This company will call non-stop, on one occasion, 10+ phone calls on a Saturday.  Even after verbally requesting they stop, and via mail, they continue the harassment.  I changed my phone number on two different occasions.  They continue.  Now they harass my kids, tell them that I am going to lose my vehicle, threaten with $5.00 per day late fees, that my kids will be charged with fraud if they make payments on my behalf.  They will not accept debit or credit card payments over the phone even though they have the capability to do so.

Even though the loan is in my name solely, they release information about the terms and conditions of my loan, payment dates, and terms/conditions to my children and estranged family members.  They have called estranged family members indicating they are doing a "skip trace" on me.  I have filed complaints with the BBB, FTC, Tennessee, and Georgia attorney general, to no avail.  The paralegal for Title Max responded indicated "no wrongdoing" or "evidence of wrongdoing" on the part of Title Max.  And as of today, the phone calls, even though in direct violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, continue.

Simple Solution..

If you want them to stop calling you then make your payments ON-TIME...yes it really is that simple.   So let's actually take a look at what you are calling a "RipOff".

The fact is that they loaned you probably at least a couple thousand dollars..when no one else would.   In exchange for this money you made a legal agreement to make your payments.  But even though you quite interestingly left any specific mention of your delinquency out, it is very obvious that you are delinquent.  So what did you do when you became delinquent?  You CHANGED your phone number so they can not contact you.  So not only do you have several thousand dollars, you are intentionally trying to hide yourself.  I would bet that this would not only include your phone number, but I bet you are hiding the vehicle from them as well.  Yet they are the RipOff..not quite?  In fact in some circles what you are doing could be seen as a crime.

There is a reason that all of your complaints were to "no avail" it is because they are doing nothing wrong.  They deal with the "sub-prime" borrower who has a history of not paying their bills.  As a result they are going to be a lot more aggressive to make sure they get paid.  Oh and any thoughts on their FDCPA violations..perhaps you should read that as well.  The biggest thing you will notice is that it only applies to 3rd party collection agencies...of which TitleMax is not(they are considered an original creditor).

Now, don't get me wrong.  These Title loans are just about the worst thing you can get yourself into.  Because not only do they have high interest rates, you are putting up your vehicle as collateral.  But the fact is that they did not force you to take the loan and you did make an agreement to make the payments.  So you now have to face up to what you are doing and either make your payments on-time or accept the consequences, which yes could include your vehicle being repossessed.

You didn't really say so, but.......

You must not be paying them as per the agreement YOU signed. Whether or not they're violating FDCPA, I don't know. The upshot is, YOU took out a very inadvisable loan with them and haven't lived up to its terms.

My guess is, you're a serial deadbeat. Of course this company ripped you off.  Anybody foolish enough to patronize them gets ripped off.
