The Lewis's gave me a car on the first of June 2015. I asked Mr. Lewis if I could work off the price of the car in labor. He and his wife agreed. Mrs. Lewis did not have a title to the car but promised to get a duplicate. I worked for three months hauling all the junk and trash out of their yard and Mrs. Lewis kept telling me she would get the title. I then painted their house outside. Mrs. Lewis then arranged for me to paint her sisters house, Darla Ramsey, and said Darla would give me half down, $250. So I drove to the north side of Rio Rancho and got started painting but then her sister said she would not give me any down payment. So I left and told Mrs. Lewis and she did not seem to care. Still no title, so I filed a lein on the car to get the title. Yesterday, Sept.26, 2015, Mrs. Lewis came to my house with the sheriff and told them I did not do any work for her and the sheriff took the car and gave it back to Mrs. Lewis. So I am out three months work, plus the work to paint their house, plus the money I did not get from her sister. All together about $3,500. I also, on request from Mrs. Lewis, wrote to her bank about problems with her account, she recieved $3,000 for that and gave me nothing. I also spent time fixing her car and got nothing. I also gave Mr. and Mrs. Lewis rides to the VA hospital for which I got nothing. Nothing but empty promises and a visit from the sheriff. I now have no car, am 5 miles from town, and am in debt to my freinds that are helping me through this hardship.

I believedt because I have known Mr. lewis more than 40 years and worked with him many years. He was defrauded out of most of his vehicles by a person now seving time in prison. So when his wife said she would get a duplicate title I had no reason to not believe it.

So then, they told you they would give you this car in exchange for work performed? They also told you they had NO TITLE for this car and you actually believed this???
