There has been a lot of talk on here abouttheeventline.com.  I would like to add some Credentials along with facts to the other posts on ripoffreport.com.  Lets start with I do not know who wrote the other post on theeventline.com but it seems there is a trend with this company.  I was hired on January 28th 2011.  I graduated college in Dec. 2010 with a bachelors degree.  I have worked for a reputable rental company (which has been established for 100yrs in KCMO) since 2001.  When Bob Hollingsworth hired me he explained how the last manager was worthless a drug addict, that stole and never did his job.  I believe I have heard the same words about me.  I have a strong job history and in 11 years of working not another employer can say anything even close to how Bob would describe me.

I was Hired on as the Kansas City area manager.   As the manager I felt it was my duty to help the company grow.(BIG MISTAKE)  There was equipment that needed to be repaired I found a vinyl sewing company that does repairs for other more reputable companies in the KC area.  The company quoted me $700-900 for repairs.  The job was bigger then anticipated and end cost were $2000 so the company immediately split the difference to $1300.  After several phone calls between Bob and the Vinyl repair company, Bob Hollingsworth refused to pay anything over $700.  The vinyl company had not received its money owed when I left theeventline.com 4 months later.  Even after a lawsuit was brought forth by the vinyl company.

A long time customer of mine from the previous company I worked for decided to give theeventline.com a try.  I have done this exact job for this customer for 9 yrs before theeventline.com.  I set their tent up exactly like I had in previous years, because of the way the tent was built along with the cheapness of materials the tent was torn in a storm.  Never before had this happened.  The customer was refused a refund and was only credited to their account which they will never use theeventline.com again.

Now lets move on to treatment of employees.  I had hired 2 people in the first month of being employed there.  The first person hired had a college degree as well a 3 yrs experience in the industry along with an hourly employee that had some experience and was a college student.  The hourly was hired on for $9.00 an hr.  It was never disclosed this $9.00 hr was $7.25 plus a $1.75 bonus that is paid and not paid as Bob sees fit.  As soon as he hit overtime that bonus was pulled and he was given the option of either get paid $9.00 an hr for overtime or time and a half at $7.25.  That is illegal by the state of Missouri's Department of Labor.  This is the way all hourly employees are treated.

During June and July I was personally working 100hrs per week.  My hourly employees and assistant manager were just under 100hrs a week.  In a 2 week span one of my hourly employees had 185 hrs.  When I turned in the time sheets for the period I was told by Bob that my hourly employee did not work that many hours.  I replied by reassuring him that my hourly did and that was with breaks taken out.  Bob, took it upon himself to take 15 hrs off of this employees time worked.

After my entire crew, (which consisted of about 6 guys I used full time) decided to quit I had enough as well.  Not a single person got their last checks from theeventline.com due to the fact that Bob Hollingsworth did not feel anyone had done any work.  I can guarantee Bob Hollingsworth will try to say I wasnt doing my job or, something else to discredit me but I have emails and supporting documents that if I need to I will post them on here.  The documents have been turned into Department of Labor but they are unwilling to pursue it until more people are involved.  Apparently him owing me $500 is not enough for them to pursue.

The overall condition of this company is poor at best.  I have seen the way the customers and employees are treated and it is poor at best.  The equipment is never what theeventline.com says it is and is in poor condition.  Dont listen to me though go find out for yourself.

Also before he tries to discredit me like he has so many others.  I resigned from theeventline.com was not let go.   I am currently happily employed with a reputable company I just want the truth to be known.  The examples of issues with equipment and the owner is only a slight description of what all went wrong.  If you need more information or have concerns that need addressed please email me at (((email redacted)))

TheEventLine.com's perfect BBB record, perfect insurance safety record, guaranteed best pricing and selection and one million users in 2011 may be the best indicators.

AUTHOR: Default Mitigation - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, February 24, 2012

TheEventLine.com's perfect BBB record, perfect insurance safety record, guaranteed best pricing and selection and one million users in 2011 may be the best indicators.

Jeremy Schrader, fired for cause 2 years ago continues to obsess over the Company. He never met this string's writer (who lives 250 miles from him) and has never had "inside" information about matters 6 months ago. He continues to claim he is on a first name basis with Company owners while they do not know him - only meeting him 2 years ago in passing (the warehouse he worked at was 30 miles from the offices). His postings have been filled with hate and profanity. He brags on both his strings he is proud of the his dishonesty and false statements. No business can have such an employee.

