This company is a total SCAM!
They place ads in the local paper for "distribution center" jobs and give an 800 number for you to call.
Then you attend a mass interview, along with about 50 other people. The speaker, who called himself "Scott Martin" at ours, gives a big infomercial-like speech. He points out the "owner" of the distributor, who sits in the back quietly. Ours was in a pretty crappy building that looked like it had just been rented. They were smoking indoors and throwing their cigarette butts on the carpet!
After that, you get a "personal interview" with one of the two scam artists. If you seem clueless and don't ask questions, they'll invite you back for the next 4 days of UNPAID training.
During the training, they promise you'll make over $1200 a week from appointments they set up in the homes of people who want to buy their Filter Queen Defender 360 air purifier. They say they get the appointments from their infomercial (which supposedly stars JAMES EARL JONES? Yeah right!) and Physician referrals.
However, they really get their referrals by cold-calling people from the phone book and telling them they won a prize! The "customer" is then told that, in order for them to get the prize, they must sit through a 30 minute presentation! So, as a salesperson, you are not welcomed at all! To top it off, you're supposed to sell them an air purifier for $1000 that goes on eBay for about 1/4 of that price!
Also, the contract you must sign in order to become an independent contractor (hey! what happened to medical, dental, and vision benefits now that you're a contractor and not an employee? oh, that's right! you don't get them!) This is the worst part of the scam: they actually make you sign a paper that says (in jargon) that they DO NOT HAVE TO PAY YOU. They say that it's "at their discretion!"
When confronted with this information in front of our entire training class, Mr. Martin, while sweating profusely, denied everything. When asked about the above referenced contract clause, he simply said "oh, but we will pay you!" I asked why he wouldn't put it in writing, and he had no answer.
When people started walking out of training, Mr. Martin SNAPPED. He started throwing out personal jabs at people. The worst was a man who quietly got up to leave and said "I've seen enough." Mr. Martin yelled after him "GO GROW SOME MORE POT SINCE YOU ALREADY HAVE A FELONY FOR IT!" This was private information that he had provided on his application!! After that, pretty much everyone decided that he was an unethical person and got up and left. Unfortunately, some of them stayed.
I also thought it was funny that they kept demanding I leave every time I asked a question that they couldn't honestly answer. When I didn't, the owner's wife came in screaming at me and had to be restrained by several men. I firmly believe that it would have gotten physical if they hadn't. How professional!
If you want to find the same scam under different distributor names, just search the site for "Filter Queen" or "Health-Mor!"

I hate to burst your bubble Randy
AUTHOR: Tim - ()
SUBMITTED: Friday, September 13, 2013
I'm sure Randy that with the recent lawsuit decision between strippers classified as contracted workers and the rules they had to comply with while working for the company could have the same impact between HMI, their distributors, and their independent contractors:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/sns-rt-us-usa-labor-strippers-20130910,0,4113974.story
While this is a different industry, the methods that the contractors won the rulling were similar because HMI independent contract workers must do the following:
1) Report to an office on a daily basis for sales meetings.
2) Told to clean the office.
3) Told to answer the phones.
4) Have to fill out and assist in the processing of paperwork for sales.
5) Deliver equipment.
If an independent contractor is being told by a supervisor or owner to do these tasks without monetary compensation, then they are no longer classifed as an independent contractor and you may be subject to minimum wage laws as defined in the State of Washington as well as federal guidelines. As you know, those wages are the highest in the nation where your at.
If your doing these five things, your just asking for a class action lawsuit to happen. This state will pretty much send auditors in to scrutinize over everything you do once you lose it.
I'm not a lawyer Randy (although I do have knowlege of business laws with the degrees I have) but you can thank me for being the messenger since you may not have the time to spend on current legal affairs.
Good luck with that.

"Talk bad about Mr. Martin all you want but please leave my company and
the manufacturer out of it."
Mr. Martin is/was a representative of your company, so I will definitely not leave the company out of it when speaking about my experience. Many others have posted in this thread since I created it nearly 7 years ago, and most have reported similar experiences. Others like you have defended the company, which really just makes you look shady instead of improving the image of the company. If you truly are as honest as you say, then you should probably find a more reputable company to work for, because, as you can see, there are MANY people who had experiences just like mine. Instead of coming here and insulting honest people who had bad experiences, maybe you should try to positively promote your company instead of presenting yourself as another scumbag puppet who sleeps well at night knowing that he scams people for a living.
"I'm sorry you had a bad experience but slandering my company isn't
go to make your experience any better."
First, I don't think you know what the legal definition of "slander" is. Second, nothing will make MY experience better, because I already wasted my time and got screwed over. I wrote this post to help others avoid having the same bad experience, and I'm not sorry if it offended you. Go away.

