I agree with another poster about my experience with this company. I sent them a full bag of clothing in good condition and opted for them to donate what they could not use. I am guessing the value was around $200 and I received $15 which I thought was OK. So I sent them another bag of items that I estimate were worth at least $400 to them and got back $23.

Whatever, it's a crap shoot. But what annoys me is that they did not provide an accounting of some items that I know are sellable (one handbag that I actually purchased from their site and never used), all they said was that some items are being kept because they are seasonal and were not on the list of up-front sales, that I would recive credits as they sold. Seriously? This was in early spring and I yet to see any of them on their site, maybe they will show up in fall, but I am not holding my breath.

I have also purchased a few items from them and was not pleased with any. The handbags were fusty, the tops and skirt I purchased were too streatched out to wear. I did buy a pair of high-end shoes that I liked and were in great condition and a fair price, but the size felt wrong. I could not even get into them.

So, overall, this has been a bust. I was not in this to make a buck. I thought this would be a win-win. I usually donate my clothing to the Salvation Army and feel good about helping them raise money and enabling lower-income women to afford to dress professionally, but I live in an area that has a lot of affluant residents (not me!) and the local resale stores are turning donations of clothing away. I thought Thread up would be a good way to make items available and affordable to other markets and would give me a little something new to try. I may buy from them again, but will never sell.

Thank you for letting me get this off my chest, I hope it helps. Maybe they will take notice of how frustrating their practices are. At least consumers will have a more realistic picture of what to expect.
