TME J9KKXN magazine subscription service with unknown automatic renewals and refusal to refund saw renewal on my current credit card statements, 4 magazines, $149 total. Requested cancellation and refund. will not refund total amt, only unused subscription amt. not even sure when this subscription started. New York New York

At some time in the past I took a survey and received as a free gift, subscriptions to 4 magazines.  I saw no notice that these would be automatically renewed.  Tonight I went into my credit card account to pay it as it is due Nov. 28.  I found 4 renewals for the magazines totalling $149.  I called to cancel the renewals and was told that these subscriptions had already startedandthatthey wouldrefund only the unused portion and then they would give me 6 more free issues for $2 additional.  

I said no thank you, I only wanted a refund for these charges in total.  I asked to talk with a supervisor.  He reiterated the same line.  He will refer my request to their billing dept. and they will contact me within 72 hours.  I informed him that I would dispute the charges with my credit card company and report them to the BBB.  But BBB requires a physical address and that seems to be impossible to find.  Do not respond to any surveys offering free gifts if you want to avoid this kind of scam.