Same old garbage Randy that every distributor and/or salesperson foams at the mouth about:
BBB rating (which is laughable on this site)
Things are going well
I see you didn't say anything about how overpriced those $700 cleaning systems are, how it takes 90 minutes to sell them, and how about the expensive those air filters are that probably running about $200 these days on Ebay. How about the high interest payments that customers get charged? What about the secondary creditor approval sales that reduce salesperson commission down to $75.00?
When those things happen Randy and KOMO gets email about your sales and business practices, don't be surprised if I get the phone call from Seattle (or KATU in Portland since your nearby that market) and how I will tell her how the company sucks from top to bottom. I have a lot of media connections in Seattle in all forms and I do get interview requests all over the country because of this thread. No offense Randy, it's just business and I'm here in the middle of Oregon helping entrepreneurs that are serious about staying in business. Since Healthmoor was a publicly traded company at one time, it's not that hard to get the dirt on their reputation. They just like to get the young and naive ones in the company that don't ask questions.
Oh and I would hope you spend the extra dough to background check your dealers. Somehow the company gets felons that can't seem to be rehabilitated that fall through the cracks.
Keep in mind that most Healthmor business practices keep business owners from setting up shop in the state of Oregon. You can't hire independent contractors that way in this state. You can sell in Portland.
Well Randy when things don't go well I hope that you consider attending school here in Corvallis. We have a new College of Business we are building at OSU and will have it opened by 2014.
Door to door business is old school. If Healthmor really stood behind their products Randy, they wouldn't need you to jack up the prices up when they could sell them for 80% less (eliminating the middle men) at Best Buy and Walmart. They would sell more than independent owners could ever do but they can't support the product at that volume regardless.
Especially when Dyson makes many claims that Filter Queen does at a lower price it would be nice if they could prove it on the sales floor of the yellow tag.
Good luck.

First of all this sales system and HMI is a great oppurunity. My boss runs the 4th best in the world for HMI. Our company name is Coastal Aire and we are in Washington State. Our contracts are very clear in black and white that we get paid 900 bi weekly for doing 28 demo's. All of theese demo's are provided by the company. 10% come from tele marketing. 40% come from doing fair shows. Home builders expo's etc. 30% come from poker tickets. Which is a prize giveaway in return for doing the demo's. The other 20% come from referrals. We offer a very nice cookware set in return for 4 referals.
you can generate your own leads but it is not required and we are never allowed to go door to door. Talk bad about Mr. Martin all you want but please leave my company and the manufacturer out of it. Some guys make 2500 dollars a week doing sales. I Haven't done that well but I work part time and bring in 4,000 a month. Pretty good I'd say. My company is very honest and so are my co-workers and I.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience but slandering my company isn't go to make your experience any better. Also we have an a+ rating with the BBB and a gold star from the chamber of commerce.

It is a scam. You lie to everyone that works for you. You lie to the people you sell your products too. You even lie to get them in the door. You take advantage of everyone. As advocate for former Filter Queen employees and customers I do get calls from the media about every distributors practices from across the United States. This thread is pretty old for Filter Queen. I've responded on this thread for the last six years and it isn't going away anytime soon. If you work for them go find something else to do. You can make more in fast food.
If Filter Queen products were so good they wouldn't need "distributors" in this day and age to sell them. They would use Best Buy or Walmart like everyone else does and evolve with the 21st century.
I hope that every one who purchases or wants to work for Filter Queeen has better Google this thread to find the real facts.

