On December 18 , I went to the Nissan Dealership because my rear brakes were making a grinding noise. After Brake inspection I was told that I needed new rear brakes and rotors. I then had the brakes and rotors replaced. After three weeks I noticed the grinding noise again. During that period I moved to Columbus Ohio. On January 10, 2015, I had the brakes inspected at the Buckeye Nissan Service Department in Hilliard, Ohio. Here, I was told that the new brakes and rotors have failed. However, since the Timbrook dealership placed after market brakes on the vehicle they could not warrant the brakes. The service manager from Buckeye Nissan discussed this issue directly with the Service Manager at Timbrook and stated that the brakes and rotors should not have failed within three weeks and needed to be replaced. The manager also stated that the calibers were in good condition. The purchase price of the brakes and rotors was $252.13 and I would like to have a full refund of this placed back on my Bank of America Credit Card so that the brakes can be replaced. I was under the impression that a Nissan Service Department would only place Nissan parts on a vehicle or would otherwise notify the customer; however this was not the case. After speaking with the Service Manager (Bill) at the Timbrook Nissan Service Department, he states that he will only refund half the cost of the brakes because he believes that there is an issue with the calibers. The Buckeye Nissan Service Department states that the Calibers are in good condition. But, if there was an issue with the calibers then it should have been addressed at the original Brake Inspection appointment at Timbrook Nissan and not over the phone 3 weeks later after a problem has occurred. At this point, the vehicle is not safe to drive without new brakes and what scares me most is I could have been in an accident and either hurt myself or someone else because of brake failure. I have been going to the Timbrook Nissan Dealership for several years and was a loyal customer. As a Nissan registered Service Department they should warrant the product they deliver and resolve this issue with a full refund.
