Thompson Tractor Caterpillar Dealer raped, lied to, sold something I didn't need Alabaster, Alabama

On May 19, 2010 we were towed by a road service company to Thompson Tractor in Alabaster, AL. as the motor home would not start although it had really strong spin power.

They put the diagnostic machine on the engine and it didn't show the problem, they decided it was the ecm (brain) put a new one on and it didn't solve the problem, they had to ordered one from Atlanta,it was supposedly bad, they put the third one on, and it was supposedly bad.

I called Caterpillar after spending two nights in a motel and asked them what the chances of three new ecm's being bad, they couldn't tell me. He said he would call Thompson Tractor and call me back, I'm still waiting on that call.

After the call from Caterpillar the shop run a hot wire from the front of the coach to the ecm and the engine started.

My husband told the guy that our old ecm was probably not the problem, they said we had a wiring harness problem, if that's the case we believe we were sold an expensive part that we didn't need.
We feel like we were ripped off royally.

I have called Monico and talked to the service department and was told that the chances of three new ecm's being bad were 0. There is a template that should have been programed into the new ecm, and apparently wasn't. I have also talked to other mechanics and they agree with Monico.

Now the tachometer, and cruise don't work, they were working before Thompson Tractor put their tools on it.

I find it strange that the shop manager was out when it came time to figure the bill, and also that a big co would supposedly use wireless Internet.

This place sells and services heavy construction equipment and we feel like they are not qualified to work on rv's