Run Forest! RUUUUNN!
AUTHOR: Big Tricep - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Friday, February 12, 2010
First of all, I used to be an employee with this company out of the Ashland, OH branch (NEO Environmental). I spent the time in the unpaid training, the weekend selling the products, and two consecutive weeks afterwards with the company before leaving on my own account. Through my time with this company I learned a great deal about the product and honestly believe that, because of the way the devices are designed (especially the surface cleaner device), there is not a better device on the market. However, it is still no excuse for the deception used to gain employees nor does it make it acceptable to lie to the employees during their unpaid training.
False Advertising on the Part of Wages:
From beginning to start, things started to slowly unravel. On the day I arrived to the hotel for the interview process, I was told that I was going to be paid $15/hour from the beginning of my employment. Come to find out, that's only if you run 15 appointments a week and can't sell two basic packages worth of equipment. If you run 12 and don't sell anything then you also get compensated nothing. This was explained to me AFTER I had gone through the unpaid training. So the hourly wage that they put in the newspaper is a complete farce in order to gather massive amounts of people to the mass interview at the hotel the following day.
Deception on the Part of Health Insurance:
Furthermore during this mass interview at the hotel, I was told I was going to get health insurance that covered major medical, dental, vision, and even hollistics (natural medicines like chiropractor services). Heres the catch 22. Youre going to be an independent contractor with this company. This means that you fill out a 1099 tax form and get to list any business expenses that you have as write-offs. THIS DOES NOT MEAN THE COMPANY PROVIDES HEALTH INSURANCE FOR YOU. Ive been in direct selling before and I find the independent contractor benefits are fair. However, a company providing major medical group health insurance through an authorized in-state insurance provider where money premiums can be deducted from your paycheck is completely different than buying an individual health insurance policy in your own name and writing off the expenses.
Lies Regarding Lead Programs & Appointment Setting:
As further proof of the problematic process, on the first day at the hotel we were all told that the office would set ALL of our appointments. This was going to make my life easy. However, when I was going out showing the product over the weekend people were extremely reluctant to fill out the rewards program data. They were afraid this information would be used to contact other people as leads instead of rewards. All of these people, and the people they know, are also people I know personally. Therefore, I told my presentees that if they did not want to fill out the contact information for these individuals and that if these individuals were selected as a winner, I would personally deliver the gift to the places in which I know where they live. As Tuesday arrived, it was time to turn in our rewards program data. This was NOW explained to me that these people WERE going to be contacted and that this was a leads program. I have no problems with leads programs and I understand that the sales world needs to be able to sell their products. This is required in order to have any sort of an economy. I do, however, have problems with being lied to and inadvertently deceiving the people I know through the lie I was told. As time went on, since I had not collected any useful data from the leads program in which the company HAD LIED TO ME ABOUT, the company was NOT SETTING ANY appointments for me. This is a stark contrast to the office setting EVERY appointment for me. Im not against going out and getting my own appointments, but Im not door-knocking around my community to barge my way into a home and solicit a product for a company in which I dont know if theyre telling me the truth or not.
Amidst these examples are stories of personal experiences told by Scott Martin I know he got from books, employees who act in a manner that it is shocking they havent been slapped with a sexual harassment suit yet, and an owner who doesnt agree with the way Scott recruits but doesnt do anything about it. As the initial report brings out, Scott Martin shared information publicly about a person who committed a felony. He also did this in the Ashland area as well. The 90 day cross-training talk seems to be like an excuse for burning out your salespersons networks to me. Plus, I dont see or hear of anybody whos been a salesperson with this company for over 2 years. If you have any doubts about this then pay attention to the people theyve hired to run the office if youre in Ashland, OH. That should be a red flag for you if youve missed the point of everything else mentioned here.
Have some dignity regarding the value of your time and the value of your resources. Simply have nothing to do with any of this mess. If you're in this already, just walk out.

The side of truth
AUTHOR: Boobear - (USA)
SUBMITTED: Monday, January 04, 2010
My boyfriend started working with this company and they used similar type tactics. They have gone over board to the point where I will file my own complaint and will not hesitate to join a class action lawsuit or to file one of my own.
Now I myself have a background in direct sales and I know it is an effective way to make money and the right opportunity can give you a chance to help people. Filter Queen has a good product, the problem with Filter Queen is their integrity on the people side of things. They make a lot of false promises, they mislead, they are VERY unprofessional in general. The product is a good product. I am doing research on its competition right now.
If the company were to modify its recruiting and present itself as a more professional organization that truly wants to help others succeed it could turn things around. I think the reps that really want to work will make good money and they can make life changing kind of money.
Its ironic that the people who sell these systems are the ones that really do need to clean up their act!

I went to the group "interview" today and was very skeptical, so I did my research and found all of these blogs. I will be going to training tomorrow to confront Scott Martin and to get my application back from him. I do not trust my SSN in his hands, which I foolishly wrote on the application. Why be so evasive about what it is you are trying to sell and what the company does? It is shameful that in this economic recession, people are still trying to swindle each other. Just be honest and upfront in your ad, or in that first meeting. Why keep dragging it out through 3 training days??? I will be reporting this to the BBB, the local news, and the attorney general as this screams misleading and false claims.

Ashland, Ohio training experiences - corrections
AUTHOR: Mark - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, February 29, 2008
I wrote the rebuttal above too quickly - sorry. Apparently I cannot correct my rebuttal, but only add another rebuttal showing the corrections, so here are the corrections:
1 - The trainer's name was Scott Martin, not Jerry Martin. (I guess I was subconsciously thinking of Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin when I wrote it - oops!)
2 - Under Commission, I had the projected weekly sales numbers wrong. Instead of $1500 to $3000, we were told $3000 to $6000. So the third sentence should read:
For example: 'installing' equipment that cost between $3000 and $6000 would yield a commission of between $450 and $750 - do the math yourself and try to confirm that $6000 x 15% = $750.
I regret any confusion caused.

