Theodore Muran was recommended to be by Barbazon Models to do my portfolio pictures for a total price of $500 USD. Theodore Muran is supposed to be some big shot fashion photographer who travels around the world photographing models for big name magazines.
The day of my appointment I showed up 1 hour early as recommended. I signed a alot of papers that I was given with lots of fine print. They were releases and "standard modeling stuff". Funny I never had to sign this before. Then waited and waited, as more than 4 other "models" all from Barbazon also showed up and were made to sign the same papers I signed.
We were all hearded together about 30 mintues later and given a hard sell to upgrade our $500 package to a $800 "models only" package with a professional stylist and negatives included. I took the bait and upgraded and paid $800 on my credit card. Then Theodore Muran showed up looking very unkept. He spent about 30 minutes at most on each model and then left just as abruptly and we had to deal with his assistant.
While the images were very sylish, and I did receive the prints for all the selected images, , I have not received my negatives. I have phoned, emailled and even had my Barbazon contact try to get a hold of Theodore Muran to get my negatives, but he does not seem to answer his calls. Apparently he is located in the USA, so I can't even go to his studio.
For such a "big time" photographer Theodore Muran is very unprofessional because he does not even return phone calls or email. If I had my negatives I could take them to a photo print shop and at least get some more prints.
