I purchased real estate on e-bay from this person in April 09. Paid in full the same week. I still have not received a deed. He just keeps coming up with more excuses for not giving me one. First he went "on Holiday" for a month, then he told me the documents were in the mail, which turned out to be a letter / receipt for payment, but no deed. Then he said he didn't know where to get a deed, so I prepared a quit claim deed and sent it to him. Then he refused to sign it and told me I need to pay the $5,000 in back taxes first. I have tried to explain the difference between a quit claim deed and a warranty deed, but he's no longer cooperating. Anyway, I thought I would post this to prevent others from falling for the same scam.
