BEWARE!! Slimy conartists! Don’t walk, RUN!! I purchased a certified, used Enclave and was screwed in MANY ways.
1.During the test drive, I asked why the car transmission was revving so high before switching gears. I was told that was completely normal. (nearly 6 rpms) I took the car back after I also had issues with RPM fluttering and jerking. Again, I was told ‘everything was to spec’. The tech suggested that it was my foot reacting to bumps in the road. After 20 years driving, I think I have that whole foot to pedal thing down, thanks. Later my car stalled in the middle of the road, and cut engine power. Turns out, my issues are NOT normal and should have been detected in the 172 point inspections.
2.I traded the same car '08 but got 19mpg. I noticed that the dealership had strangely reset the MPG on the dash, which I’ve never seen dealers do before. This one was averaging 14MPG. When I had their shop check it out, they said that was ‘normal for these cars’. I tried to argue, but was told "to spec"
3.I told them my AC blew warm in the 120deg that I live in. The techs again said that everything was working to spec. They claimed they changed a dirty AC filter, but everything else checked out. AC filters are supposed to be changed prior to being ‘Certified’, according to Buick. After that visit, my car started running better, which I don't believe was a coincidence. Something else was discovered, but brushed under the mat.
4.I had to argue with the manager that floor mats were included on a certified vehicle, but took a week for them to verify that.
5.They refused to put gas in the car. I purchased a $30k car running on fumes? a sign of character
6.The finance manager?! First,he tried to push me on the warranty (expected). Said these cars can be ‘money pits’. Again… I had just traded in the same car, so the pitch about the $700 per tire, $800 per key etc was obnoxious to say the least. When we started the loan paperwork, the finance manager tried to get me to sign without ever mentioning terms. When pressed, he tried to tell me that nearly 6% was my BEST option. Since he even pointed out that we had perfect credit, we said that it was not going to fly and after a couple hours, he 'found' a bank at 2.99%. After talking to a friend in the business and 3 other banks, it was revealed that the finance manager was just trying to make money off of us on the back end. We should have still gotten a lower rate!
After my scary engine failure, I took my car in to a different GM shop, with my list, including the engine failure, the HUGE dif MPG, fluttering in RPM's, HOT AC ETC. Now I have been without my car for 5 days, but the problems are being discovered. A simple diagnostic test revealed a broken fuel pressure sensor, clogged fuel injectors and a leak in the air conditioning unit. After looking at Buicks 172 point inspection, it was also discovered that they expect the cars to be clean, which it wasn't. Scratch free... which it is NOT, a carfax provided… which it wasn’t even offered (and now I have suspicions) and all these issues should have been discovered in the pre-sales inspection. To make matters worse, when I brought my car in for service, the salesman was 'excited' for me to use the certified car warranty. He asked how I was doing.
I said, ‘not great, since I’ve owned the car 5 days and it’s in the shop already.” To which his excited response was “Oh GOOD! You get to use the warranty! See how great it is to have those warranties?” No buddy... having all these issues is not exciting, since I paid a premium for a CERTIFIED used car, and got a lemon! I overpaid, and was almost conned into a HUGE rate so they could make even more off me. If you're considering going to TIM’S Buick GMC in Prescott AZ, I highly encourage you to THINK AGAIN. They are the worst of the worst, slimy salesmen, con-artist finance manager and uneducated techs who clearly do not value their customers! 1 star was WAY too good for them! BEWARE!!
