On December 13,2009 I went to Shannon Ensminger's home to view and talk about purchasing a teacup chihuahua for my mother for christmas. When I arrived I noticed right away that there where no parents on the premises. However, at the time I was not knowledable and very excited about purchasing a teacup for my mother.
Shannon promised that the puppy would not exceed 4lbs fully grown, which I have since learned that no breeder or person can guarantee the size of a puppy full grown.
Shannon had an answer for everything. I felt pressured as she stated that someone else was coming to look at the puppy. With it being so close to Christmas and me not being fully aware of what a chihuahua teacup puppy should look like I went head and purchased the puppy.
She stated that the dog was worth $1500.00 because she said it was show quality, but since I was going to give it as a companion pet for my mother she would only charge me $550.00. I paid the $550.00 in cash and she stated if I wanted papers I would have to pay another $100.00, which i could not afford.
My mother took the dog to the vet within three days she tried to contact Shannon before going to the vet. However, Shannon did not return her phone calls. Shannon stated the dog had already been dewormed three times and had it's first round of shots.
The vet said the puppy was infested with worms my mother had to take the puppy to the vet three more times to get rid of worms. Also the puppy had reaccouring urinary infections. The vet advised to go ahead and restart shots as she felt the dog had probably never been dewormed or given shots.
The vet believes this puppy came from a puppy mill, and has serious doubts that this is a full breed chihuahua. The chihuahua is now eight months old and weighs in at 10lbs and still growing. My mother has two other chihuahua's and this puppy looks nothing like the other two.
She also still has to monitor water intake due to him still having urinary problems. I feel conned and betrayed and the dog was not exactly what my mother was wanting however, my mom feels blessed that we saved the dog from Shannon Ensminger home. The puppy now named Chester has a loving home.

If your chihuahua reached 10 lbs and your statements are true please contact me immediately.
I only wish you would have contacted me before writing this cruel ripoff report.
But id like you to know we offer 100% satisfaction.
Size is not a guarentee ever but if your dog is 10 lbs and came from here We would deffinitely love to have you bring him back so we can see him.
I cant say weve never had dogs over 6 lbs as most breeders get the occasional bigger pup here and there, But We breed for 2 to 6 lb chihuahuas according to AKC Breed standards.
We are not above admitting if we are wrong or if we make a mistake and can only work to improve or better our customer service if these problems are brought to our attention.
If you bring your chihuahua to us to weigh him and its our puppy that we sold you, we will gladly let you keep him and pay you 100% of the purchase price back.
We do not have record of you by name or by the story you tell so just call us soon.

After going to the website to look at a puppy my cousin told me about, I did a little research of my own. You are not alone!! I know now not to buy from someone who does not house thier puppies ON SITE!!! Saying that they live some where else is a bunch of horse manure!! I feel sorry for you that you were lied to about the future weight of your chihuahua. I bet your mom is really sad. You should call the registry and tell them your concerns and ask for a DNA test. That can help you in the long run if you decide that you want to press charges for fraud. You were de frauded and conned into paying for something that you did not want.
The fact that she took 1000.00 off the price just becuase should tell you something! It wasn't worth that to begin with.
Call her vet and find out if the puppy was ever even seen. I bet not.
Best wishes to you, I wish the best to you and hope that she makes things right, but I have heard that Mrs. ensminger is not a kind and caring person like she acts when you are handing her the money. if there is ever a prob. she is rude and nasty on the phone. Just ask my cousin in Houston that bought a puppy from her.
(it had worms too) I just don't know why she still goes to the tiny paws and claws website at all.
