Our experience was:  we met a Timeshare salesman for breakfast and after a 90 minute presentation we said it was not for us. We were escorted to 3 different rooms. At the third room they introduced us to the guy that would complete our paperwork to leave. Instead of departure paperwork, he made us a different offer. He was brand new, but his supervisor was in the room helping him so we felt confident that the information was accurate. For @$3500 we were offered to come back to one of their Resorts, go through their talk again and then receive a total of 7 "Dream Weeks" where we could use them at any of their resorts at no additional charge or pay to go to a large number of other fabulous resorts around the world for a small fee. We asked if we could use the Dream weeks at their Loretto or upcoming Cabo resort, using 2 or 3 rooms at a time. We made it clear that that was the only way this would work for us. The idea of bringing our whole family to one of their resorts for a couple of nice vacations, to resorts that we knew they would be comfortable, was appealing to us. He confirmed that that would work perfectly as long as there was availability.

Red flag #1 was that we couldn't actually look online to see the other resorts listed on the fee Dream weeks (as he said he did not have online access to that) but that didn't matter to us as our plan was to go to the Villa Group Resorts.  A few months later, we returned to a Villa Group Resort, went through the talk again, recieved certificates for 2 weeks, came home and found that the Dream Weeks resorts did not include their resorts as promised. AND after spending an entire evening trying to find a vacation spot, found resorts that averaged 2 stars with very poor reviews on mostly dilapidated properties that would cost less to just pay for rather than pay the exchange fee.

WE WERE DUPTED...I would like to believe that our brand new Salesman wasn't properly trained but I can't explain why the supervisor didn't step in to correct his errors.  We have made NUMEROUS phone calls, have been promised return calls, been put on terminal hold and, on one call, transfered 11 times to incorrect extensions only to be cut off in the end.  As soon as they got our money, that was the end of the friendly, helpful folks.
