firm's IT Administrator, were patient in teaching me the firm's management system and maneuvering through the firm's computer system, even when I asked the same question more than once. My tenure with The Swaby Law Firm ended because I felt that Attorney Swaby needed someone working with her who had more than my limited computer experience (even though Attorney Swaby offered to send me to various computer classes and provide additional computer training). The Swaby Law Firm was so busy during that time, and wanting nothing but the best for Attorney Swaby and her firm, I decided to leave the firm's employ. When I spoke with Attorney Swaby about my decision to leave the firm, she was understanding and respectful. At all times Attorney Swaby treated me with respect, courtesy and understanding (even when I had to leave work early on various occasions to visit wit the doctor) and worked with me regarding my work schedule. To this day, I am still a neighbor of Attorney Swaby, and our families have remained close.

Employee Three: I've known Lola Swaby and her sister [...] since early 2007 when they bean attending [] Church. In February 2007, I worked for The Swaby Law Firm as a part-time employee []. While employed at The Swaby Law Firm, I found Ms. Swaby to be a very considerate, personable, laid back and conscientious attorney who was very much a work-a-holic. Ms. Swaby was known to burn the midnight oil in her efforts to ensure that her clients' work was completed timely and appropriately. At no time did I hear Ms. Swaby have any loud dispute with a client or anyone who visited or called The Swaby Law Firm. On the other hand, Ms. Swaby clients and business associates were happy for the manner in which she dealt with them and the work that was being done on their behalf. Ms. Swaby always, without fail, reviewed items and documents, as well as each and everything leaving the office to clients and about clients. It was a pleasure working with Ms. Swaby, and to date we have a good relationship where we remain church sisters.

Professional Affidavits from Colleagues of Lola M. Swaby

Previous Paralegal of Attorney Swaby from April 2001 to July 2002: I found Ms. Swaby's work ethics to be very professional and courtesy during the course of the business hours while interacting with other employees and clients. Ms. Swaby also conducted herself in a professional and courtesy manner while outside of our place of employment. Ms. Swaby and I have a few mutual friends in the legal field all of which speak very highly of her. I know that Ms. Swaby would succeed with her education, training, work history and professional demeanor she would have a successful thriving law firm. Ms Swaby has indicated her desire to have me work with her firm; and, if Ms. Swaby was still located in the State of Florida, I would accept her offer of to be employed by her firm without hesitation.

Professional Colleague One: I not only know Ms. Swaby professionally but personally as well. She is my daughter's godmother. As an attorney, Ms. Swaby was and is still regarded in the Tallahassee legal community as a superb attorney, with tremendous work ethics, superior legal skills and excellent professionalism. []. As a friend you could not fiend a better person. She has helped me through both professional and personal crises. Over the years, there has been a mutual exchange of information, both professionally and personally, including her decision to start her own law firm. Not only did Ms. Swaby start her own law firm, but did so in a community that is still learning her great attributes. She started her firm in 2006, in part, to be close to her family that resides in Pennsylvania. It was an ambitious and bold move.

Professional Colleague Two: I have known Lola M. Swaby since 1994 and had the opportunity to observe her behavior in a wide variety of situations both professional and personal. I have known Lola to be a dedicated, professional, and a conscientious attorney. From 1994 to present, I have never known or observe Lola to violate any attorney code of conduct including breaching confidentiality, unethical billing, and encouraging unauthorized practice of law. On the other hand, I have known Lola to be meticulous in conducting legal research for her clients. Her dedication shows in her well thought-out and detailed pleadings filed on her client's behalf. Lola's high work ethics demand that she reviews every document before she signs her name and it leaves her office. This includes all correspondence, court document and billing statements. She is known through-out the Florida Legal Community as having an impeccable reputation.

Affidavits of Business Associates of The Swaby Law Firm:

Business Associate One: Provides professional payroll service for its clients, such as The Swaby Law Firm, LLC. In November 2006, [..] entered into an agreement with The Swaby Law Firm, LLC to handle all the firm's Payroll and Quarterly Payroll Taxes. As such, handled the payroll of Karen A. ---- during her employment with The Swaby Law Firm, LLC. The Swaby Law Firm's payroll is on a bi-weekly schedule, and does not retain any portion of its employees pay. Rather, employees are paid on the Monday following the close of each pay period. As of the date of this Affidavit, all pay for hours worked by Karen A. ---- were paid to Karen. Back in January 2008, I began getting telephone calls from Karen ----. In those calls, Karen asked if I thought Lola Swaby would give Karen an employment loan to pay down her bills. Karen also wanted to know if I would be able to deduct bi-weekly payments from her payroll if Lola Swaby agreed to extend her an employment loan. In response to her inquiry, I advised Karen ---- that "I do not know if Lola would give a loan to you, yes the loan would be deducted from the bi-weekly payroll, but you need to bring these questions to your employer and not my company." On Thursday, January 31, 2009, I had a meeting in the offices of The Swaby Law Firm, LLC at 1:00 p.m. In attendance at that meeting were: Lola Swaby, Employer; Karen A. ----, Employee; and myself. At the meeting, we went over Karen's work hours, and it was noted that Karen had been absent from work for several work days during her probation period (i.e., a sick day and a holiday), which were unpaid time. It was discussed whether Karen would be allowed to make-up those hours. Both Lola Swaby agreed to allow Karen, and Karen agreed, to work extra hours to make up the unpaid time. They both also agreed that Lola or Karen would keep me informed of those extra hours. Unfortunately the extra hours were never supplied where Karen terminated her employment prior to working said hours. On, the morning of February 4, 2008, I again received a telephone call from Karen A. ---- regarding the payroll for the period of January 21, 2009 to February 1, 2008. In that call, Karen advised that she was quitting her employment with The Swaby Law Firm, LLC. Karen later confirmed that she did in fact terminated her employment with The Swaby Law Firm, LLC in a telephone call on 4th day of February, 2008.

Business Associate Two: I have known Ms. Lola Swaby of [The Swaby Law Firm, LLC] for approximately two years and have occupied the office next door to her office for the past full year. As we are professional neighbors, our clients share the same entrance and exit through a common hallway to either of our offices. Visitor traffic through the hallway is common place and can be readily monitored by either office. I have observed that Ms. Swaby is the sole practicing attorney for the firm and that her sister [...] frequently performs computer/IT services for the firm. I personally have sought the computer related advise of [...] and have always have been fortunate enough to receive her assistance despite her having no obligation to do so. I have never witnessed any argumentative or confrontational behavior between either Ms. Swaby or Ms. [...] and any of the firm's clients. As both of our professions generally have discreet and subdued interaction with clientele, any argumentative disruptions or disturbances would be extremely obvious and readily observed by either office. I have observed that clients leaving Ms. Swaby's office always appear friendly and free from agitation; the parting comments I have observed between Ms. Swaby and her clients have always been professional, gracious and courteous. I frequently have had the occasion to visit Ms. Swaby's office to consult on professional matters. The physical office space is visually typical, professional office environment that one would commonly expect from any attorney, accountant or other similar occupation. Ms. Swaby's office appearance and environment is so routine and so much the norm that no further commentary is required in this area.

Business Associate Three: I first met Lola Swaby of the Swaby Law Firm, LLC through my wife []. My wife handles payroll services, individual income tax preparation, notary public service, as well as being a certified notary signing agent covering mortgage signings throughout the State of Pennsylvania. I am not employed by my wife. I do however, when in certain areas of Stroudsburg, Tannersville, Reeders and East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania do drop off FedEx and UPS Packages that are needed to be delivered to several Mortgage Companies and I also drop off Payroll Checks that my wife [] handles for several businesses in these areas. [] . I began dropping off Payroll Checks and other paperwork to Lola Swaby's office since December 7, 2006 to the present time. During the two years that I have known Lola Swaby, I have never witnessed anything unprofessional while at the Swaby Law Firm, LLC.

Affidavits from Church Members:

Church Member One: I know Lola Swaby through ministering with her at [] Church. We have worshiped together in the Women's Ministry and Choir. I find her to be a warm loving and kind person. I believe her to be a woman of high moral character. I am happy to submit this short letter as a character reference.
Church Member Two: Lola is a member in good standing at [] Church. Lola has been involved in setting up a mentorship program for our Youth and also signs with the choir. Ms. Swaby has demonstrated herself to be kind, caring and helpful in all matters concerning our church community.

Church Member Three: I am writing in regards to the unquestionable integrity of my friend and Sorority Sister Lola Swaby. I was introduced to Lola when she relocated to Monroe County several Years ago in order to be closer to her family and to continue with her law career. My involvement with [..] Sorority with Lola has been a wonderful experience. Lola assists with the treasury and always has ideas for us to help mentor young women in the community, raise scholarship funds and build up our membership as alumnae Members in Monroe County. I am fortunate to worship at the same church with Lola Swaby and she continues to be an inspiration to our church for our youth by continuing the mentorship program inside [] Church.

The Swaby Law Firm, LLC and Attorney Lola Swaby provide its clients with professional and outstanding legal work

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, June 15, 2008

This is a malicious, vindictive and intentional attempt of Karen James ( formerly Karen Patterson), who now resides in Blakeslee, PA, to malign the good outstanding and excellent name of The Swaby Law Firm, LLC and Attorney Lola Swaby.