As I was not paid, I'm not really an Ex-Employee. I can be best characterized as an Ex-Trainee.
"FDA certification training."
I dropped out after day 2 of 4 days of "FDA certification training" begun on Feb. 18, 2008 and conducted at a Holiday Inn in Ashland, Ohio. I'm writing this to confirm nearly all of what has been previously posted, but please read carefully as this company seems to have adjusted their approach (possibly as a consequence of the criticism found here). At least through day 2, the training did not appear to lead to any sort of "FDA certification" (which might make the 4 days of unpaid training worth the time investment) and portraying it thusly appeared to me to be misleading.
"Installation" vs. Sales.
On day 1, Jerry Martin described the job as "installing an FDA Class 2 medical device." He explicitly said that it is not sales and that the customers are "pre-sold." By the end of day 2 it was clear to me and most others that the job is sales. Heaven knows that the world needs salespeople but I want to know that going in, not on day 2 of unpaid training, as my heart is not really into sales.
Commission.
We were told that, on average, 15 prospective customers were contacted per week and that, based on prior history, we could anticipate "installing" 3 of every 5 of them. We were promised $15 per hour plus a 15% commission. For example: "installing" equipment that cost between $1500 and $3000 would yield a commission of between $450 and $750 - do the math yourself and try to confirm that $3000 x 15% = $750. Was this a simple mistake? Well, several people pointed the error out to Jerry Martin but he continued to repeat it. Is this a quibble? Perhaps yes, or perhaps the commission is sliding based on total "installations." I don't know and since Jerry Martin would not even acknowledge the discrepancy, it went unanswered.
0.3 micron vs. 0.1 micron.
The difference between filtration of particles down to 0.3 micron (HEPA filter) and filtration of particles down to 0.1 micron (HMI's filter system) can be described as "3-times better" or "300% better". It was described to us, and we were to repeat to the prospective buyer: "300-times better." This is clearly misleading. What is the real filtration improvement? According to its own web site, http://www.health-mor.com/air-filtration-systems.html, the difference between 0.3 micron filtration and 0.1 micron filtration is the difference between "... 99.97% of pollutants ..." and "... 99.98% of pollutants ..." In terms of the number of airborne pollutants actually removed the difference is clearly only 0.01%. Was Jerry Martin misleading or simply confused? I don't know.
Overall.
The company was called Health-Mor but a Google search turns up identical pages as "Filterqueen" - compare http://www.filterqueen.com/air-filtration-systems.html with http://www.health-mor.com/air-filtration-systems.html. Filterqueen appears to be a brand name to which model names "Majestic" and "Defender" are then appended. I never got to see the Majestic, which turns out to be a vacuum cleaner, as that came on day 3 of the "FDA certification training."
I have no doubt that HMI's products, though rather pricey, are superior. I just found it sad that the company feels it has to recruit its potential sales force based on misleading statements.
Regarding Jerry Martin, he's obviously a traveling salesman of the old school. His presentation included a continuous series of sexual innuendo and references to drugs and alcohol. Regarding his presentation (not actual sexual harassment or the actual use or advocacy of drugs and alcohol), he referred to this as "having fun." I found his presentation to be 1, unprofessional, 2, strange, and 3, a dead tip off that I didn't want to pursue any further "FDA certification training."
I think that Health-Mor needs to come clean and would profit by updating its recruitment methods. I'm not sure that it can continue to be profitable with its current "door-to-door salesman" model and I certainly don't want to tie my future to its future.

In terms of the number of airborne pollutants actually removed the difference is clearly only 0.01%.

Ashland, Ohio training experiences.

This is standard practice for Filter Queen
AUTHOR: Tim - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, October 09, 2007
The writing has been on the wall with Healthmoor, HMI, and Filter Queen for years. Agressive distributors recruiting people in mass meetings telling them at first it is a job with such descriptions as marketing research or "getting peoples opinion on air quality products". These are not the same tactics that Kirby or Rainbow uses to recruit salespeople. When you want to sell vaccum cleaners for the competitors, you know what your getting yourself into. HMI distributors purposely water it down. This has been going on for years.
They expect you the "independent contractor" to sell these machines at a high price and give you very little in commission.
I've made comments about a similiar distributorship I worked for in Seattle that is no longer in business called "Sound Filtration". I have posted blogs on here about them as well.
The bottom line is this isn't a legitimate company from the CEO all the way down. There are plenty of blogs left on here over the years about them.
If you work for them, you should consider finding yourself a legitimate job.

