Medicare reimbursement a pure fallacy!

I purchased the device direct from Timm Medical because they have a 90 day money-back guarantee.  I believed that if anything might go wrong with Medicare I could get my money back.  That money was extremely important to me.

I called Timm Medical and reported Medicare had not sent my money to me and I wanted to return the item.  They promised to look into it and call me back.  They never did what they promised and instead used the delay to get past the 90 day period.

Then they used the "sorry but it's past 90 days" routine.

While the problem may be with Medicare and fraud on behalf of Noridian a contractor for Medicare, Timm played a role in making that promise and not keeping it.

You would think they would honor and extend the 90 day policy since I registered the complaint well before the end of the 90 day period.

Thus, I am posting this to notify all seniors thinking they have protection in terms of the so-called Medicare reimbursement plan by dealing with a responsible provider.

I might as well have purchased it from a dealer at a fraction of the cost and lost less money.  Timm Medical is completely irresponsible and simply lied to me!

I made my purchase in April 2009 it is now Near October 2009 ....and have notified Medicare more than 3 times, they are polite but completely useless in fulling what is stated as an obligation of our wonderful government.  It would be better if they simply did not cover this.  That way I'd still have the money I badly need!

Reimbursement of Claim

AUTHOR: Timm Medical Customer Care - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, October 01, 2009

As a medical device company we sometimes get questions, concerns and complaints related to reimbursement from each individual's insurance carriers about coverage.  Unfortunately, employees of health care related businesses cannot access a private individual's coverage to see if devices, procedures and supplies are covered and to what extent.   By Medicare regulations we also cannot waive or refund co-insurance amounts on transactions involving them as a primary insurer.

In this case, on or about 5-12-2009, Medicare did reimburse Mr. Bell directly for the majority of a medical device purchased from us in early April 2009 per the customer.  Mr. Bell's secondary insurance carrier denied coverage for the claim for the difference in the cost and what Medicare reimbursed.  Mr. Bell first contacted us on September 17, 2009 asking about his reimbusement 2 months after his 90 day money back return policy had expired.

Unfortunately Mr. Bell has indicated that he has not received the check from Medicare and does not want to wait for them to reissue the reimbursement payment.   In talking with Mr. Bell we indicated that we were unable to get Medicare to reissue his reimbursement check any faster than their normal process allows and had no control over items mailed by a third party.