Jeremy Schrader, the Company has asked you to stop and is taking action against you. You must contact DeFranco & Bradley, P.C. immediately to mitigate the damages you have caused. (618) 628-2000 ext. 216. If you choose not to do so, no later reduction can occur.

We understand our growth concerns competitors and our dismissal of unsatisfactory employees may result in hostile, false web reports. But we will continue to remove any employee who does not meet our customers needs or breaks the law. The Company's perfect BBB record, perfect insurance safety record, guaranteed best pricing and selection and one million users in 2011 may be the best evidence. SEO Valley Mgmt Svcs maintains this feedback for the Company and can be contacted at webmaster@theeventline.com. Responses will be automatic as it continues. We apologize for any inconvenience. We do want you to know you can receive information anytime at info@theeventline.com or by calling the company at 314-255-2882.

Bob,

Why would someone willingly contact your lawyer. Isn't that their job. Quit trying to scare these posters. Even if it came to the point where courts would be involved you wouldnt leave your basement for trial anyway. Oh I'm sorry "offices". Its free speech anyway. Do movie producers sue critics for bad reviews? Like I said before you are not God. I am not JS. I will not come forth with my identify because I dont see it necessary. I started the intital ripoff report to let the truth be known about you. You have proved me right to any sane person reading this. Bob Hollingsworth is the person typing all these rebuttals. I feel success in the fact that when you type www.theeventline.com in a google search ripoff report is on the main page. I hope this hurts your business. Your business is a ripoff, thats why all this had to be done. Now go on with your robotic rebuttal.....

#2 UPDATE EX-employee responds

Everything said by ex-employee TRUE!

AUTHOR: Joke - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, February 23, 2012

I'd like to thank the author of this report for his detailed, truthful account of theeventline.com's business practices. Everything written is true in my opinion, based on facts and personal experience. Bob Hollingsworth is writting all of the rebuttals claiming the company is honest and reputable. For those reading this you must ask yourself, "Why would someone go through so much trouble to try to refute these claims?" If they were false you would laugh them off. Bob is so offended because he cannot stand for the public to realize the scam that is theeventline.com. How many weddings have been ruined? How many events have turned out to be less than advertised? How many employees have been cheated and misled? Hopefully anyone researching this company will see these warning and do their own research before contributing to this scam.

#1 UPDATE Employee

Company agrees it has a strong "trend" of removing poor performing employees and the highest success ratings in the industry.

AUTHOR: Default Mitigation - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, January 30, 2012

The Company will disagree with this terminated employee and the one other posting he and his fellow ex-employees have created to say they were too good to be terminated. TheEventLine.com has 4 warehouses in 3 major cities. Over 1 million people used our equipment last year - dwarfing most others. Our growth exceeds 25% per year for good reasons - best selection, best price and best service. To assure this, we do have a strong "trend" of removing poor performing employees. We will review being more gentle in our approach, but we just will not keep persons that cannot get jobs done on time, cannot get along with customers, have drug issues or have problems with integrity or honestly.

Customers are always invited to visit any of our warehouses before their event to make sure what they order is right for them. You dont have to accept the "he said-she said" of angry ex-employee debates, they have little merit. With nearly 1,500 references on our website and over 1 million people using our equipment each year, we are the only major event company to have a perfect safety record, a perfect BBB record, to give free PAR dispute mediation while maintaining a 25%+ annual growth. Not everything goes right, but most do. When something goes wrong we fix it. This may mean terminating poor performing employees and their being upset about it. The Company will do what it takes to make sure our customers receive the best service and best selection at the best cost.

Chad Ayres, the writer, as an experienced, educated manager would know the seriousness of business interference especially in light of his signed employment contract. Looking at all the manipulations and dropped facts in his letter confirms the reasons he was terminated. Now, eight months later he complains it was the equipment's fault, he wasn't paid correctly and others were mean to him. Both the manager before him (whom he calls a drug addict) and the manager after him (now with nearly twice Mr. Ayres time on the job) had none of the problems he had. None of the other current 5 warehouse managers and directors had such problems, all with the same equipment. Rather than correct himself, he blames everything and everyone but himself.  Mr. Ayres can call his failure to show up for an exit interview "resigning" - it makes no difference, the termination was decided weeks before and was properly documented. His leaving a few weeks early with the "fraternity brothers" he hired for summer jobs impacted no event and no customer. With 3 other warehouses to draw from, we can support any event or replace any operation entirely without missing a beat.

