I fell victim to these people simply by placing an order with the home shopping network. I remember the whole conversation clearly because it was so frustrating. The person who took the order barely spoke english and kept trying to sell me other things I wasn't interested in. I just wanted the items I had called about, yet despite my repeated "not interested" claims he apparently signed me up anyway. When I got an e-mail from target about their servers having been hacked I went back and scrutinized my last few credit card statements and noticed four unauthorized charges from TLG shopper so I called my credit card company to find out what it was.

My credit card company representative was excellent! He called them and connected us all in a confrence call that he recorded. They told me when I had supposedly enrolled and offered to immediately terminate my membership, but refused to offer a refund even when I told them flat out that I had not agreed and did not authorize the charges. When my credit card rep asked about some sort of refund they put a supervisor on. Even speaking with her got me nowhere - she just asked me if I would like for her to send me some sort of documentation from when I enrolled so I said sure. I definately wanted to see that because I know I refused this service that night... repeatedly. Now I know there was a bit of a language barrier, but most people know what NO means.

I was so frustrated when she disconnected the call. I told my credit card rep that this was a scam. As I was talking to him I looked up the company online and what do you know? I wasn't the only one feeling ripped off by this "service". I'm not even sure what the hell it is nor do I care, I just want my money back. When I told the rep what I found on-line he asked if I wanted to dispute the charges and I said yes. He said he would take care of it and credit my account for the charges.

I don't know exactly how the process works but it seems like I will be getting my money back, yet I know not everyone has been as fortunate. That's why I decided to tell my story and report this fraudulent operation and how I got caught up with them in the hopes that it will warn and help others. Beware of the home shopping network and this parasite company they are infestected with. Never use you bank card to order online because they can't help you the way a regular credit card company can. Even one of those prepaid cards you can buy are better because you can limit how much is on them and make sure there is nothing for them to steal with unauthorized automatic withdraws.

Lastly, don't assume that just because you say "no" that these people will take it for an answer. Watch your statements and call to report it immediately if they charge you. If enough people write and complain maybe the places that are allowing them to offer their "services" piggy-backing on other ventures (like HSN) will reconsider their arrangement and stop allowing them to take advantage of their customers. I for one will never order from them again unless they do.

IMPORTANT CORRECTION to my report...

AUTHOR: Gemeris - ()

POSTED: Thursday, January 30, 2014

It was NOT HSN that connected me to this company after all. When I spoke to the representative from these techno-pirates and was told it was from something I ordered off TV I mistakenly thought it was from a cake pan I ordered through HSN, but upon further review, I realized it was actually a set of Chillows from a regular late night commercial and was not associated with HSN in any way. The chillows were a bit disappointing which is probably why I forgot about them until now

I apologize to everyone, especially HSN, for my confusion. I want the people behind this TLG company (or whatever other names it goes by) to be held accountable, but I'd also like to see the companies that are working with them and giving out our names, contact information, and credit card numbers to be held accountable too. It seems to me they have a responsibility to protect that information - surely there are laws to cover this, aren't there? So why are they giving it away? Does TLG lie to the other legitimate businesses saying we did enroll to get that info, or are they giving them some sort of kick-backs from their ill-gotten gains?

All that being said, it was important to me that I make this this correction and apology so that the right culprits might be examined and/or avoided in the future by other unsuspecting consumers. So again I'd like to reiterate that the Home Shopping Network is innocent - they had nothing to do with this company. It was Chillow.com that was my own personal Judas - selling me out to these bandits. HSN is actually great and I am so happy they weren't involved.
