I have just came across this site about Tmber Lodge Rip-Off. I have had this menbership since 2004 and have never used it and have been trying to find away to cancel it. I have called with no answer, they only respond to mail? I have offer to sign it over to them so I can stop being charged the $99 a year fees for free!! I am willing to take the lost of the membership when I brought it. The only respond I got from Timber Lodge is that I have to pay $599 to them to sell it for me?? I have tried two days to talk to there so call Corporate Office, there answering machine says there is no one there at this time?? I am more then willing to join together with other people that wants to get out of this membership. I am done paying my $99 fees to somebody that I wonder even exists? So I am with the other guy, let's been it on!!!

You are so right, Jimmy! I got my "M"s mixed up. It isn't Michigan, it is Minnesota. Now, what do you have to say about that? Am I lying?

The resale option is an option for an outside company to pay all cost to resale your membership. They take on all the costs and guarantee the sale. If you would like to receive money on the sale of the membership you are welcome to sell it on your own.
None of our telephone numbers are disconnected.
Our records indicate the membership you purchased included reciprocal use of several hundred membership resorts (Resort Parks International). That the American Campground resorts in Michigan are a part of this system. That American Campgrounds operate two resorts in Michigan. One in Kalamazoo (Spring Lake) and one in Hartford (Travel Inn Resort). That your use of these resorts allowed you two weeks each year at both resorts, a total of four weeks. The only restrictions are on the three major holidays (Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day). Any other days and weekends are unrestricted. Passport America was also included and is a public campground system that gives 50% off nightly nightly rates at public parks and are not membership resorts. Passport America has no connection to American Campgrounds or Michigan.

I want to Thank You,the kind person for the response to my letter to Timber Lodge. It is good to know that they lost there case in Michigan. It will be easier for me to win if and when Jim takes me to court?
You are right knowledge is power, I just wished I would have looked into this back in 2004 a lot better!! Jim was very convincing and trusting on the phone and I wanted to camp at American Campgrounds at the time. Well from what I been reading about Jim and Timber Lodge there time is running out, the law will catch up with them and they will get what is coming to them.
Thank you again for the info,

Jim Jerde and his "significant other" Jan Petsolt Jerde are the operators of Timber Lodge. Their "corporate office" is their home. Don't waste your time trying to find the owners, managers, or administrators for these people are one and the same! Funny Jim values these memberships over $1000 when you try to cancel them, but he advertises them on ebay for $25.00 and yearly dues of $35. Don't fall for any of Jim's BS....get educated for "knowledge is power" and let Jim try to take you to court. It'll only be small claims anyway. If everybody who wants out challenged his BS he would be spending all this time and money running back and forth from the courthouse! He and Jan have already lost in a Michigan Courthouse....and the funny thing is, they didn't hire a corporate attorney to argue their case....they did it all by themselves. he and Jan aren't allowed to sell their Timber Lodge, Camp Resorts, Inc, or whatever name they are using now, memberships in Michigan.

To Employee at Timber Lodge, yes you have provided me with a couple of options. First option is to try to find a bigger fool then myself that I could transfer this membership over too!
My second option and my opinion, is to be black mail by you and Timber Lodge for $599 to get released from my membership. This is Timber Lodges option to release me, if I am correct? Send them $599 to cover there expenses to list and sell my membership, and then they will release me. But here is the kicker; I do not get a penny for the sale if and when they sell my membership, is this not correct Employee at Timber Lodge?
Let me ask you Employee at Timber Lodge, would you pay a Real Estate $599 to list your house and when they sell it, the Real Estate will keep the money?
Does it not sound like blackmail to you? I paid $495 for the membership back in 2004(that I was miss informed about) plus $99 dollars a year up to 2010. I have invested $990 into Timber Lodge (I dont know where you got $594?) and have not used it, Oh wait a minute I still owe $99 plus $10 late fee that I tried to pay by phone but guess what, all your phone numbers are disconnected? Strange? Then I called Timber Lodge direct, no answer? So if I could have paid my membership, I would have $1,099 invested into Timber Lodge. And lets not forget all the emails asking to talk to your manager by phone.
Now Timber Lodge Employee you want $599 more plus my $109 for a grand total of $708 to be released from my membership that Jim Jerde miss-led me on?
Do you really think this is going to hold up in court, because that is where you and I will end up some day?
Let me explain to you Employee of Timber Lodge how I got into this membership, I was new in the camping world back in 2004, in fact I did not own a camper yet when I brought this membership. I went to an American Campground presentation at a local American Camp site because I wanted to use the one close to me, but they where way to much money. So I was on the internet checking out American Campgrounds when a add for American Campgrounds came up advertising $495 for full memberships, I called the number and it was Jim Jerde that answer. I told him the same thing I just told you and he told me that it was the same membership that American Campgrounds was trying to sell me. The reason it was thousands cheaper, was camp sites that people didnt pay for or died. So the $495 was for the paper work. And I could end the membership anytime after 3 or 4 years? (Of course it does not say that in the contract) Then Jim explained to me that he was going to assign me to a camp site in Texas so I could use all of the American Campgrounds on the east coast. (Jim told me that I could not have a membership within 120 miles of my local American Campgrounds, if I wanted to use my local American site? (That was my first cue that I should have not signed the contract)
Of course Jim explained that I will be joining Passport of America and something else that was included with my $495. Well guess what, when I called American Campgrounds they told me I could use there camp sites just 7 days a year and no holidays and that I did not have a membership with them, just Timber Lodge in Texas. And if I didnt keep the Passport membership, I could not use my 7 days at my local American Campgrounds.
So Employee at Timber Lodge when I could not get anybody to answer my phone call so I could pay my membership or give me a number to talk to your manager about this matter, I decided not to pay my fees anymore until Timber Lodge takes me to court! Oh lets not forget I did offer to pay you $200 plus the $109 to have me go away and end this, but no Timber Lodge Employee, you want the $599 plus the $109.
Another thing Employee of Timber Lodge, why is it every year Timber Lodge sends me offers to buy life time no yearly fees for $995 and I think one for $795 because they are improving the Timber Lodge camp sites, but yet when you go to Timber Lodge web site it is the same pictures of a old run down camp grounds with no improvements??
Timber Lodge Employee, do you have trouble sleeping at night??
RGH