We agree that Mr. Ayres previous experience as a tent laborer [but (1) for a company so small it is not BBB listed, (2) in operation only half as old as he stated and (3) not for 11 years as he claimed--he would have been 13] and college degree is what got him a job with us, however, the Company discovered it had not taught him how to get along with people or the work ethic needed to keep a job. The Company quickly learned he was far too young and inexperienced to handle the responsibilities and his college degree had done little to prepare him for the real business world. But it was his combative nature that caused our customers extreme dislike of him - including 2 serious confrontations with customers, one in which law enforcement had to be called. This is what lost him his job. Blaming equipment and others for his poor behavior and performance is shameful. None of our other 5 warehouse managers and directors ever had such problems and all voted he be removed, it was a team decision. We are a people business and absolutely could not allow him to continue.

Chad Ayres calling a former manager a drug addict and thief in this public forum is despicable and demonstrates his lack of personal and business integrity. His thought he can repeat it by blaming another is unconsionable. Mr. Ayres had no access to manager employee files and nothing other than termination due to failure to obtain drug testing was ever discussed. He may not voice his interpretation of this as meaning "drug addict" and "thief". We do not know why he falsely stated his start date (March 2 not January 28) and contrary to his remarks the Company has no unpaid debts, no lawsuits, no unpaid wages, no BBB claims and no DOL claims. A $700 bill was settled for the $700 contracted a few months after Chad Ayres termination and the nearly $2000 bill Chad attempted to have paid was rejected after collusion was alleged. No $1300 agreement was ever made and the Company's major shareholder never spoke to this reputable business as Mr. Ayres claimed ("Bob" isn't paid by and doesn't work for the Company has Mr. Ayres knows). Mr. Ayres thought the Company would pay 3 times the contract with no previous discussion or approval, even though his reputable business had no business street address, no State DBA or Entity record and was not licensed to operate in either its home state or our business state. Yes the bill was held until fully clarified and the Company made sure no conflict of interest existed. Once this was understood, the amount contracted was paid and accepted by the vendor as payment in full.

Mr. Ayres also falsely claimed a tent he set up exactly as before was knocked down by a storm because of poor materials. He failed to mention he had not set this tent before, this tent had been used dozens of times before and after his failed installation, or that he filed a written report saying it was the storm and not a materials problem or installation problem. He also failed to say that a larger tent was given to the customer and setup immediately and no refund or credit was requested or due. A later request for storm damage to vendor shelving was denied because the customer had their own insurance and did not purchase it from the Company. An educated and skilled manager knows how insurance works. Mr. Ayres also discovered you cannot misrepresent wages to the Department of Labor and get their support. The wage structure is fully detailed in the employee manual that every employee receives and signs off on their understanding and acceptance of. There is no not disclosed or I didnt know that. Mr. Ayres signed off as did every person working for him. Every employee has always received what both sides agreed to in writing and no employee will receive unsubstantiated, falsely inflated amounts. Their not receiving bonus wages for poor performance and during overtime is carefully detailed and in full compliance with wage law. Our customers will not bear these false costs nor should they be expected to.

Notice to Mr. Chad Ayres:  You have written you have Company records in your possession. These must be returned and any copies destroyed. This and company equipment you allegedly have not returned are valued above the felony level. False or fraudulent statements, unauthorized disclosures, non-interference and non-compete defaults also violate your employment contract. We have attempted to be forgiving to you, but this has not worked. Please contact DeFranco & Bradley, P.C. immediately to avoid further action against you. (618) 628-2000 ext. 216. We need a complete return of everything you had and were responsible for. Significant penalties exist all that you yourself signed off on. If you need a copy of the employee agreement to review your responsibilities, please visit the employee website to download a copy. Seek the advice of legal counsel as you will not be permitted to continue these false and misleading statements or business interference. The Company believes you did more than enough damage during your short tenure but hopes for your success in the insurance sales career you have now chosen. It should be noted your current company has quite a few warnings about it on the web. We doubt they are completely true also.

Our growth concerns competitors and our dismissal of unsatisfactory employees may result in hostile, false web reports on sites that have no verification or accuracy requirements. SEO Valley Mgmt Svcs maintains this feedback for the Company and the email address webmaster@theeventLine.com. Responses will be automatic as it continues. We apologize for any inconvenience. We do want you to know you can receive information anytime at info@theeventline.com or by calling the company at 314-255-2882. Thank you!
