I hosted a wine tasting party on February 27th, 2010, and The Traveling Vineyard closed for business just one month later, on March 23, 2010. The problem that I have with this is their unprofessional way of doing so. Myself, and others who purchased wines from the tasting received the WRONG wines. I contacted the consultant who did the tasting only to find out that The Traveling Vineyard was no longer. She informed me that there was no one to contact regarding my wine order, and assured me that the wines that I DID receive were good because she had tried them before. NOT what I wanted to hear. I decided to take matters into my own hands and search the internet for contact info, only to find a number that has been disconnected, and one that has a message stating the company had ended. Not only did I pay for a certain wine and didn't get it, but now I have no way of getting a refund or an exchange. It is just absurd.

I attended my friends wine tasting a few months prior to hosting my own, and I absolutely loved the idea. That is why I booked my tasting. She also, was affected big time by the company going under. She had purchased the special where for one year, 2 bottles of wine per month were sent to her. She paid up front for this service, and only has been getting wines for the past 4 months or so. So what happens now? She's paid for a years worth of wine and has no way to get her money back or get any more wine, the wine SHE ALREADY PAID FOR!

If anyone can help us with this loss, we would greatly appreciate it.

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

The Traveling Vineyard

I am also an ex employee that left the business a few years ago. My suggestion would be to follow up with Geerlings and Wade in Canton. They are the parent company of The Traveling Vineyard and you might be able to get the wine exchanged from them or a refund.

I am a former consultant with TTV, and I understand your frustration.  We, as consultants, had less than 24 hours notice of the company closing, and were left floundering as well.  Our phone calls, emails, etc went unanswered.  I have been hearing mixed reports regarding the wine club.  Some people are saying their credit card has been refunded for the remaining shipments, others not.

My best advice to you for the wines, as well as for anyone with unresolved issues, is to dispute the charges with your credit card company.  Consultants have no ability to correct any mis-ships or even get any answers.  If you paid by check, I would contact your bank.

I know this does not solve anything, but it is the only thing that I am aware of that you can do.