Yeah ok, so it's sweeper sales. Everyone knows all this by now. Yeah so what, they do put a bit of deception into gaining their employees, but think about it, if they put an ad into the newspaper saying "LOCAL BUSINESS LOOKING FOR SWEEPER SALESMAN" how many people do you think would honestly show up? It's all part of how they do business and it's no big deal. I was a part of this company for a little over a month in December of 05, and did what I consider moderately well. This is not an easy job but it can have VERY VERY NICE rewards if you're not afraid to do a presentation in front of a stranger and are halfway descent at sales.
Listen, Health Mor has been around for EONS of time, and filterqueen is older than most of the people at your local nursing home. Health Mor sells their products (which are very excellent products) through Master Disturbutors who purchase these direct from Health Mor. Then smaller distributors such as TJS Industries purchase from the master distributor's and to sell them. If you do good in this business you can get your own distubutor of filter queen products. THAT'S RIGHT, HEALTH MOR WILL TEACH YOU BUSINESS TACTICS AND SET YOU UP WITH YOUR VERY OWN FUNCTIONING BUSINESS!! This a company that takes care of it's dedicated people. And YES THEIR PRODUCTS ARE APPROVED BY THE FDA!! Look, we all know this stuff is over-priced, but guess what, if it wasn't priced like this then thousands of people who own Distibutors and Master distrubots would not be able to make a good living like they do.
Hey how many of you would like to be a millioaire one day??? I bet everyone said 'yes' to that question, right? .. Well guess what, if you sell 30,000 of these filterqueen Units, Health Mor gives you a BIG FAT CHECK FOR 1,000,000. NO JOKE! People who have excelled and moved up in this business, gained their own distributor have gained this check before. Trust me, this product does sell itself, reaching 30,000 units is not an impossible feet by any means. One standard package counts as two units. When you have your own distributorship people who work for you selling these products, they count towards your total number of sold products.
The biggest deterrant for me at the time was this job does require a lot of hours to be successful like almost ANY sales job. Also, it requires a lot of driving around and trying to promote you're sales. I drive an SUV and have children, when I began this job, I was just starting out so it was really hard for me to keep up with the ever rising gas prices and the continual beating of the pavement this job took to be successful, but I always told myself that I would like to give it another try if I could get somewhat established and a car that was easy on gas. It is a great challenge, kind of nerve-wrecking if your new to it, but everytime you get a sale it's like a rush. It's not that bad really, you just need to have the right type of personality.
No lawsuits will ever be filed, they havent broken the law. Health Mor covers this from every angle, trust me. They know what they are doing and they are perfectly within their rights.

Heres what the ad said... Take Air Samples In the Youngstown Area! Earn Up to 11.65 an Hour. Paid Training! Who wouldnt call??
So I call and the guy sets up an appointment. When I arrive at 9:15am the next day it is on the 2nd floor of a plaza. No sign telling me who the company was on the outside. Just DNA Industries by the room number downstairs. Written in pencil...
So I go up and there are about 20 people sitting there. I sit down and some guy who looks like elvis/david bowie walks out and has me fill out a generic application.
The guy was real nice...but also the people there with me never challenged what he said or anything. So he goes on about how they have been in business for 80 years and finally got an FDA approval etc. But he never says the company name in any of his speach..
So he calls us in one by one and he tells me he will call between 4 and 5 today if I have the second interview. Well he calls and I goto the second interview. Same place..at 10am, only theres a few less people this time in the room. He explains what we will be selling...that its 100% proven to remove 100% of the viruses in the air. He has two Defenders out for display and was talking about a Majestic that does 4 things in 1. He tells us that we will get $450 a week for doing 15 sales. But we dont have to sell anything to get the $450. And after 90 days we get a raise to $525 a week. He tells us how we will be selling and has us fill out and sign some papers. Also he says the training is not paid but we will be paid when we "test" sell 10 times to our friends and family.
All in all it was pretty shady...and Im glad I got on here and researched it before going forward and doing this.

Looking through local newspapers in my area, Ashland, KY, Portsmouth,OH, Ironton, OH, Huntington, WV, etc I have notice a specific pattern of advertisment for their training classes and hiring process. I've seen $12-14/hr, work at a distribution center, $16-18/hr, full time work, etc, etc. Where is the consistency? Why all of this deception to get people in the door to work for your company? Why are you not honest UPFRONT about everything? It's clear deception and ever since March, I look, and I look but I cannot find ONE SINGLE office, warehouse, or phone number for an actual physical location, like Mr. Martin said they were constructing and planning on working out of in my area.
This is a flight by night operation working out of hotels and short-term lease buildings. The leads are bogus as stated by numerous individuals across the nation on this website. They just want to make a few thousand dollars off of you and your families/friends over that first weekend in operation out of their hotel conference rooms. The new telephone book was released not too long ago. Why no listing? Are you not a business? A legitimate one that someone in this report has stated?

There is nothing in the ad that states they need people to sell sweapers. What are they scared of? Why dont they put in the paper that they need people to sell sweapers? I will tell you why, because no one would show up if they did. Then they dont tell you that they are selling sweapers till the 2nd day in class.
People even quit their full time jobs to go through this, then end up finding out they would be selling sweapers.I even asked Scott Martin the very first day if they would be selling sweapers, and he said no.
Then the next day, here comes a sweaper. If everyone stuck together and got a class action law suit against them for deceiving people, then these low lifes would not be around. That is my point.

