I had the absolute worst customer experience ever this week in dealing with TitleMax in Loganville, GA.  I had a past due balance and had been out of the state for the past 2 1/2 weeks due to a death in the family. Once I returned, I called to touch bases with them to let them know what is going on. As I am explaining my situation to the General Manger, Crystal Tisch, she cuts me off and says "Well when was the last time you contacted us? So you didn't have a phone where ever you've been?" I tell her again that I was dealing with a death in the family.  She then says "Well you do realize that if you are not paying your bills on time your car will be repossessed and you won't be able to get anything?" Her tone was very condenscending and then she says "You called up here all nonchalant like it's no big deal that you are 45 days late on this debt you owe us." I tried to stay calm and not react to her aggressive questioning (hence, why I guess she stated I was acting nonchalant) but that last comment set me off and I called her a few choice words at that point.

I stopped by the office to get her name and the name of the person she reports to and she laughs and says "You are more than welcome to call that number" and she points to the toll free number hanging on the wall of the office. I told her that I would be calling because I don't care if I owe TitleMax one million dollars that I deserve to be spoken to respectfully and not talked down to like I am 12 years old. She again thought it was one big joke and laughed again.  I have ALWAYS had a great experience with the other employees in the office, and this is the first time I have ever had any interaction with her so I assume she is new. She is going to run that office in the ground if that is how she talks to customers. She also stated "There is nothing wrong with the way I speak to people. I speak just fine and no one has a problem with it but you." She acts like someone who has a mental problem because when is it ok to talk to customers like that??  When I stated that to her she just laughed again. I left because things were about to escalate to a point of no return.

I am LIVID! I will absolutely NEVER give my business to TitleMax again! . I have never been this late in paying on my loan and others in that office can attest to that. I always call but with a death in the family calling TitleMax was not really top of my priority list. When I did call then she starts in on me like she is scolding a dog. Then says you're calling in here all nonchalant like you're not late. So are customers supposed to call in begging for forgiveness because we are late? I called to let her know what was going on and to try to resolve the late payment. We never got that far because she was rude from the start. It is very disappointing to know that I have to continuously deal with TitleMax until the loan is paid when they have someone in management that treats people like she treated me this evening. What's even more disappointing is that even though I have contacted the corporate office my complaint will probably just be put in a pile and disregarded while she continues to disrespect and humiliate customers. This is a sad commentary on how little they value their customers.

Phony excuse

AUTHOR: coast - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 20, 2014

You were 45-days late when you finally called them. Therefore you were four weeks behind on your payments before you went out of town so your excuse is not valid.

Ever hear of something called the US Postal service? You could have mailed them the payment.

Go Trolling Somewhere Else...

AUTHOR: April - ()

POSTED: Thursday, November 20, 2014

This is why I say you sound ignorant...I paid the following day and again that's why I called...to let them know that I was coming in the following day because I had just gotten back in town.  She never heard me out because she was too busy trying to ridicule me. Maybe you should go work for them...you definitely would fit in well. Obviously, you have nothing else better to do. I am sharing MY experience and your two cents does not change the fact that it happened and that it was wrong! Go trolling somewhere else...

Typical Response

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 19, 2014

Ah yes typical response.  The I don't agree with what you are saying so I am going to say that you must be an employee.

Yea, well sorry to burst your bubble but NO I am not now or have I ever been an employee or anyways affilated with this company.  Not only that, but if you actually read my report you would see that I think it is a great thing if you never step foot in their store again.

Now let's go back to your original post.  You made the following two statements.

I have never been this late in paying on my loan and others in that office can attest to that.

I have ALWAYS had a great experience with the other employees in the office, and this is the first time I have ever had any interaction with her so I assume she is new.

Umm..so you "assume" she is new and that is the reason she was rude to you.  You don't see any other possible reason based on those two statements that you would be treated like this?  Please...look again.  Really it isn't that hard...keep looking.

Give Up?  Okay well let me give you a thought.  Perhaps you ALWAYS had a great experience because you were NEVER that late.  You may find this a shock but you will find with every creditor the more delinquent you get the less nice they become.

I was not calling to dispute that I was late. I was calling to resolve it...bottom line!

-And again I never said you were disputing it.  The ONLY thing I stated is that the way to resolve it was to make the past due payment.  If you wanted to do anything else other than that, you were acting like every other "deadbeat" who makes up excuse after excuse as to why their reason for being late is a valid reason why the company should give them a break.  You may not be a "deadbeat"..but you are acting like on in that case.

And again..the person you talked to hears dozens of excuses all day and when they have a majority of those people lying they are not going to take the time to determine who is telling the truth...this is just the facts of dealing with a sub-prime lender.

You don't know what a person's circumstances are so you treat people as individuals with kindness and respect point blank,

- And where in your agreement does it say your circumstances can change when you make your payments?  Let me give you another scenario.  Since you want them to give you a break when you are going through a rough patch...how would you feel if the company that allowed you to borrow THEIR money moved up your pay date 14 days because they were having money flow issues.  Would you sit there and say "sure..no problem"..or would you tell them to go "pound sand" because you want them to abide by the agreement...THINK ABOUT IT.

Ignorance Is Bliss I Guess

AUTHOR: April - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 19, 2014

"Robert"...yeah right! You sound just as ignorant as her but we'll go with it "Robert". You are totally missing my point. I was not calling to dispute that I was late. I was calling to resolve it...bottom line! So just because they are a sub-prime lender it is ok to treat your customers with disrespect? That sounds about right for Loganville, GA. That's like saying well because you work at McDonald's I can come in and treat you like crap because you work a low paying job. I didn't call being aggressive with her so there was no reason for her to speak to me as she did. Let's not forget that if it weren't for sub-prime borrowers like myself TitleMax wouldn't be in business. You don't know what a person's circumstances are so you treat people as individuals with kindness and respect point blank, Crystal...sorry, I mean "Robert".

Titlemax

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, November 19, 2014

Titlemax is a SUB-PRIME lender who deal with people who have not proven they can handle credit.

But you say...well I really did have to deal with a death in the family.  Well guess what, the person you talked to probably had 50 other people before you that day say that they had a death in the family too, there was everyone from a parent to 4th cousin twice removed kicking the bucket.  And guess what...probably 48 of them were lying.  I'll let you figure out which 48.  The ones who didn't say they had a death, are well armed with another dozen excuses as to why they couldn't pay.

So yes if you are dealing with a sub-prime lender you are going to get treated like a sub-prime borrower..especially if you are late.

But let's get to your contract.  Did it say you could be late if you had a very good reason?  NO..it said you had to make your payments on a specific day for a specific amount.  You FAILED to do that.  You said you called to see what you could work out on the late payment...the only thing you could do is to actually pay the bill.  Yes, it really is that simple.

Oh and as for not going to them ever again.  Personally I think that is a good thing.  But if you are going to come here and say you could get a loan anywhere else then one must ask are you lying or just an idiot.  Because if your credit was good enough to get a loan through more "regular" means, why haven't you before this?  Why do you continue to pay their high interest rate?