Karen James (formerly Karen Patterson) is a jealous, devious, manipulative individual who only worked with The Swaby Law Firm, LLC for a three month probationary period, November 2007 thru January 2008 in which she had no entitlement to any vacation or sick leave. While an employee of The Swaby Law Firm, LLC; Karen James (formerly Karen Patterson) misappropriated information resulting in a permanent injunction issued against her by a PA court (The Swaby Law Firm, LLC v. Karen James, Case No. 2201-CV-08 before the Court of Common Pleas).

The Swaby Law Firm has been a successful law firm since its inception in 2006 and has provided its clients with professional, excellent and outstanding legal work. Each client has had an exceptional experience working with The Swaby Law Firm, LLC, so much so, that the clients are outraged at the unprofessional, jealous, and deliberate vindictive behavior of Karen James, (formerly Karen Patterson) trying to slander the good name of The Swaby Law Firm, LLC and Attorney Lola Swaby. The clients' outrage is evident in their affidavits of support filed in the case of (The Swaby Law Firm, LLC v. Karen James, Case No. 2201-CV-08 before the Court of Common Pleas).

Everyone is welcomed to look at the court records to fully understand the extent of Karen James, (formerly Karen Patterson) lies and attempts to disparage and defame The Swaby Law Firm, LLC and Attorney Lola Swaby, who has had over 12 years exceptional legal experience and service to each community she has worked and lived in. Attorney Lola Swaby is well loved and held in high esteem by both clients and colleagues in the legal community and the community at large.

As a colleague of Attorney Lola Swaby who has read the court case (The Swaby Law Firm, LLC v. Karen James, Case No. 2201-CV-08 before the Court of Common Pleas).
I felt compelled to draft this response on behalf of The Swaby Law Firm, LLC and Attorney Lola Swaby.

SWABY

Professional Colleague One: Previous Paralegal of Attorney Swaby from April 2001 to July 2002: I found Ms.

Professional Colleague Two: I not only know Ms.

Professional Colleague Three: I have known Lola M.

Back in January 2008, I began getting telephone calls from Karen James. In those calls, Karen asked if I thought Lola Swaby would give Karen an employment loan to pay down her bills. Karen also wanted to know if I would be able to deduct bi-weekly payments from her payroll if Lola Swaby agreed to extend her an employment loan. In response to her inquiry, I advised Karen ---- that I do not know if Lola would give a loan to you, yes the loan would be deducted from the bi-weekly payroll, but you need to bring these questions to your employer and not my company.

On Thursday, January 31, 2009, I had a meeting in the offices of The Swaby Law Firm, LLC at 1:00 p.m. In attendance at that meeting were: Lola Swaby, Employer; Karen A. ---, Employee; and myself.

The Swaby Law Firm, LLC and Attorney Lola Swaby provide clients with professional, excellent and outstanding legal work

AUTHOR: Anonymous - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 13, 2008

This is a malicious, vindictive and intentional attempt of Karen, who now resides in Blakeslee, PA, to malign the good outstanding and excellent name of The Swaby Law Firm, LLC and Attorney Lola Swaby.

Karen is a jealous, devious, manipulative individual who only worked with The Swaby Law Firm, LLC for a three month probationary period, November 2007 thru January 2008 in which she had no entitlement to any vacation or sick leave. While an employee of The Swaby Law Firm, LLC; Karen misappropriated information resulting in a permanent injunction issued against her by a PA court (The Swaby Law Firm, LLC v. Karen ----, Case No. 2201-CV-08 before the Court of Common Pleas).

The Swaby Law Firm has been a successful law firm since its inception in 2006 and has provided its clients with professional, excellent and outstanding legal work. Each client has had an exceptional experience working with The Swaby Law Firm, LLC, so much so, that the clients are outraged at the unprofessional, jealous, and deliberate vindictive behavior of Karen trying to slander the good name of The Swaby Law Firm, LLC and Attorney Lola Swaby. The clients' outrage is evident in their affidavits of support filed in the case of (The Swaby Law Firm, LLC v. Karen ----, Case No. 2201-CV-08 before the Court of Common Pleas).

Everyone is welcomed to look at the court records to fully understand the extent of Karen's lies and attempts to disparage and defame The Swaby Law Firm, LLC and Attorney Lola Swaby, who has had over 12 years exceptional legal experience and service to each community she has worked and lived in. Attorney Lola Swaby is well loved and held in high esteem by both clients and colleagues in the legal community and the community at large.

As a colleague of Attorney Lola Swaby who has read the court case (The Swaby Law Firm, LLC v. Karen ----, Case No. 2201-CV-08 before the Court of Common Pleas).
I felt compelled to draft this response on behalf of The Swaby Law Firm, LLC and Attorney Lola Swaby.

I also felt compelled to provide anyone reading this matter with excerpts from the affidavits filed in the court case The Swaby Law Firm, LLC v. Karen ----, Case No. 2201-CV-08 before the Court of Common Pleas. See below:

AFFIDAVITS FROM CLIENTS OF THE SWABY LAW FIRM, LLC