Ok christy or valerie or what ever your name is. If you think about the response you gave in your last report, you stated that you are still selling the system. so you do appreciate the product and you do feel that people should own a system like this. So you have to admitt that you are greatful for sitting in the training class and learning about the products, because you have been able to earn money from selling them. Here you were bad mouthing the company that gave you an opportunity to make money. Its fascinating how people can be so quick to judge, without giving a chance. You focus your life on a negative perspective and always jump to conclusions. I bet you are one of those people who at christmas time, when opening presents, is never happy with what you recieved. That the presents that are given to you are never good enough. Remember you came to them for a job. Not the other way around. I as an associate got financial freedom. I moved from low income housing to a gated community, and was able to support my family. I was given the opportunity with the Edge program, and was able to take advantage of it. Yes i agree that this job is not for everyone. Maybe you just need a job that is less motivating or maybe a job with no room to advance. If that is the case, then i agree that you should not be in the business. People dont plan to fail, they fail to plan. Just remember that, the next time you apply to a company and are given another outstanding opportunity. If given the chance to succeed, most people will.

I cant believe you dont remember me. My deal actually fell through, I told my family member to cancel the order and read what was on here. I told them I could get the whole complete system for them, for 750$. Isn't ebay great? So far I have sold 5 complete systems for 750$ that also has the 5yr warranty. Next thing I will do is put it in the paper for this amount. I ended up getting in good with this guy from ebay, that is also a distibuter. and I am still making 250$ per system. Isnt America great.
Now on to the scammer part, these people have been all over the US trying to recruit people to sell their product. The more people they hire, the more money they make. I have even heard that if the people under you Patty sale 15000 systems, you get a 1,000,000$ bonus. No wonder they are trying to recruit as many people as they can. Its pretty much like this, you go to this great hiring event, if you can walk and breath and dont ask questions, you will go to the last day.
They know as soon as they introduce the Vacuum, or (germ squirter, thats what Scott Martin calls it), that half the class will leave. If you are selling sweaper, then put it in the paper that you need people to sell sweapers, and quit decieving people by stating you have a distribution center and you need warehouse people. There was people in our class that quit their job to go to this and to find out they have to sell these overpriced sweapers. Pretty dirty if you ask me. I should have my husband to go down there and handle this the way he knows how.

AUTHOR: Valerie - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Friday, July 06, 2007
Thanks for the response, "Patricia," however, your own words have managed to further entangle your company in a web of lies.
1. You said, "I have all of the interview applications and records of those who were accepted and there is no 'Christy', or any variation of the name listed." This is most certainly a LIE, because on the day I exposed your scam to our training class, I took everyone's paperwork out of the cardboard box in which Scott Martin was toting it back and forth from training class (I know, professional, right?) and redistributed the applications to everyone who wanted to walk out. We knew you would be angry scam artists, so we didn't want you to have any information on us, and, judging by your facilities, you certainly didn't have the means (or intelligence) to photocopy them in advance! It's entirely possible that others may have done the same thing.
2. You say you've only been renting the building for 10 months, but I made my original post on: 7/27/2006 at 4:14:12 PM. This means that my experience occurred almost a full year ago, yet you say that your office has been open only since September. Care to explain the discrepancy?
3. "Scott Martin" introduced us to the "owner" of the company, and he was MALE. I can't recall his name, but I'm pretty certain I would have remembered a man named Patricia! I think that your responses have all been posted by the same group of people trying to cover your up your own scam, but it's not working. The fact that Christy misspelled the name of the company that TJS Industries is using for cover (Enviracaire is the company that makes air filtration systems) so YOU ENDED UP MAKING THE SAME MISTAKE is enough evidence for me!
Seriously readers, go ahead and do a google search on "Enviracaire" vs. "Envirocair." Would the real owner of a company make such an obvious mistake?
4. I did have the courage to post my real name. I'm sure Scott Martin will remember me!
5. Should I contact your supposed infomercial star James Earl Jones' publicist to further prove that you are all liars, or have I sufficiently "torn you a new one?"

I am the owner of Envirocair. The person who posted this is a fraud. You have lied about your name and the claim that you sold something during your training period. I have all of the interview applications and records of those who were accepted and there is no "Christy", or any variation of the name listed. If you had the courage to list your real name and IF you really sold something, you would also have had the courage to post a follow up stating that you were paid every penny you may have earned.
In response to your other statements:
There is a "for lease sign" on the upper portion of the building because we only lease the lower level and the upper level is still available. We have been at this location since we opened 10 months ago.
Not everyone is accepted, we had over 150 applicants, 50 were accepted into training.
You never see reports from the individuals who complete their training and continue on with the company. The only ones complaining ( by the way, what exactly IS your complaint? That we made the mistake of hiring you and spent the time, effort and money attempting to train you?) are the quitters, those that give up before they ever get started and look for an excuse for their lack of ambition and motivation. I run an ethical business and Health-Mor is a solid, reputable company. My senior associates are making on average over $1100 per week and are rapidly moving up through the Health-Mor Edge program toward their own distributorships. This business isn't for everyone and those that gave an honest effort and decided that it was not for them left on good terms and with my best wishes.
I want to thank you for quitting. We only want professional, positive and motivated people to represent our company.

