I also have apparently been scammed by the same individuals. I paid $600 to list my timeshare and was promised sale within months or a free cruise. I kept in correspondance with the company, but they were never able to provide me with any information. I did receive a brochure for a not so free cruise after multiple compliants. As advised, I even lowered my listing price to accomodate a quicker sale. I recently tried to contact the sellers via phone and email, but both are no longer in service. The website is down as well. It appears that I am the sucker in this scenerio, but please use this as a warning. I thought I had researched this company enough, but apparently I was wrong.

No such thing.

"An obligation 'in perpetuity' - that passes to your children? "

They might hope that you or your children believe this (and keep paying), but contracts don't work that way.   Contractual obligations apply only to those who sign a contract.   The notion that ones children could be held repsonsible for the debts of their parents went out in the 19th century.

Timeshare Resale Scam Companies

The timeshare resale scam companies are just a symptom. They need to do something about the timeshare scam itself. An obligation 'in perpetuity' - that passes to your children? There is almost no legal way out of the obligation, even if you don't use the facilities and want to sell it back (they won't take them back). In other words, they hawk 'property' that you cannot resell, cannot give back, and has literally no value in the market - and tell you that you have to pay 'maintenance' forever... and that they can assess 'special fees' on in order to do repairs they *should* have been doing with the maintenance fees
