I reached the point where I wanted to stop renting and buy a place of my own, to have some passive income (cashflow), and learn about commercial real estate for a factory I'm planning.  I signed up for the Rich Dad three day presentation for $500, and had two and a half days of hard selling. At the end, the "trainer" Scott came over to me and said "If you sign up, I'll make you my personal project. I'll guarantee your success."  So I signed up for four classes and the mentor training.  Cost me about a year's salary at the time- over $28,000.  I was given a pre-printed letter with instructions to email the trainer with who I am, where I was sitting, my goals and dreams for the program, etc.  I would in return be sent a password to access all the Rich Dad resources available to me as a student- 'talk to a rich guy' was one, all sorts of research tools supposedly were available.  So I did so that night, and got no response.  "Well", I thought, "he's a busy guy. Give him some time."  Two weeks later I emailed again.  A week after that I emailed again.  No response.  Called my "liaison"- Tiffany, and told her what was(n't) happening.  "Oh" she said, "that's not the right email address.  Here's the one you should use."  So I emailed again using the "correct" address.  Nothing.  I emailed again a week after, and still no response.  Called Tiffany again, and she volunteered to forward my email to Scott.  So I sent it to her, and nothing happened.  Spoke to her a few days later, and was told that Scott was a "busy man", and I'd hear from him in due course.  Never did my only liaison with Rich Dad even attempt to call this guy and tell him to get in touch with me.  She was entirely unconcerned with helping me- the only thing she kept on about was signing me up for classes.  All my only customer service rep was concerned with was getting the classes filled and NOTHING ELSE.
So, still shut out of any of the alleged resources offered, I started trying to take the classes which were applicable to my situations.  However, out of the 19 classes offered, virtually none were scheduled for the New York metropolitan area, where I had attended the original seminar.  I did manage to take "Creative Real Estate Financing", which was taught by an extremely right wing and unpleasant egomaniac, assisted by his son. I asked a good number of questions, feeling like an imbecile each time for having to interrupt.  Midway through, during a break, I apologized to the other members of the class for wasting time that they were also paying for. "No," they all said- "we have a lot of the same questions. We just don't have the courage to ask. Please don't stop questioning him- it helps us".  I finished the class somewhat informed, but feeling largely battered.
A couple of months later, I began getting emails and calls from Tiffany, informing me in a fairly aggressive manor that I had better get on with it, because at the end of two years everything I paid for would expire and I would get nothing.  I was receiving emails every 2-3 months of class scheduling, but the ones I needed were pretty much never in my area.  I did eventually get a class near Newark airport, which was pretty good, but required over 5 hours of commuting each day because I don't have a car.  That one was Property Management and Cash Flow.  Taught by an approachable and easy going guy- was good and informative, and will be fairly helpful in the future.
The only other class in my area which was pertinent was on a weekend when I was out of town.  Called Tiffany, and got a lecture as she read me all the dates and times she had contacted me in the past (not bothering to take into account that over half of them had involved unsuccessful attempts to get me in touch with Scott, and told me that if I didn't get the classes done I'd lose them. Period.
No longer comfortable trying to speak with Tiffany, I called another guy at Rich Dad (now Tigrent) who had seemed somewhat sympathetic when I had reached him inadvertently in the past.  I told him of my dilemma, and asked if I could at least get the DVDs of the two classes I wanted in lieu of attending the actual classes, which were not scheduled in my area any time before the expiration of Tigrent's commitments to me.  He got it done, and a couple of weeks after, Tiffany called me to record me confirming that I was forfeiting the classes I had paid at least $5,000 each for.
I did manage to get the mentor thing scheduled before I was cut out of the program, and it was pretty helpful.  He also sympathized with my experience, saying that he had heard a good number of stories of abysmal customer service like mine.
In the end, I feel that they hosed me pretty well, to the tune of about $10,000.  But I still get emails from them trying to sell me more of their "services".
If you want to learn about real estate, try some basic courses in the areas you need, but do it at some reputable local place which charges reasonable rates for the classes.
DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS GROUP.  They are interested only in selling you more and more stuff- not providing education and services.