I also attended a mass hiring event from an ad that I seen in the paper. I still have the Ad. It says, Distribution center 14$ to start. There was probally 50 people in this hotel room with the same man you are talking about Scott Martin. He said to fill out the application or if you have a resume that you could hand that in also. He talkes about dreams and making money and crap like that. He also said that if anyone wanted to leave they could. Some people left, I was curioud, so I stuck around and gave my resume to him, he didnt even look at it, asked me how I felt about the information he gave us, I said I was interested. He said that he would see me tomorrow, but that we all had to call between 6-7pm to see if we were accepted.
The thing is, everyone is accepted, if you didnt leave, or if you are walking and breathing, you are accepted. So the next day, we are at the place they call the office/warehouse. The place still has a rent to lease sign in the windows, that got me thinking that this is a fly by night outfit. Well he started going over the whole bit about dreams, making money, the whole thing to make people curious to want to know more. I was not impressed, the A/C didnt even work. He was sweating just like everyone said, he does have a nasty mouth, not professional. He started talking about the 7 different antique cars he has, about the big house he lives in, but later on, he let it slip out, that he lives in a apartment in parkersburg. I didnt know you could park that many cars at an aprtment. I wanted to see what kind of car he drives, so I watched him get out of a 2007 ford escape,. Not too great for someone that has all of this money if you ask me. He brings some little girl that he said is his training partner. yea right.
anyways, I was more curious. So I stayed for the whole 3 1/2 days of torture. Torture of BS. He Said give him 30 days, and he could change our lives. So again, he told us we had to find 10apointments with family members, qualified members. then gave us all this paper work and talked about all the money and gifts we get if we sell to all of our peeps, thats what he likes to call them. I did sell a few systems, and the vacuums are a great vac, but not 3000$ good. I will go back tomorrow to see if I will get paid, The only thing I can say is, If I dont get paid, someone will get hurt, because I do I have the license plate number to the ford escape.

As a businessman myself I can guarantee this issue has been brought up with the Chamber of Commerce and several attorneys that are very interested in shutting this company down with a class action lawsuite. However, I have learned that several people are working there collecting evidence and documentation along with several buyers of there air filtration system that is actually a sweeper. As far as the smoking in the building is concerned, the Mid Ohio valley Health Dept. is looking into that. Another words the buisness community and local government is well aware of this companies business practices. Good luck...there is a light at the end of this tunnel.

First, the fact that only ONE woman was present while all of this was happening means that either you're lying about having been there, or you were the one who tried to fight me. Regardless, your opinion will mean nothing to people who read this, because you're either a liar or trash (possibly both?)
Second, if you're going to continue to try to utilize the English language to make your company look less terrible, you should probably go back to grade school and learn the grammar skills that you missed. For example "Alot" is not a word, and "should of came" is probably one of the most atrocious things I've ever read.

