For legal resons, I'm stating this is only my opinion and you should only take my opinion into consideration when dealing with this company. It's my opinion that you should avoid business with this company and find another company who would should be able to deliever what is paid for. Also, it is my opinion that this company is dishonest in the information they give you.
In Feb of 2015, I hired titlerecovery.com / AFX, LLC to acquire a title for a antique vehicle I was selling out of state as the buyer specifically stated they needed a title in order for them to purchase the vehicle. In Georgia, vehicles over 25 years will not be issued a GA title unless the vehicle wa already titled and vehicles older than 1962 or 1963 will not be issued at title at all and only a GA registration (which can be used to get a tag in the state). I looked at a few other title recovery companies and ended up choosing this company because they promised me they would be able to get an actual title for the vehicle through another state.
I paid them and filled out all the paperwork they sent and about 30 days later I received a registration from the state of Vermont and a tax bill for little over $300 dollar as Vermont decided the vehicle was worth $3500, I only paid 500 for it, but there was nothing I could do to fight it so I ended up paying it expecting I would receive what I was paid for, a title.
During the time I was waiting for the company to do the VIN check and research, I received an email from them stating the following, direct quote from the email letter...."Due to the vehicle background and history, along with DMV restrictions in your state, it was necessary to have new ownership documents issued from another state." This is a complete lie as Georgia will issue a registration and tag with only a Law Enforcement VIN check, a bill of sale and proof of insurance.
The above statement is completely false and they knew that VT would only issue the same type of paperwork, aka a registration, which I could of obtained in about 20 minutes and for about 40.00 all in instead of close to $900 that I was charged by titlerecovery and the state of VT. It's my opinion that if a company is honest, they would of said that my state would issue the document I needed and refunded the money, but they seem to be more interested in taking money from their clients instead of providing an acutal service.
I after I received the VT regirstion and waited about a week for the title to arrive, I called the company and was told that the document I received wa what I needed to get a title issued in GA. I took the document down and the DMV stated that I needed an actual VT title to get a title and the only thing that they would be able to issue me was a GA registration, which is the same thing I could of picked up solo in 20 minutes and a lot less money and time.
At this point, I was fed up with the company and ended up going another route to get the title that actually put a real title in my hands in about 2 weeks.
Its my opinion that anyone looking to to get a replacment title or have a new title issued should steer clear of www.titlerecovery.com / AFX,LLC as my experience has been that they do not deliever what they promise in the sales pitch and lie about your own states laws in order to keep you using their service and your money.
STAY AWAY and find another company, also before hiring any title company, call your local DMV and see what it takes to get a title or registration in your state as it would be a lot cheaper than using this company
