I am filing this report to warn others about TitleMax of Wisconsin, specifically their Appleton location, and their corporate handling of my vehicle loan. TitleMax illegally repossessed my vehicle twice, including once in June 2025, without providing the legally required Right to Cure notice under Wisconsin law. I had previously reinstated the loan in January 2025, and had made multiple payments totaling over $4,000 to TitleMax — more than the original principal loan amount. I borrowed $4,035, and yet they are now demanding an additional $6,286.51 to recover my vehicle — despite already keeping the car and refusing to return it. During the most recent repossession, they: Refused to provide documentation Denied access to my personal property Kept the ashes of my deceased sister and my children’s softball equipment Would not disclose the vehicle’s location Ignored multiple written legal requests and formal demand letters I have filed complaints with the following agencies: Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (WDFI) Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) Wisconsin Attorney General’s Office Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Better Business Bureau (BBB) And I have filed a civil court case in Outagamie County, WI TitleMax has made no legitimate attempt to resolve this matter. They gave me a deadline to respond to their "offer” — yet the offer was simply that I pay them again to get back my own vehicle, which I had already paid on for months. They responded to my public reviews on Google and Yelp with a generic "please call us,” while refusing to communicate in writing or comply with the law. I will continue pursuing full justice through court. TitleMax has caused extreme stress, hardship, and emotional damage in the middle of a devastating time in my life. Their behavior is predatory and unlawful. I encourage anyone who has dealt with TitleMax to document everything, submit complaints, and stand up to this company.

Correction: I mistakenly stated that I filed a civil claim against TitleMax. As of now, I have not yet filed a civil suit, but I have filed a small claims case and taken formal legal steps, including complaints to WDFI, CFPB, FTC, and the Wisconsin Attorney General.