So there was an ad in the Ashland Kentucky newspaper on a Sunday, advertising $14/hr jobs with warehouse positions involving a respiratory medical device. So I call, show up for the interview and it's just like everyone said. 40-50 people crammed into the conference room at the Ramada Inn off of Interstate 64 near the KY/WV state line. The presentation during the interview was hyping this up as the end to everyone's financial problems. So I do my interview with a very polite young woman, and I call back that day and I am 'invited' to the 'EPA training course', without being paid. Mr. Martin is the person doing the whole presentation. Off of a dry erase board. No projectors, no computers. Nothing. And did I mention we're in a conference room at a hotel? So the first day he goes over the whole company and how this product is supposed to be the greatest air cleaner in the world. And it's a bunch of education on particles in the air. They said this was EPA training. Then it turns into how this whole experience will change your life and they talk about making money, getting cars, moving ahead in life and how Scott Martin will ELIMINATE YOUR DEBT AND DOUBLE IT in 6 WEEKS! When I heard that line right there, I knew something fishy was going on. Later on that first day we split into groups and go over the Defender 360. When I saw those boxes, I could tell these products were clearly used in previous demos. The whole presentation of the product felt just like an Amway MLM scheme. They talked about how this product is approved by medical professionals and that we will be going out to sell this product to individuals that had already expressed an interest in purchasing it. Mr. Martin said WE PAY AMERICAN EXPRESS $18K a MONTH FOR CONTACT! The second time I felt like this was going to be a joke. We then watched a video about the presentation in the home of the products. Looked like a KIRBY demonstration. Mr. Martin used profane language, smoked in the conference room, had awful volume control, and was sweating pretty badly in that tiny hotel conference room. The first day ended and we were supposed to write a paper about what we wanted to do in 5 years. I go home, write down some garbage in 10 minutes, and show up the next morning.
The second day there were about 37 people left. About 13 or so had dropped out. I take my seat and the day begins with Mr. Martin talking about how our lives are going to be changed and that there is a lot of money involved if we just stick with it. He talks about how we can do 10 contacts a week and that we'll make that 12% profit sharing in no time. The funny thing about Mr. Martin is that he cannot recall how long, and how many times he has been fired by the company. One day, it was 11 years and 8 times! The next day it was 7 years and 7 times! They can't even keep their stories straight. On this day, we go over the Majestic, a glorified vacuum cleaner. During the time when we were going over the Majestic, Mr. Martin's assistant, hovered over me for about 30-40 minutes. And I mean she stood up directly behind me. (I was in the back row). Was she looking at my notes? Did she know I was onto their scheme? Probably. After the break that day, we break into groups to take apart and go over the Majestic. During that time I had a discussion with a lady about why we're not in a physical location. No warehouse, no office. A hotel conference room. This is when I realized this was nothing but door to door sales in disguise. Then at the end of the day. Scott Martin dropped the bombshell that should have exposed this entire operation. They want us to go out over the weekend and find 10 family members or friends that are qualified and demonstrate the units for 'practice.' And he made sure to point out that we needed to check in at the beginning and end of the demo. That's when he explained the 'special discount' pricing and how the pay over this 'practice weekend' goes. I knew it was bull right then and there. Because that commission from those sales was very low compared to the pay they said we'd make the first day. At the end of the day, Mr. Martin reiterated the fact that we will make money doing this and it will change our financial destiny. When I came home that night, I did my research online and found all kinds of nasty stuff about Health-Mor and Filterqueen.
I did print this out and placed it on a few vehicles on the hotel parking lot. I think I might go back for Friday to make sure no one has fallen for this trap. The prices of the machines are expensive and they want us to sell it to family members over one weekend, so they can get paid, and leave forever. Why else would they be operating out of a hotel conference room? Our meetings started at 10:30AM because of a continental breakfast. How professional. Scott Martin's potty mouth does not scream business to me. So if they get 15 people to sell 15 $3000 systems over the weekend they have made $45000 not including finance charges. They'll pay these people a couple hundred bucks, and now Scott Martin, HMI, and the rest of the crooks have made a few thousand dollars in a weeks worth of work. I know the leads are not what they say they are. Someone is cold calling people, or gleaning for names somehow and telling people they won a prize and to claim it they need to sit through a short demonstration and give their opinion. This does not sound like a professional company selling a 'CLASS 2 MEDICAL' device to people that need it. Like they said. It sounds like us selling sweepers and other junk door to door.
Here in ASHLAND, KENTUCKY the only name I could pick up for the distributor was ENVIRACAIR or ENVIROCAIR, something like that.

First off I would like to state that I was here the day all this occured, and if you had questions you should of came to one of us instead of making a bunch of papers and passing them out behind all the employees backs. Yes we do state that its a "distribution center" we are distributing our product through sales. Do you call kirby a scam for their ads? For they run similiar ads. Kohls does a group interview so are they a scam also. I hope not I encourage some of my friends to apply there.
The speaker who called himself Scott Martin is David Scott Martin better know as Scott. Alot of people go by their middle name. As far as just rented - we have been in this building since April 2005, I helped to clean and get moved into this building. There is alot that does need done with this building but some of it is the landlords responablility. They do like you to ask questions - I did and I'm still here. You don't get referrals from cold calls, & we don't tell them they have won a prize. They are told that for taking part in our survey their name will be entered in our drawing.
If they set an appointment they then have a chance for other gifts through our crown the queen program. Gifts like a color tv, x-box, playstation, free defender and many more. So you see that is where referrals come from. But we do also have other programs that if you would of given someone the chance they would of explained. The defender does retail for 949.00 which is higher than you can get one from ebay, But does ebay give you a perpetual lifetime warranty - if you replace your filter once a year. And is the machine NEW or USED? Usually used with no filters. Need I say more.
As far as the contract you sign it doesn't say they wont pay you it says that you must meet qualifications, even McDonalds has qualifications. You must do 12 qualified demos (homeowner, gainfully employed, not filing bankrupcy, etc.)or make a sale to get paid, their not going to pay you to sit on you duff and do nothing( would McDonalds or anyother place.) The man you refer to as quietly getting up and walking out had been acting just like you so yes Mr. Martin said a wrong comment, he knows he did and apologized to those left for saying it. You were asked to leave because you were just trying to cause trouble. I hope you don't do this to every company that tries to give you a job, or a career.
Further more I know for a fact that this company is not a scam I have been employed through them since Jan. 05. So as a single mother of two boys ages 7 & 9 with little child support do you really think I would stay if it was a scam and that you don't get paid?
