Was online checking bank balance on 8/15/07 and saw there was a pending debit card transaction from Time Life U.S. for $24.98. knowing that I had not ordered anything from this company for over 3 years, I called the bank first, then Time Life U.S. customer service rep from Time Life told me there had been a recent major upgrade to their computer systems, and due to a "glitch" in the upgrade the system was automatically billing past customers for the amount of their last order!!
This was happening to literally thousands upon thousands of past customers, and the merchandise was being shipped!
After much discussion, I was told the merchandise would be stopped, and the transaction cancelled, and the pending charge would be reversed and disappear from my bank statement. The customer service rep told me they had been getting hundreds of calls from customers about this matter.
I strongly urge everyone that if you have bought anything from Time Life in the past to carefully check your bank statements and credit card statements for unauthorized charges.
